[Flexradio] Back to 2.3.5 because of CW Skimmer
with 2.4.4 I have to use the direct I/Q Output to VAC setting, to have CW Skimmer running, while with 2.3.5 CW Skimmer is finding a additional I/O called flexradio audio instead of running with the VAC . This allow me to stay with the VAC setted for all the others services. Unfortunatly I am not able to find the same I/O device in the last update. 73 de IK4GBU - Valerio ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
[Flexradio] PowerSDR 2.4.4 Flex-15400 and 60m
Hello, I think my Flex-1500 is behaving strange on 60m. I have European Flex-1500, region 1, and it is opened for TX at 60m, 5.250 - 5.450MHz. RX and TX works OK. But PowerSDR is saying only Out of band in this segment, but is saying 60m general receive outside this segment. This must be wrong! (I have not imported any old databases.) I also will complain about the bandstack registers on 60m band. When repeated click 60m band button I only get 2 channels, 5.380 and 5.371.5 (or so). (On version 2.3.5 there was Channel 1,4,5, and general) I would like it to behave like any other band, get the frequency you like, not preset channels. Can this be changed? 73's LB5VA, Stig ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

[Flexradio] Audio quality with the FLEX-3000
Regarding audio quality with the FLEX-3000. In the old days, the rule of thumb was to minimize the number of active audio stages to minimize noise and distortion. (The ideal was said to be a straight wire between the microphone and the speaker!) The FLEX-3000 manual does not say much about the use of the FlexWire balanced line input vs. the unbalanced RJ-45 microphone input. Does the FlexWire line input involve fewer preamp stages or is its audio signal simply attenuated? If simply attenuated, it would seem that the use of an external microphone preamp/processor will not reduce noise and distortion, even though the external compression or equalization functions may be more sophisticated than those built-in the FLEX. And, I would guess that with the microphone connected directly to the FLEX via its RJ-45 connector, fewer chances exist for ground loops or other RFI issues. So, any advice would be appreciated. 73 Hal KK6HY ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] Audio quality with the FLEX-3000
I'm running the W2IHY audio equipment to the rear line input on the 3000 Flexwire connector and get excellent audio reports. Cleaner setup than going into the front mic connector. [Flexradio] CW Skimmer - PowerSDR v2.4.4
I am having the same problem posted earlier by Bernie, W4BGH, but have not been fortunate to find a fix. I have checked and re-checked my settings in PowerSDR, CSK, and VAC 4.1 but can't get CSK to decipher. It was working fine prior to PSDR v2.4.4 upgrade. Only suggestion I could not try was using FlexRadio, instead of VAC Line 2, as Signal I/O Device in CSK. For some reason, Windows XP is not providing that as an audio device option (maybe a problem with my PNP Emulator in XP). I was using MME in CSK and VAC prior to upgrade but have changed them to WDMS-K since the upgrade. Any suggestions would be appreciated - Hunter K3IE. My setput is the same as Bernie's: 'I am not able to get CW Skimmer v 1.71 to decode properly with PowerSDR v2.4.4 and a Flex-3000. The radio CAT commands seem to be working correctly using PowerSDR v2.4.4 and DXLabs Commander. CW Skimmer is setup as a secondary CAT control in Commander using Kenwood CAT protocol. [Flexradio] Help with analyzing noise from waterfall and panadapter
While this is not strictly Flex Radio, it occurs to me that there may be someone on this reflector who knows something about using the amazing capabilities of the graphic display to track down local noise problems. I have a 5000a with a 2nd receiver. My location is plagued with noise. While I have been able to track down the noisy power line insulators successfully and have the power company graciously fix them (with an accompanying reduction in noise), I am stumped by the other (probably multiple) noise sources at my QTH. Is there a way to use the graphic display capabilites of my 5000a and Power SDR to get a clue as to the source of the noise? My Power SDR version is 2.3. On most bands, my waterfall display background is yellow to green and not the blue to black of images I have seen on the web of other ops with their Flexes. Re: [Flexradio] CW Skimmer - PowerSDR v2.4.4
I could never get it to work. Between the problem with CW Skimmer and the problem with DXLabs Winwarbler mentioned by Rich, W3ZJ, (below) I reverted back to Ver. 2.3.5. --- I did have a little trouble with DXLab's WinWarbler because it doesn't like WDM. But since I feed the power speaker output from the Flex-3000 to the line input on my computer sound card I was able to configure WinWarbler to get its audio from the computer sound card instead of the VAC and that seems to be working OK. I think what we are seeing here is some set up problems because the Beta testers didn't have duplicates of all our various set ups but so far it has all been solvable. 73, Rich - W3ZJ --- -73- Bernie W4BGH - on 9/17/12 12:03 PM, Hunter Mills at hmills1...@yahoo.com wrote: I am having the same problem posted earlier by Bernie, W4BGH, but have not been fortunate to find a fix.
