Not sure. Physically it should fit, the issue is it the right
interface. Look in System Profiler, does the drive show up on the
ATA or SATA bus? That will be your guide. The rest is just mounting
bracket and connection concerns, which would be obviate by using a
bare drive of some sort. The drives are mostly universal, but each
computer manufacturer will attach their own connecting hardware and
platform to it.

See: http://tinyurl.com/82s8tgl

The key is getting the right interface for your system and carefully
disassembling your existing one to reuse the apple-supplied bracket
and connector. I would think that the odds are extremely high that
yours is a SATA drive, which are pretty common.

Hi,

Which is quieter, more reliable AcBel or Panasonic? I am replacing a
 defunct PS. Thanks.  Jim

The AcBel is the older one and many seem to fail eventually. Get the
Panasonic although it has a bit less capacity/wattage. Installing the
German Papst fans helped to get things a bit more quiet.

The MDD dual CPU machines are a bit louder but you can download some
developer app that lets you switch between single and dual mode. When
I listen to music or watch a movie I switch to single mode ...

Good luck, Jörg.

The 'C' key normally boots a disc from the optical drive. Are you

Where should I be looking to discover the problem?

This sounds a little like a dead PRAM battery to me. If you've never
replaced the PRAM battery, it's almost for certain that it's a dead
PRAM battery, they only last about 5 years max, and this would seem
to be more than 5 years.

How do I know if the video card is going out?

Not too likely it's going out. You might re-seat it if you're
worried, but it's not common for these to fail, and since you
corrected your video problem in System Preferences, this indicates
the card is likely fine, and that the parameters for the video were
lost because the PRAM battery was dead.

I suppose the feature to be looking at for your purposes is what video format

I mean, there are several tools for scripting /macro creation, but that's
the Apple one.

AFAIK AppleScript is still present in OSX, but there's also the Automator

Lastly, you can set up keyboard shortcuts for various features, thru System

I don't know if the Digital 8 camcorder will play Hi8 tapes or not,
but I do know that most Sony Digital 8 can be made to pass-thru
analog video and output digital video as if they are an analog-to-
digital converter device. You plug-in the analog device to the RCA
jacks on the digital camcorder and use a Firewire cable for the
output. On some lower model camcorders you need to modify the firmware
to enable the pass-thru function. This isn't commonly known, but most
Sony digital camcorders within a range of identical looking models are
actually identical camcorders with more functions enabled thru the
firmware only. You can take a cheaper model and modify it to the same
as a more expensive model if you know the correct modification to
firmware.
