Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS

2002-06-13 Thread Darrin J. Carter

Hi,

In Exchange 2000 SP2/Windows 2000 SP2 I get the following with some
messages that are sitting in the Queues of my default virtual SMTP
server.

Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS.

I see this when I look at the properties of some connections that are in
a retry state in the bottom text box.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Darrin Carter

RE: Issues sending mail More info.

2002-06-10 Thread Darrin J. Carter

Wanted to add a little more info to this. I can't seem to telnet on
port 25 to the domains that have problems from domain X as I do not get
the header but I can telnet to those same problem domains from domain Y.
When you telnet to port 25 does it automatically try to do a reverse DNS
lookup?

Hi,

I'm running an Exchange 2000 SP2 server on Win2K SP2.

I've been experiencing a delay sending messages to three external SMTP
domains from Domain X. This started to happen a couple of weeks ago. I
get delay notifications for these domains. The mail seems to eventually
get through. I have the delay notification set for 2hours. I have
tested sending mail from another domain (Domain Y) and do not appear to
have an issue with delays as the mail gets right through. These systems
are in no way linked.

I do not have a reverse lookup DNS entry setup for my MX record for
either the Domain X or Y.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Darrin Carter

Export to a csv file and import
Open your Notes account in Outlook and copy (I think that would work)
Use a NotesSQL connection to your address book and export to a csv file.

I keep my containers 'clean' by having one. ;)
I understand, though. This limitation is totally fixed in Exchange2000,

be

Yes, it sounds like a container permissions issue. Does the container

the same permissions as the recipients container as viewed in Exchange

I am actually using Eudora as a pop client. So Outlook never has to be
run
against the mailbox?

Eudora won't be able to use it as a MAPI client, I think. It should be
able
to POP/SMTP with it.

If you create a new mailbox in Exchange do you need to use Outlook to
initialize the mailbox or would the Eudora client be able to utilize
the
mailbox on it's own?

This doesn't make sense to me but I have a client that is claiming that
this
is the case.

RE: Eudora client and Exchange 5.5

2001-12-12 Thread Darrin J. Carter

Exchange as pop is only temporary until we get the outlook clients
rolled out. I have created a desktop image for them but they have not
rolled it out yet and it could take some time. I'm cutting them over
from Worldmail tomorrow. This will tide them over for now.

Thanks for the info guys, the client is actually going to Outlook but
I'm cutting them over tomorrow to use Exchange as a POP server and their
existing Eudora client.

I wanted just to verify with you guys because what the client was
telling me made absolutely no sense.

Correct...you can just POP it.
Of course your client is wasting his money if he only wants to use
Eudora rather than OL.

WorldMail to Exchange conversion

2001-12-04 Thread Darrin J. Carter

Hi,
I was wondering what the best route would be to do a Worldmail
to Exchange 5.5 conversion? Are there any
good tools for this? I want to be able to
scan the Worldmail messages and move all *.new files to the exchange server... Any help
will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darrin Carter
