best browser to save ebay pages with text and picture?

Subject: Re: Macs and eBay
From: Tom Ethen [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Ebay like many companies on line is PC anal and they are big enough
that they don't care if other platform users are having issues with
their site. I find Safari to be much slower on ebay than Firefox and
the last version of Explorer for the Mac to be almost unusable on
ebay.

Tom

Question re best browser to use to save ebay pages with text and picture:
I have found that the last version of Explorer for the Mac is the
only browser that allows me to quickly download an ebay page, with
pictures, all in one file. To check the progress of the auction I
just double click the downloaded page, click on 'Connect' and check
progress.
Are there other browsers that will save the text and picture as one
file, as Explorer for the Mac 5.23 does?

Thanks.

headache I had when calling my ISP to setup the 190 on my dialup account.

Yes, unfortunately we all have similar stories to share.

Often, while traveling for work, I visit little ($99 complete Pentium
systems!) computer places around AL, TN and MS, I will find Mac stuff at PC
refurbishers, seperated and stored away from the PC stuff in the back of the
store. In
some of the smaller towns, even pre-pentium PC stuff would be displayed
proudly, and G3-G4 Mac stuff is stored away just because the tech there does
not
know how to startup the thing, or the flashing question-mark disk spooks them.

The PC guys will usually say I know nothing about Macs, just get it out of

iCab will to this very elegantly. You can also print to pdf from any
browser if all you want is a copy - but then edited in Acrobat

So far, every problem I've had with Safari on eBay has been eBay's

This is one of the reasons we need to be armed with multiple browers.

Of course, keep in mind that if you spoof your browser's identities

exporting bookmarks from Safari 1.3.1 (v312.31)?

2005-12-05 Thread Andrew in Ann Arbor

Hello all,
I'm switching over from a Lombard running Panther to a Pismo running
Tiger.
I'd like to export the bookmarks from Safari (1.3.1 (v312.31)) on the
Lombard and import them onto the Pismo (Safari 2.0 (412)).
I haven't found any export option in the menus, does such a thing
exist?
If there's no export function is there a preference file I can copy
from one machine to the other?
There are no bookmarks saved on the Pismo so replacing the bookmarks
would work as well as importing them.

Thanks

If you go in your Preferences folder, on your Lombard, you should find a
directory inside named Safari. Inside that directory should be a file
named 'Bookmarks.plist'. That's the file you have to copy over on your
Pismo, in the same location.

Thanks Ken for the heads op on this issue. But tell me why is it that
Airport in the Network Pane under System Preferences doesn't show up.
Airport not showing up there means that I can't even select Airport as a
viable connection option.

Why? questions are always tough ones. However, I believe that you
need the drivers installed in order for the machine to see the card
and thus give you an option to select the option to use the card. The
option isn't given to you unless you have a useable Airport card.

Yeah, but that would require actual effort (special trip to the
store). Much easier to just write about it :-)

This is a 17 Al book so can't pull out the keyboard :-(
