Re: Pismo and USB2

I don't see how the USB2 card can work on a Pismo other than at
USB1 speeds

since your PC slot is not as fast as USB2.

Actually, it SHOULD WORK. The Cardbus card in the Pismo is more than
fast enough for that. I happen to have used a similar card with my
Wallstreet and it worked great.
I don't have an iPod, but I can say that file transfer to and from a
usb2 pen drive were really much faster than usb1 (using the built-in
usb ports of my TiBook), so yes it is expected to work great on a Pismo.

I got the Belkin USB 2 card for $6 on ebay, was new and in perfect
shape. Worked fine on the Pismo with 10.3, never tried 10.4 but am
sure it's okay too. It comes with an external AC adapter, which may

be required for peripherals with higher power requirements. Good luck.

I have only 1.2 gigs of music on the Lombard, and I'm only adding a

Caleb - the difference between syncing with USB1 and USB2 is
tremendous.

When I completely swap out playlists on my 4 gig Nano it takes about 15
minutes on my desktop G5 (USB2) and between 60 and 90 minutes on my G4
at
work. (I don't normally sync it with my work computer but I wanted to
test
it before buying my wife a Nano for Christmas.) I don't know how you
could

stand filling a 30 or 60 Gig iPod with USB1.

With all due respect, Small Dog is hardly the place to look for such
PowerBook peripherals. Belkin has one:

If you enter the code "12345" for an online order from the Belkin
