[Audyssey] Mach 1 tts
hi, Speaking of car engine sounds, I am adding a choice of engine sound to Mach 1 tts version 2. I have a few already, but if anyone has some that they would like me to add, please do send them to me or put them up on send space. However the engine sound file for Mach 1 tts needs to be different than those in Top Speed. The sound file needs to be of the car engine going from idle to top rpm. And it should take 5 or so seconds to do so. The engine sounds where the engine revs from idle to top rpm in like half a second will not work. For an example, you could check out the mach1.wav file from version 1 of Mach 1 tts. Thanks. [Audyssey] the last crusade
HI all I suddenly remember of something weird happening in the audio game called the last crusade. Long ago I thought this is a bug but after reading the hp books, I now know that this is not a bug at all. When I manage to kill a Leprechaun in the game I get a pot of gold. However, at a later stage in the game, I notice that my gold is suddenly less than what it was when I killed the Leprechaun The developer of the last crusade game, most likely took seriously what was written in hp book4 The weasley twins gambled with mister crouch, but when they win, they were given Leprechaun gold, which vanished after a while. So this makes sense, why, in the last crusade game, the player suddenly has less gold than before. The developer most likely decided that Leprechaun gold in his game must behave like in the hp books. Re: [Audyssey] the last crusade
well I never had that issue mainly because I ended up on using it to buy stuff. You can get buy if a sertain weapon or 2 shows up in the game at rare and random times. however later in the game you need to really fight to get the almost heavy stuff. on that note once you are in the castle although you can get em you don't necessarily get potions although if you battle you can. The issue I don't like about the game is that by the time you get to the final fight if you manage to get there at all you have almost no resources, mostly you run out quickly. At 09:54 p.m. 2/09/2009, you wrote: HI all I suddenly remember of something weird happening in the audio game called the last crusade. Re: [Audyssey] audio wrestling game
Hi Michael, If you want a wrestling game like that your best bet is to buy a PSP or Play Station so you can play WWE Raw vs Smackdown. The WWE Play Station games aren't 100% accessible, but they are playable if you practice with the games. There are some people like Brandon on this list that are able to play them so it is possible. As far as making an accessible audio wrestling game such as you describe it is a massive financial undertaking. Plus keep in mind if I were to make such a game I couldn't legally use real wrestlers, intro music, etc because of copyright laws. So for several reasons I couldn't really create anything that compares with a game like WWE Raw VS Smackdown or WWE Legends. michael barnes wrote: it's nice to hear about a text base wrestling game out there thatt is for both online and offline but the thing that people want is a audio version of wrestling game that will let you play as today wrestlers and wrestlers from the past and do the matches that they have today aswell as matches from the past and have entrance music when your wrestler comes out at the begining of the match and have the crowd cheering aswell and have anouncer calling the match and someone helping him to call the match another thing that people want in a wrestling game is the sound of someone getting hit by a chair and someone going through a table and someone getting hit by a ladder and someone getting slam on the mat and the floor something else that wrestling fan want is wrestlers talking and wrestlers getting in the match who don't have anything to do with the match and something else people want to be able to go through a story mode and fight for the different titles inclue the women title and have the different women matches i don't think that anyone want to set up the season themselves that why an audio wrestling game should have a pre set season mode that last for awhile and who ever makes the game they can have an online mode where you play against other people in a season mode and have a offline mode for those who want just to play against the computer have a level setting such as begining easy normal hard expert text base games are good but people want interaction with the games or if someone would take the text base wrestling game they can take and put sound to it and music to it aswell --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] the last crusade
Hi Nicol, Umm...That is a very common fairy tail about Leprechaun gold that has nothing specifically to do with the Last Crusade or Harry Potter. In fact there is very little in the Harry Potter books that is original content. Most of the things you find in the Harry Potter books are common fairy tails that have been repackaged using new characters and in a different fantasy setting for younger readers. If you are not up on fantasy stories then you might not know the legend of the Philosopher's Stone has been around for centuries. If you haven't studied Greek and Egyptian mythology you might not know about the Phoenix, the three headed dog Cerberus, and so on. Basically, what I'm saying just because you find a similarity between two fantacy stories doesn't mean someone directly copied from someone else. It is just something that has been passed on from generation to generation, and continues to be used in stories like Harry Potter. Smile. Re: [Audyssey] audio wrestling game
sorry to disagree with you man, but this is totaly wrong. true, a lot of games are not blind friendly, such as fps games, adventure games, some sports games, simulations games, racing games, rpg, etc. but the fighting games, beat'em ups, and some sports games are accessible, like baseball, boxing, wrestling... if you've read the article on gamespot, you whould see that brandon created a site with a section for samples (in sound only) of the gameplay of mainstream games. trust me man, before you say something like that, get your ps2 if you have one, and go try the game. the commentator is not the best, a bit repetitive, but it's easy to understand what's going on during the match. and the menus, just takes practice and memorization to learn all the options. if you want, i can give you all the options in the main menu to get you started. btw, if you missed the article on gamespot, here's the link, go read it, look in brandon's site, and after that you have enough reasons to try it. the article is located at: HTTP://www.gamespot.com/news/6215457.html and the section on brandon's web site it located at: HTTP://www.brandoncole.net/gaming.htm well, these are just suggestions and my opinion, and i hope that it keeps you interested in trying it instead of saying that you are blind and can't do it or that. Re: [Audyssey] audio wrestling game
Michael, I think all of us on the list understands that. Most of us on list are totally blind or at least legally blind. I am totally blind myself. However, just because we are totally blind doesn't mean all mainstream games are completely unplayable. As many of the people on the list have suggested some of the Play Station wrestling games are fairly accessible once you memorize the menus, what buttons issues certain moves, etc. No, you might not be good at it at first, it does take practice, but many totally blind gamers on this list have founda way to play several mainstream titles. Anyway, I just thought you might like to know that just because you are totally blind you don't need to think every single mainstream game can't be played. That's simply not true. It is just harder to play than one specifically created for a totally blind player. Re: [Audyssey] audio wrestling game
Heh, though I don't hardly play videogames anymore, I still have fond memory of soul edge and tekken 2 and 3. I managed to get good enough at soul edge that none of my sighted friends would play against me anymore. Also was a fame of the king of fighters series, though admittedly I did not excel in them, only a bit above average. My regret is not being able to play the resident evil series by myself- mostly I just let someone else control the character and I acted as puzzle-solver rofl. Anyway, I agree that while hard, most of these sighted fighting games are more than a little accessible- long as one puts some time into practicing them. The one thing that always frustrated me was when my char got switched from one side to the other- since all the controls were then reversed, it took me awhile to re-orient myself. Not to mention most of my friends learned to use that weakness against me rofl- keep switching sides, and Johnny's killable! No one ever kicked ass by saying I can't.
