Hi Van,
Thanks again. The Belkin 7010 card box had nothing of the sort. However
the web site made the same claim re being compatible with 1026 and
103X. Wonder Why the Asanté doen't work with an APEBS??? BTW the Belkin
7010, Ver. 3001 does work well in my Wallstreet (1028) and Pismo (1036)
using the driver from Ralink who made the chipset. It is superior to
the original Airport card in the Pismo!!! Still wished it worked with
apple's driver.

No cards :-( The trial only provides cards for wintel types Mac users
have to fend for themselves

It now turns out that the guy on the desk next to me has a spare card
at home. Once I have that and the router I'll report back

An Airport card would be nice but they are still around £60 on eBay -
vanilla ones are around £20!!

Thanks for all advice - very useful

Mike,
Thanks for the feedback. I found that site back a few months ago when I
tried to get some of the USB wireless adapters to work which were based
an the Ralink chipset; specifically the dLinks DWG G122. There is a hax
posted there but I can't find a Ver. B1 adapter in my area. The Belkin
7010 Ver.3001 works on the Ralink driver but is unstable. The goal was
to get it to work on the Apple drivers. Curious what verision is your
card?

Ian,
What card did they provide? It's possible that there may be a Mac
driver for it.

Otherwise, there are plenty of cards that work for the Pismo and are
not too expensive. Wireless is great! You will wonder how you did
without it for so long. Being able to sit anywhere in the house and
access the net and print is a nice luxury. Plus all of the Starbucks,
etc.

If you can afford it, and the card they gave you really won't work,
then an internal airport card is a nice option. Nothing sticking out
the side or worrying about misplacing. Only 802.11b instead of g but
plenty enough speed for me. Maybe someone who has tried both on a Pismo
can tell us if the speed difference is noticeable.

I believe Apple has stopped making the original Airport card (a Pismo
can't use an Airport Extreme). But Ebay and others still offer it. I
know the price went up for awhile, but I think it is fairly reasonable
(as in close to the original price) now.

Has anyone tried the Sourceforge Freeware driver or the IOXperts

Van,
Please do I would like to know if it works. If it does please share
the details.

I Just tried the Belkin F5D7010 Rev. 3001. In spite of what the site
says there was NO joy with Apple Drivers. The supply of Rev 1000s ,
which did work w/ 10.2.6 and 10.3.X has dried up. I have called Belkin
and begged them to get the engineers to put the pressure on Ralink to
develop a mac compatible driver. It will take all of us to call and
complain to get them to do it. Their # is 877.736.5771.

I have a Asante 802.11g cardbus adapter that I purchased to use with
my Pismo (it is supposed to work with the Airport drivers - so no
hassle). However, I then stumbled onto an Airport card. The Asante
packaging hasn't been opened. If you'd like me to open it and confirm
that it is plug and play with the Pismo, I can.
$25 shipped via Priority mail (in the US).

Hi all
I've just had an email from work telling me I've been accepted as a
test
driver for a BT Voyager 2110 router

As you may have guessed this has wireless and wired connections
I need a wireless card for a Pismo (for the trial they can only
supply cards
for wintel types)

I currently hang my Pismo, a 266 G3 and a Rev C iMac from a Netgear
RP614
wired router but as the trial will let me keep the wireless one, I
can feel
some mobility coming on!

Anyone any experience of the said router? Recommendations for cards?
TIA
Ian

Wireless recomendations?
