[Flexradio] Flexwire (I2C) question
Hi Alan, You are not mentioning the UCB form where you tell the application what bits you want activated. The first two entries are dedicated to the V/U module, Be sure to press the FlexWire button on that form. And you must select each bit that you want activated for each band. You can get to the form by pressing Ctrl + Alt + U Phil K3TUF ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz To opt out of the Reflector: http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz

Perhaps someone here knows of a way to make this work: I have a Flex 5000A w/RX2. I want to control a bandpass filter using BCD information off the second receiver (VFOB). As the band is changed on the radio, it should change the band selection on the filter. The filter would be used in an SO2V contesting arrangement, so I want to use the filter on the SP radio (or VFO B in this case). I'm told that DDUtil only works by following the frequency that has TX focus. This won't work in my application because whenever TX focus shifts from the CQ radio (VFOA) to the SP radio (VFOB), the bandpass filter will switch bands - NOT what I want! [Flexradio] HF Band Data
You can get band data out via the DDUTIL utility There currently is a way to get band data for VHF and above bands through the XVTR form and the FlexWire port. Soon, (next version) there will be HF band data out the FlexWire port. I have an interface board that decodes the I2C from the FlexWire port. When HF band data is available I will have a complete interface accessory that will provide an open collector for each band. 73, Phil K3TUF ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
[Flexradio] FlexWire interface for VHF UCB
I have several beta test positive results so I am now ready to take orders for the daughter board for the UCB. This will take FlexWire instructions from the 5000, 3000 or 1500, although I have not had it tested on a 3000. Currently PowerSDR only sends instructions out the FlexWire port for bands that are identified in the XVTRs form. Data values are identified in the UCB form where the FlexWire output is selected. This interface board is a fully constructed and tested surface mount board consisting of a DB9 FlexWire connector and short cable to the small board which plugs into the UCB. The board uses the same I2C chip, the PCA9555, that is used internally in the Flex products. The output of the chip then is routed through a header set of pins to the existing UCB. The user needs to install a supplied header on the UCB. I have been using this interface along with the PowerSDR code for over a year now (along with a handful of others) and it has been working without a hitch. My station has automatic switching all the way from 160 meters through 24GHz. VHF and above selects the appropriate transverter via the interface and UCB. The low bands are switched using band data from N1MM using DDUTIL to share logging and DXLAB. Some day we hope to get HF data from PowerSDR so no additional logging software will be needed to switch antennas. Completed FlexWire interface boards will sell for 25 dollars shipped in the lower 48, elsewhere plus additional shipping. I will accept Paypal at this email. For those who have emailed me waiting, I will now go back and respond to your request, in case I miss someone, please feel free to send another request. I do plan on bringing several to Dayton. Re: [Flexradio] UCB DDUTIL Help! Pse
Bob, Sorry I missed one of your emails. How are you driving your UCB from DDUTIL? What is the physical connection to the board? I am driving my UCB directly from the I2C port on the Flex, otherwise known as the FlexWire port with the addition of a single I2C chip which will soon be available generally. 73, Phil K3TUF Well I got the UCB board kit together even with the limited assembly info I could find and now I have it hooked up for a test. I seem to get results every time I use one of my assigned band buttons but none of the activities change no matter what relay box I check in UCB setup tab. The UCB board has relay #1 and LED keyed with power applied and no data input. Since Phil K3TUF has failed to respond to my e-mails I would like to talk with someone out there who is running the UCB board with a Flex 5000A through DDUTIL. I would like to compare screen shots of the UCB , DDUTIL and transverter menus and try to find out if I have a problem or if I simply don't know how to set this thing up (this is obvious) I checked all the relay boxes for band #1 222 here and thought all relays should have been keyed. Nothing changes the UCB still keys realy #4 and a couple of the LED's DS2 and DS3 light up? Band #Ø 144 Mhz here keys relay#2 and lights up DS2 only with nothing checked on UCB setup. Band# 2 432 Mhz here keys relay# 8 and lights LEDS DS2 DS3 DS4. So basically things are happening but not what is supposed to. More transverters waiting to be put into service here but things are looking a bit grim. 73, Bob KA9UVY ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/

[Flexradio] Starting PowerSDR after using OZY
My default is using PowerSDR on Flex5000. I assisted a friend with an Ozy Janus SDR1000, now I can't get the instance to stop erroring and get back to the 5000 useage. What can I do short of losing the db? thanks Phil K3TUF ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
[Flexradio] Undo (^Z)
Before I put this in for feature request I wonder if it's already there. Several times during the contest last weekend I ended up entering a wrong value thinking my focus was in the logging program and sent the flex off into never never land losing valuable time finding where I was again. I'd love an undo button. I don't care where it is, even if it's buried in a menu, just so I can find it. Any help out there? thanks Phil K3TUF FN10we 160m-1.25cm ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
[Flexradio] Multiple 5000a's
Can I run multiple instances of PowerSDR on the same computer? What is the impact of changing radios per instance of PowerSDR? Will it sense the sn change and replace the eeprom data? [Flexradio] improvement request
Before I put this in the request bin I'd like to see if either the feature is already available or if it is attractive to others. When in the heat of a contest it is possible to be in the wrong focus and start typing a call or number (or whatever) intending the keystrokes for a logger, but instead your focus is PowerSDR. Wouldn't it be nice to have a back button to get back to the exact frequency you were previously working? I'm sure you can disable the keystrokes, but a quick recovery would be helpful. thanks Phil K3TUF ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] improvement request
Hello Army, No, not exactly. I find that esc only works if the new frequency hasn't been selected yet. For instance if I find that the new frequency is in the window but return hasn't been hit yet, escape will do the trick, but if the VFO has gone to the new frequency, which is usually some weird general coverage freq, then I can't get back. I'd like a buffer that holds the previous frequency and a button or keystroke that immediately gets me back. thanks Phil K3TUF Army Curtis - AE5P wrote: Hi Phil, I have done exactly the same thing in the heat of battle, but just discovered that hitting the escape key resets the frequency to what it was originally, assuming of course that you have not hit the enter key yet ;o)) Does this solve your problem, hopefully? 73, Army - AE5P -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Phil Theis Sent: Friday, December 05, 2008 8:22 PM To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] improvement request Before I put this in the request bin I'd like to see if either the feature is already available or if it is attractive to others. Re: [Flexradio] Vista and PowerSDR
Thanks Eric, For the record, the issue was .net not installed. Phil Eric Wachsmann wrote: Phil, I don't think Vista will show you the found new hardware screen if you already have the drivers installed. If you are talking to the FLEX-5000 Control Panel, then the driver is installed and is working. The error message about DttSP makes it sound like the DttSP.dll file is not in the PowerSDR directory. Are you running from an installed version or from SVN? You may want to start with a full install copy as a first step to ensure that things are working properly on the machine. [Flexradio] 5K driver issue
Greetings, I have a 5K that is working fine with an older computer. My newer computer which has worked just fine for several months has now developed a driver issue. At this point the symptom is that when installing the driver, and at the point of restarting the computer and expecting to find new hardware, no new hardware is found. The 1394 driver is installed and operating properly. Scratching my head on this one (that's why there's no hair left) any thoughts welcome. thanks Phil K3TUF ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
