Thanks to code contributions from Jiri Javurek for the L410 model (still to be completely ported to FlightGear), we have a much more capable propeller model and a turboprop engine model, as well. Some of the propeller performance depends, of course, on how the config file for that prop is set up. The data that drives the model has to cover the entire range of advance ratio expected to be seen in operation. Jon --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. I remember a couple of years ago that we weren't getting nearly enough drag from a windmilling propeller, either in JSBSim or in YASim, but I don't know how the code is now. I haven't seen anything in the code concerning carb icing so far. Another really cool feature would be structural icing (and deicing, if the A/C is equipped). I flew a ELITE FNPTII seneca a couple of days ago that supports structural icing. It is nice to see the elevator trim moving back and the airspeed drop slowly when running on the autopilot altitude hold... Luckily it was just a simulation ;-) Torsten --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop! BTW : Anti-aliasing would help a lot when you're making screenshots - you don't need to run with it on all the time if your card can't handle it but for screen grabs frame rates aren't important and it'll make those jagged edges look a lot better. So the config file has to be backported to the old file format. This is possible, but I will use my time to get it in the air first. Sorry...
