Seriously, shooting or at least some stratogy is needed.
If you mean just fly round in the air doing not that much then get a
sighted person to play orbit sim with you.
Play for 30 minutes, then fall assleap.
Its real boring.
ON the other hand, this is all rather general and one sieded.

asteroids was totally boring.
I played the arcade version in inform some years back.
They tried to emulate it and the emulated games bar centiped sucked.
Missile command was totally crappy.
No matter where I went, I always ended up dead.
So either all those games were just crap by default or the blind
can't play them or the implimentations were crap.
On that note we have a tank sim, a jet sim and with puppy1 a fighter
gunner sim in ww2 maybe.

and that being arcade based.

We could do the launching part, most of it is automated anyway.
In orbit sim which I played with a friend, you need to close all
doors, power up all systems, check it all works, load fuel, then push
the launch key and the computer does all the rest.

In fact in actual launch the crew doesn't have to do much its all
controled by ground systems at least till you get in orbit and need
to call out bits to the radil.

Landing on earth, maybe docking and undocking and burns are all we need to do.
And to be honest unless something goes wrong its not that bad.
Space walking after flying the shuttle to the station that could be
interesting.
there could be challenges, Obviously the game can't continue for
actual realtime gameplay, but things like staying in the airlock so
you are aclimitised for a spaciffic time, the fact you could float
away, catch something ripp your suit, drop bags, radios, etc.
Get hands jammed in equipment and other things, could be interesting
to say the least.

I have listened to spacwalks and they deffinately sound quite complex.
NOt to mention living on the station, eating food, moving round and
doing excercise, sleeping, working with robotics, experiments and other things.

All are chalenging.

we could
Orbit, dock and undock with the International space station, perform the
reentry procedures and land as realistically as possible.
I know that the program that the Astronauts use to practice with is called
PILOT.
I don't remember what it stands for though.
So far for a airplane simulator,
The best around is Three D Velocity.
For the Civilian side of the flying coin.
I'm not going to offer a recommendation.
Ron who knows with his interests, if he were sighted he knows that he'd have
a career in the air and hopefully would have earned his 1,000 hour

well Its a bit beyond our reach.
In the news it costs about 30 million to actually physically fly for a tourist.
For an astro you need to have 4 degrees in maths and other subjects
and a load of other crap that none of us let alone any normal person
not dedicated enough would be able to pass.

Even if we did, I am not sure in real life what blind astros could do.
Maybe opperate some of the less graphical systems, write things, etc
but vary little.

I think right now any real chance of any of us going up in space is
vertually nonexistant for now anyway.

In fact this applies for any disabled person.
Wheelchair people for instance wouldn't even fit inside things.
Not to mention going to the loo I here this is quite complex to.
And ofcause coming back to earth after your stay in space well
getting used to gravity is a bit of a challenge.

Unlike a game a realistic flight simulator, space simulator, whatever
requires a pretty decent amount of physics and a whole lot of math to
make absolutely realistic. Something like MS Flight Simulator is very
realistic, is good enough to train pilots on, because it has a very
realistic physics engine that behaves much like the actual aircraft
does in real life. Its difficult for an amateur developer to do if
they don't have the technical background for it. Even I would have
difficulty of creating a completely realistic flight simulator as
physics and math weren't my best subjects in college. I got passing
grades, but nothing to write home about.

well this reminds me of the nightjar but the apolo 13 mission could
be interesting.

Same concept as the night jar, or slightly worse outcome.
Something like having an explosion send the ship into deep space for
starters then the rest of actual game.
Ofcause with all the failing systems, and actually trying to get into
earth, you could either be trying to get back, or evolve the plot,
this could involve aliens both good and bad, etc.

ANd other things.
Eventually getting a better ship than you got, then fixing things
and going back.
You could have multipul endings maybe like a choose your own
adventure story but it gets complex anyway.

However its only part of fs.

Seriously, shooting or at least some stratogy is needed.
If you mean just fly round in the air doing not that much then get a

Play for 30 minutes, then fall assleap.

Re: [Audyssey] Happy Star Wars Day

2011-05-08 Thread shaun everiss

hmmm
But what does that say about his later envolvement.
He became something else.
In fact before vador struck him he had already gone, so was he able
to go to whatever when he wanted anyway and if vador killed him could
actually stay there or just go and have no reason to return.
Depending on what you acutally listen to, the actual stories or npr,
depending on what you here there are 2 versions.

