Well, I kind of agree. Though it's not meant to be a blanket statement. There is real wisdom and enlightenment in Ff---but it's also a very mixed bag. One of the most "enlightened" groups I belong to is an international group of mathematicians/scientists. a lurkernomore20002000 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Bhairitu: Many of the "mundane" (non yoga related) groups I'm on behave more enlightened, balanced and sane than people here. Lurk: Bhairitu, let me tell you a secret I have learned, that has allowed me to be a little successful in my chosen field of sales. People like to talk. People LOVE to talk, espcially about themselves, especially about their opinions. And if you are willing to listen, you will find ourself making a friend. So, no, I don't think TM will instill enough self discipline to overcome this tendency. And I don't view it as a failure of TM. I view it as a positive thing that people here have opinions, and POVs that they want to express. Just remember one thing. Oh, good, another homophobe comes out of the closet. Better to have 'em out where we can see 'em so we know exactly how seriously to take what they say about spirituality. Ya know, if you're going to vent a vitriolic jihad against another poster, it's usually best if you actually read their posts before doing so. Otherwise you really make yourself look kinda silly. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time in your case, but it's never too late to mend your ways, eh? If both of these > trolls had been ousted long, long ago by a savvy moderator, > none of us would be STILL left suffering in their wake. Poor baby, are you suffering? Say, I know--how about a nice splenectomy? (P.S. to Lurk: Lawson never made as many as 30-40 posts per day. He would *occasionally* make as many as 20. Nor did any argument between Barry and myself last for anything even remotely like 50 posts.)

It was with great reluctance that he even put in place FFL's posting limits, and in all the years, only one person has ever been permanently banned from FFL. The Wed Night Yahoo Group is supposed to be an extension of the group that meets in Tom T's livingroom, and the biggest problem is that laissez-faire Rick doesn't run the Yahoo Group like Tom runs his livingroom. I set up the Wednesday night chat because I know how, not because I want to run it. I’m just a technician there, mostly sending out occasional invitations, usually at Tom’s request. I’m not a moderator and don’t want to be. Here in FFL of course, I play more of a moderator role, because somebody needs to, but as you know, I want to interfere as little as possible and basically let the group run on automatic pilot, which it usually does. A more controlling role would directly contradict the mission of the group, as stated in the description: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fairfieldlife/. No virus found in this outgoing message. I'm not lost. I'm here. The path is lost. I just don't have a lot of posts left is why I've been silent. To the chagrin of some, I'll resume talking on Monday. . Once again, I've drawn comparisons, I've not drawn conclusions from them. Why is everyone drawing those conclusions? And why is everyone drawing the same conclusion, namely that Ff folks are a bunch of fascists? Did I ever say that? Another possible conclusion would be that the German fascists were really as enlightened as the Ff folks believe themselves to be. I'll suggest a third possibility and maybe a fourth. Right now I'm turning into a pumpkin. a Sal Sunshine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: On Oct 18, 2007, at 10:15 PM, lurkernomore20002000 wrote: > --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, Sal Sunshine > wrote: > We lost both Bronte and Angela in one evening--we must be doing >> something right. > > Must have missed that losing Angela part. Heh, heh, thanks, Curtis. :) But I doubt I can hold a candle to Judy in that department. We lost both Bronte and Angela in one evening--we must be doing something right. Sal

Darn, I thought for a moment you were going to propose some kind of solution to this situation, but instead it was a kind of open ended commentary. For the record, it was hard for me to see Bronte lasting long here. I enjoyed it while it lasted. It's just a pattern - females with strong opinions, or insights, just don't last. (Judy excluded) Bronte plays for keeps. She's not some specimen from the wild brought in for people's amusement. Rick, inviting her to joing WNC with its more genteel ways was inviting disaster. WNC, as I envision it, not being a member, doesn't want that degree of controversy. I'll miss her, thats fer sure. lurk --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, kaladevi93 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > from the Wednesday Night Satsang List: > > Hi y'all, > > Rick gets private letters asking him to boot Bronte, and Bronte gets private letters in > support of her stance.
