Re: [Flexradio] Band/ freq changes after shutoff

2011-10-16 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
The short answer is that, it shouldn't matter if there is a long wait
(several thousand microseconds) for a DPC to complete while PowerSDR is
shutting down. The OS is what controls that. During the DPC, things
are waiting gracefully. After the audio stream is stopped, the
in-memory DB is written to the XML DB when PowerSDR shuts down.

of DPC high latency that is causing PowerSDR to shut down a bit
ungracefully, and perhaps without writing to the database when it
closes. It's just a thought, and simple enough to check by moving to a
more conservative safe mode setting. If you are at "Normal" try moving
it a notch to "safe-mode 1" to see if it resolves it. You might even
find it more useful to start with "safe-mode 3" and work in the other
direction to see if it resolves the problem.

Re: [Flexradio] Band/ freq changes after shutoff

2011-10-15 Thread Rick Markey, KN3C
I do exactly the same procedure, except I normally press the START button to
stop the application, then I close the application, and then I power off the
5000A and then shut off the 12V power supply.

I just had it happen this morning. When I closed PowerSDR early this
morning, the radio was on 75M. When I started the application later in the
day, it was on 40M which is where I was using it on Friday. After seeing
that, I shut it down and started it back up several times and each time
PowerSDR came back up to where I left it. Go figure.

I have learned to live with it as a quirk because the band hopping happens
completely at random. While it may be annoying, to quote an old timer
friend of mine, "it ain't the end of the world."

Years of both 3000 and 5000A and never had a "frequency change" with either
and with all the PowerSDR changes. I use Paul's procedure which I think
has been recommended since day one or thereabouts.

That's interesting.
My PSDR always starts up where it left off, the settings do not change as
the others have described.

I also always shutdown the software before the hardware. (and vice versa)

I hope you are shutting down your PowerSDR software first. If you don't
it

will revert to the last settings you had when you exited the Setup menu.

Folks, I noticed after upgrading to V.2.2.3 about a month or so ago,
that
the band and frequency changes from the previous operating session. When
I

fire up the next time, the rig is on a different band and freq...As an
example, I'm on 14.300 MHz and then shut down PowerSDR and turn off the
 rig.
The next day the band and freq is somewhere else (ie:40 meters). I
believe

 this behavior is pretty consistent.

Any ideas? Would resetting to factory defaults fix the anomaly?