At 11:55 a.m. 8/05/2011, you wrote:

Hi,

Maybe. Its more likely that Obi-Wan was just to old to fight as
effectively as he did in Revenge of the Sith. Remember 19 years had
passed between Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars A New Hope. Obi-Wan
looked to be in his 60's or 70's by the time he met Vader again, and
he was probably physically weaker and slower than Vader, or he chose
to let himself get killed for reason x. Plus by the time A New Hope
had come along Anakin had fully become Darth Vader and probably had
learned a lot more about the dark side of the force than he did 19
years previously.

If you ask me the reason Luke Skywalker managed to fight and
eventually defeat Vader had nothing to do with skills or powers, but
Vader's emotional weakness. Say what you will about Darth Vader he
had really and truly loved Padme. That made him unable to kill his
only son, and his daughter as well. That emotional bond, although
distant, was enough to make him hold back and not fight as effectively
as he perhaps could have.

As it turns out in Return of the Jedi when Palpatine is trying to kill
Luke it was Darth Vader who grabs Palpatine by the throat and tosses
him into the reactor core. Apparently Vader's love for his son was
greater than the dark side and any loyalty he had to Palpatine.

It is apparent as early as Empire Strikes Back that Anakin, Darth
Vader, secretly hated Palpatine. In Revenge of the Sith, of course, we
find out why. Palpatine told Anakin if he turned to the dark side that
he'd insure Padme didn't die, but of course she does die and Anakin
goes into emotional melt down. Finding out that he had two children
who were alive and well went a long way to bring Anakin back from the
dark side and why he turned on Palpatine and threw him head long into
the Deathstar's reactor core.

Cheers!

the fuel valves, so neither my pilot nor I received it... until I
checked for caution and warning signs on the onboard computer and
found out. Then it took me about another hour to find where that

An Apollo mission simulation would really be awesome, especially
if it had realistic sound effects with the right timing. I would
like to have a set of such games that take you from training to
returning from the moon, including lunar exploration when both
walking and operation of a LEM. And, of course, part of it would
be leaving the Apollo spacecraft in the lunar lander and returning

New laws coming in mean that any copywrited work is not able to be

No net for like ever probably.
In that environment its going to be almost impossible to do anything

Sooner or later we will have government based controls on the net and

Hi Shane,

Like I said nothing is definite. Right now I am working my way through
the Knights of the Old Republic series and there is some great stuff
in there as well. I'm working my way through Star Wars: Knights of the
Old Republic: Deceived and it is a great read. A game based on it
would be pretty cool. The main character, a female Jedi apprentice, is

Uh, Houston? We have a problem up here! I don't remember them

visiting a friend who had a young son who was really interested in
space movies. I took a copy of Apollo 13 with descriptive
narration to show them what those movies are like. During the
movie, we were talking about what was going on in our country at
the time of Apollo 13, remembering the music and stuff. The kid
suddenly said, "Wow! You guys are talking as if this really

blew me away that he didn't know that.

An Apollo mission simulation would really be awesome, especially
if it had realistic sound effects with the right timing. I would
like to have a set of such games that take you from training to
returning from the moon, including lunar exploration when both
walking and operation of a LEM. And, of course, part of it would
be leaving the Apollo spacecraft in the lunar lander and
returning to and docking with it.

Hi Ron,

Oh, I could probably do it as well, at least a fair shuttle simulator,
but like Munawar I've got so much going on now I don't have the time.
Something else I'd love to see in accessible format is an Apaulo

Hi Imbar,

Yeah even though landing the shuttle is similar to landing a glider plane the
launch is nothing like taking off in a plane. You know in an airplane you
crank up the engines, release the brakes and roll down the runway building up
speed until you get to the correct speed to pull up and lift off of the ground.
You then ascend into the sky at what about a 30 degree angle. Now the shuttle
on the launch pad is standing vertically on it's tail attached to the huge
external fuel tank. So you are sitting on your back looking up into the sky.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and all five main engines fire up burning hydrogen and liquid
oxygen. At the same time the two solid rocket boosters ignite. All hell
brakes loose and you ascend almost vertically straight up into the sky at
thousands of miles an hour. But yeah as a shuttle sim it could be done as
easily as an airplane sim.

BTW I do not think that I would so much enjoy weightlessness with no visual
reference points, no gravity for reference etc.

I wrote Mach 1 tts specifically for my Logitech MOMO Racing steering wheel
joystick. It should work ok with other game controllers as well. However some
of the tracks may be very difficult if not impossible to drive via the keyboard.
In version 2 I have added, 6 car engine sounds to choose from, 3 wall sounds to
choose from, fuel consumption, pit roads, speech options and other game options
etc.
Note* you will need to disable your screen reader to play this game, unless you
are using a joystick.

