Paolo, just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you. Hi Paolo, I hope you've got this straightened out by now, but you should be able to just create a whole new yahoo address and rejoin the group. You and Rompi are in my prayers. tonya Paolo [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Sorry for not having written before, yesterday I was just too shocked and needed a rest to gather my ideas. Michelle, I have a problem with Yahoo groups. I am a subscriber of the feline anemia group since 2000 or maybe even before, so I guess I have an User ID and password (but my Email address is not with Yahoo, as you can see). The strange thing is that I remember there was a security question to be answered, that I filled in at the moment of subscription, that should serve to retrieve ID and/or Password. But I am unable to find where to access to that question. In addition, even trying to create a new profile as a new user, Yahoo only accepts @yahoo.com addresses where to send group posts. This is definitely odd. Is it possible that, being a member of the Feline Anemia group already, and so receiving the posts, there isn't a way to have me recognized as a legitimate user? Paolo, How is Rompi doing today? Have you found any further info. on how you will be treating Rompi? :) Wendy Have a burning question? Go to www.Answers.yahoo.com and get answers from real people who know.
Re: Rompi
Wendy, thank you for asking. Rompi's surgery has been scheduled for thursday morning. Today's RX showed nothing abnormal, apart that evil thing with the diameter of a golf ball. Rompi has no symptoms, eats like a lion, evacuates like a lion, is FIV-/FeLV- and the vet says that his blood test panel would make happy a lot of 1-year old kitties (rompi is 14). I need INFORMATION, I cannot subscribe to the lymphoma and cancer Yahoo groups, I wrote to the Feline Anemia list owner (I subscribed there maybe 5 or 6 years ago) but NO ONE ANSWERS Paolo (worried/angry)

Paolo, On your email provider, can you select a second screen name? I can, on aol, if I want. If you can, you could basically create a different email address (different screen [EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) provider). and then you should not have trouble setting up a new yahoo groups account. Re: Rompi
I think you can get a free Yahoo email address to use in addition to the one you have. I have one just to filter emails. Try that. I know it is a pain and you have to remember to check both sites but it may be the quickest way to go. Re: Rompi
Hi Paulo, You can use other email addresses for Yahoo groups to send and receive posts. I use several different email addresses. I am new to Gmail, but this is where I receive all my yahoo group posts including the anemia group and others. The only problem is with yahoo and sometimes for weird reasons email has bounced and you quit recieving it. You can got to yahoo to reactivate. Someone elase may know where to find your security question for the groups. I would just sign up again with a new user ID. There are some really good Groups there. Rompi has lymphoma
Just back from the vet's, talked to the oncologist, the result of the analysis is that the 4 cm mass felt by palpation and visualized by ecography is lymphoma. Feel devastated but do not surrender. I am going to dig the archives, the web and my old arsenal. Paolo
Re: Rompi has lymphoma
Paolo, I'm so sorry to hear this diagnosis. Did you talk to your vet about steriod shots to help Rompi feel more comfortable? I took Michelle's advice and began giving Spencer .4cc of dex daily, (my vet wouldn't prescribe the combo shots that Michelle suggested), and it brought him back to almost his former self for the last month of his life. Steroids stimulate the adrenal glands and reduce inflammation. I'm not sure what the protocol is if you are going to do chemo. I seem to remember that dexamethisone is sometimes used in conjunction with chemo drugs. Did they give you any hope of removing the tumor? How old is Rompi? What else did the oncologist say? Did he have a plan to help Rompi attain remission? Are you on the list for cancer? Nina Paolo wrote: Just back from the vet's, talked to the oncologist, the result of the analysis is that the 4 cm mass felt by palpation and visualized by ecography is lymphoma. Re: Rompi has lymphoma
Steroids are most helpful with lymphoma, much less so with other forms of cancer. When an animal has another form of cancer, dexamethasone may make them feel a little better because dex generally increases feelings of physical and psychological well-being and reduces pain. But it actually shrinks lymphoma, which is part of why it has such a dramatic effect on cats with lymphoma, and does not to my knowledge shrink other forms of tumors. Re: Rompi has lymphoma
oh-- I did not see this post. Yes, the steroids help with lymphoma. But lymphoma often responds very well to chemotherapy. Where is the mass, and is Rompi felv+? Some cats go into permanent remission or remission lasting for years with chemo. Depending on the kind of lymphoma (small cell versus large cell) I can send you protocols. Also I highly suggest you join the lymphoma group-- it is very active and they will bring you up to speed on treatment options right away. I believe it is groups.yahoo.com/feline_lymphoma.
