I have a user who we have changed their domain password. When they go into
OWA, they are given a screen that says their password is set to expire in 0
days. Go to options and change it. When we go to options, and click on the
button to change password, we get a Page can not be displayed error. Any
clues? I need to fix this ASAP

Search Technet for "Password set to expire in 0 days"
I'd give you the Q article, but I don't have it lying around...
Usually this happens with the rollup security patch.
It requires you to edit root.asp in the webdata directory.

RE: OWA authentication

2001-10-04 Thread Clark, Steve

This came from another list - I would encourage you to SEARCH Technet or MS
support site to read about the error as it is very common.

I found a solution to this for my situation.
1. Open C:\exchsrvr\webdata\usa\constant.inc with notepad.
2. Modify "fEnablePasswordMenu" from true to false.
3. Save & test.

Does it REALLY say "change it or else"? You might have that 'special'
Ely-Miller collaborative installation.

Go here:
http://search.microsoft.com/us/SearchMS25.asp

Enter:
"Your Current Password Is About to Expire in 0 Days"

Using:
"All words"

Marvel at the first 5 returns.

The first one is probably it (the one Amado posted)

To solve this problem do the following:

1. Go to c:\Exchsrvr\Webdata\USA folder
2. Copy the file Root.asp to Root.aspxx where xx is the date
2. Open the Root.asp file, then edit it:

   a. Look for the line that reads:

if cint(days) < 0 then days = 1

  b. Change the line to:

  in cint(days) < 1 then days = 1

3. Save, and close the file.

Subject: OWA authentication

I have an NT4 SP5 machine, Exchange 5.5 SP4. OWA installed. I have a user
who logs in and gets a message " Your password is set to expire in 0 days.
Change it or else" . I have gone in under HTTPS, and changed the password,
and changed the password in User manager for Domains, but she is still
getting this message. Help!

Thanks in advance,

To solve this problem do the following:

1. Go to c:\Exchsrvr\Webdata\USA folder
2. Copy the file Root.asp to Root.aspxx where xx is the date 2.
Open the Root.asp file, then edit it:

   a. Look for the line that reads:

if cint(days) < 0 then days = 1

  b. Change the line to:

  in cint(days) < 1 then days = 1

3. Save, and close the file.