BTW The Geneva track is probably the easiest. Then maybe the Maple Leaf
Tri-Oval.

I hope that you might give it a try.

Well Anshan launch is similar to that, except you can actually build a
same type of fuel but we have to be really smart for that. I once new
someone who made a small rocket and launched a message into space, but
that is for another list. What I think is that they have several buttons
and keys to press down on the ground and the main one is like a pedal
you press with your foot, I think that builds the pressure required for
it to create the force that will push the ship up, then when they say
launch sin process, the pedal that is pressed causes the engines to let
go of the pressure and send up the ship so fast that if anything was in
its way like a plane it would smash it to stoma and everyone on board
since it is going extremely fast.

robot like C-3PO. A cyborg is part organic part machine. Come to think
of it Darth Vader himself is a cyborg as one of his arms both legs,
etc are mechanical since Obi-Wan chopped them off in Revenge of the
Sith and left him for dead in a lava pit.

Hi Imbar,

Well, you could try Jim Kitchens Mach1 TTS. That's about as close as
you will get to a car sim right now. USA Raceway, the racing game I'm
working on, is far from complete at this point. You could also try
Topspeed 3 by Playing in the Dark. That is if you are into racing
games. Oh, and while I'm thinking of it there is a game on
Audiogames.net called Drive. That might be something you are looking
for.

Re: [Audyssey] Space sims?

2011-05-08 Thread darren harris
Hi tom,

Yeah I can see how that would be an issue.

I've played games like frontier elite 2 in the passed, it simulates space
very well. I've also played games like x beyond the frontier, whereby the
normal physics of space don't apply. Meaning if you want to stop you can and
you don't need to reverse thrust to do it.

I think the 1 thing that attracts me with space games is the sheer vastness
of them.

I don't care so much if the physics of space is right or not so much, but I
love the game to be directly affected by my interaction with it's
environment. For example, having a direct affect on the economy by trading
or manufacturing.

Am not 1 that likes or favours structured games. Whereby for example if you
get beyond a specific level you have to start doing other things. it's ok
for those things to become available, but equally it should be ok for you to
not do those things should you choose to. I like freedom of play. Whereby
you can effectively choose your own gaming experience within a particular
environment.

Don't get me wrong, if you choose to build a space station, then obviously
that has a process you need to follow in order to build it successfully. But
the point is I chose to build it.

Re: [Audyssey] Happy Star Wars Day

2011-05-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,

Well, we do know that the spirit of the person who dies in the Star
Wars universe is able to return and communicate and help the living.
Yoda says in Revenge of the Sith to Obi-Wan this is possible through
the Living Force. Which Qui-Gon Gin was an expert at, and is the first
person we know of to do it. At least in the more modern era anyway.
However, this ability to appear and to speak to the living seems to be
fairly specific to certain people.

For instance, when Obi-Wan dies he only speaks to Luke and Yoda. I
don't know if that is because the Force is required to see and talk to
him, but he never speaks to Leia who also has the Force. However,
Obi-Wan actively helps Luke become a Jedi and councils him in his
early years as a Jedi Knight.

In the Star Wars Legacy series after Jason kills Mara she returns as a
Force spirit. She speaks to Luke and Ben Skywalker, but doesn't seem
to speak or communicate with anyone else. Not even Jaina who she had
taught. However, in the FOTJ series she does speak to Janan Korr
letting him know of a plot to clone Force users so perhaps they aren't
limited to certain people. Interesting enough we do get something of
an answer about life after death in the Star Wars FOTJ series.

In FOTJ Ben and Luke enter a place called the Lake of Apparitions
where Mara's spirit tells them that death is a time of reflection and
a place to lookback on the things one has done both good and bad.
Anakin Solo's spirit is there as well so it seems to be a place where
the spirits of the Jedi go after dying. Although, the book doesn't
mention it perhaps Yoda, Obi-Wan, and all the other Jedis is there
too.

Cheers!

Hi Imbar,

Yeah even though landing the shuttle is similar to landing a glider plane
the launch is nothing like taking off in a plane. You know in an airplane
you crank up the engines, release the brakes and roll down the runway
building up speed until you get to the correct speed to pull up and lift
off of the ground. You then ascend into the sky at what about a 30 degree
angle. Now the shuttle on the launch pad is standing vertically on it's
tail attached to the huge external fuel tank. So you are sitting on your
back looking up into the sky. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and all five main engines
fire up burning hydrogen and liquid oxygen. At the same time the two
solid rocket boosters ignite. All hell brakes loose and you ascend almost
vertically straight up into the sky at thousands of miles an hour. But
yeah as a shuttle sim it could be done as easily as an airplane sim.

