I've just come to move my mailbox from 2003 to 2010.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could shed any light. I've tried running
outlook with /cleanfinders /cleanreminders /resettodobar and /cleanviews with
no success, so now I'm a little stumped.

It's odd as with it being my mailbox I use it all day every day and experience
no issues that I'm aware of.

Obviously it looks to be a problem with the '/Tracked Mail Processing'
folder, but that's not one I've created myself so I'm assuming it's a system

I read about that, not sure I understand the implications entirely
though so it would be good to know more if anyone's in the know.

The other option seemed to be to increase the skip count (seems the
default is none), but again I don't see in the help whether the skipped
items are deleted or left behind somewhere or whether you can see which
items were skipped?

RE: Errors moving Exchange 2003 mailbox to 2010

2011-06-09 Thread Paul Hutchings
So it turns out doing the move with a baditem limit of 1 moved the mailbox.
The fact it was failing at exactly 10% indicated a top of store issue rather
than a random item in a random folder.

Fingers crossed that's the worse that I encounter!

RE: Errors uninstalling Groupshield 4.5

2001-12-13 Thread Neil Ferguson

Steve

I've had
the same issues. You can download an installer cleaner from Microsoft - can't
remember the link off hand though it was easy to find. If that fails (like it
did with me) then its regedit time - remove every reference to Mcafee and
reboot. Groupshield's uninstall is pretty much
useless.

The
permissions problem you've had I experienced as well. You need to use Q261092 as
a reference and adapt it accordingly

Hope this
helps

program came back and said we had to remove it using the setup.exe file used
  to install the program.

When we run setup.exe, setup goes into
maintenance mode like it is supposed to, and we can click Remove All.
However, when the uninstall routine starts, it errors out with two error
messages. The first one says "DAPI Error c09f: - Unable to find
object /o=(Org name)/ou=(OU)/cn=(first cn name etc)". All we can do is
click ok. Then another message appears from the installer, saying that
it can not determine which version of Exchange we are running, 5.5 or
2000.We are logged in as Administrator (not the exchange
administrator account - will this make a difference ?)

Has anyone else encountered this ? Of
course, Network Associates does not offer per-incident support. We are
trying to remove the product, and I don't want to pay out $800.00 for a
support contract just to get support to remove the product. I have
searched bothMcafee's knowledge base, and Google.com to no avail.
Any ideas, advice etc would really be appreciated.

Does anyone know how to remove Groupshield 4.5
  manually ?

  Thanks,

Unfortunately, the MS install cleaner only deals with
MSI packages, and while regedit will (with time, patience and a little bit of
luck) get rid of all the registry entries, it won't fix the damage (if I was
being kind, I might say "changes") to the Exchange databases that GroupShield
makes.

Just
for starters - the changes and updates to your organization forms library, the
changes to the object types of scanned items, and the GroupShield admin mailbox
will not get cleared out properly.

Even
my "add a new server and move people to it" method doesn't do the whole job,
you've still got NAI junk in your forms library.

The
safest thing is not to install it in the first place, of course. And if you have
to evaluate it, NEVER EVER do it on a production server. That's strictly
something to do on an isolated test box.

  Steve

  I've had
the same issues.

You need to use Q261092
as a reference and adapt it accordingly

  Hope
  this helps

I see
NAI haven't improved the uninstall procedure for Groupshield between 4.0 and 4.5
then. Oh joy.

Not
wishing to put a damper on things, but in the past I've built a new Exchange
server into a site and moved the users to it rather than trying to remove
GroupShield. It's easier that way, trust me.I don't think a server is ever
quite the same again once that software has been installed.

Off the subject and most likely stealing a thread,
but
I have created a template user profile and I want

RE: errors

2001-11-18 Thread Arnold, Jamie

I'm having some also. I'm not including anything from the logs, nor the
actual error message itself. In fact, I'm not even going to tell you which
application I might be running. But rest assured.I am having errors.
Many errors.

What's generating the errors? And how are you connecting to the destination
system?

I keep getting errors now and then like this one:

Your mail system could not find a way to successfully communicate with the
destination system. Please notify your administrator.
mail.ocasf.org #5.5.0

I used nslookup on the domain in question and it pulled up the mx recor
correctly. I also telnetted to the mail server on port 25 which made a
successful connection.

the last domain to do this is usaid.gov

We're running Windows 2000 SP2 Exchange 2000 SP1 both in native mode
with AD Integrated DNS.

Any ideas? Thanks.