BTW I do not think that I would so much enjoy weightlessness with no
visual reference points, no gravity for reference etc.

In version 2 I have added, 6 car engine sounds to choose from, 3 wall

Hi Shaun,

Well, I can say that Asteroids 98, a remake by Activision for Win 98,
wasn't boring. Besides better graphics and sounds it had a more
complete plot than the original Asteroids of the 1980's. Basically,
the in-game story was you were sent out to stop these asteroids from
hitting earth. As you played you found out the asteroids were a weapon
used by an alien race, the crystal aliens, who were trying to start a
war with Earth and whipe us out. Of course, besides asteroids there
were space snakes, UFOs, and even space probes. There were a number of
different types of asteroids like ancient energy asteroids,
indestructable asteroids, etc which made things certainly interesting.
Asteroids 98 was awesome.

Cheers!

I know some Sith can do that or something similar at any rate. Look at
Gantoris and Kyp Durron, both of whom briefly fell under the dominion of
Exar-Kun. In fact if I'mnot mistkane Gantoris was killed by Kun's spirit.
And then of course there was Freedon Nadd, who led Kun down the dark path to
begin with. I don't know if it's the same when Sith do it or if they
actually have to bind their spirits to a specific object or location in
order to communicate with the living. After all Exar-Kun sealed his spirit
in those temples on Yavin IV, one of which of course served as the location
of the rebel base and later the Jedi Academy.

Obi-Wan chopped off both legs with his light saber while Anakin was
jumping. I can definitely tell you he didn't lose his legs because of

Re: [Audyssey] Happy Star Wars Day

2011-05-08 Thread Clement Chou
Nope... Obi-Wan physically chopped them off himself. And it might be
different in the movie, but in the book it's Anakin's left arm which
obi-wan slices through. So I was wrong... he still had one limb left.
Here's the passage from the novel:

Obi-Wan turned his dive into a forward roll that left him barely
teetering on the rim of a low cliff, just above the soft black sand of the
riverbank. Anakin snarled a curse as he realized he'd been suckered, and
leapt off his droid at Obi-Wan's back- Half a second too slow.
Obi-Wan's whirl to parry didn't meet Anakin's blade. It met his knee.
Then his other knee.
And while Anakin was still in the air, burned-off lower legs only
starting their topple down the cliff, Obi-Wan's recovery to guard brought
his blade through Anakin's left arm above the elbow. He stepped back as
Anakin fell.
Anakin dropped his lightsaber, clawing at the edge of the cliff with
his mechanical hand, but his grip was too powerful for the lava bank and it
crumbled, and he slid down onto the black sand. His severed legs and his
severed arm rolled into the lava below him and burned to ash in sudden
bursts of scarlet flame.

Hi,

Well, at least from what I read most Sith spirits are confined to a
certain place like a temple or tomb. Although, Exar Kun's case might
be different considering he used the Massassi Temples to escape the
Jedi Knights who were hunting him in the Knights of the Old Republic
series comics. They killed his body, but Kun managed to seal his
spirit in the Mesassi temple until someone could set him free. Which
happened in the Jedi Academy series.

Re: [Audyssey] Apollo 13 - Re: Apollo - Re: Space sims?

2011-05-08 Thread Thomas Ward
HI Charles,

Well, I'm not really that surprised. Besides the fact this kid was
young, hadn't had history yet, etc I've generally found that most
people are really uneducated when it comes to history in general. I've
found all too many times people said history was boring, they slept
through class, and they don't really know anything about it other than
a few facts here and there they picked up somewhere. Even then what
history they do know, or think they know, usually is white washed
facts that passes for history in our schools today.

For instance, how many people were involved in the Lincoln
assassanation? If you are like most people you will mention John Wilks
Booth and forget everyone else involved in the plot to kill Lincoln.
The real truth is there was several people involved directly with the
Lincoln assassaination, and several cabinit members were attacked the
same night as Lincoln. John Wilks Booth was killed while trying to
escape, but several other members of the conspiracy were rounded up
and put on trial. In the end four people were hanged for conspiracy,
and four others were sent to prison. For some reason this part of the
Lincoln assassination is rarely discussed. Its not even in the school
books. Yet that is what really happened and is a matter of public
record if anyone wants to look into it further.

Its cases like this that really disgust me about the American school
system. The history books maybe have one or two pages dedicated to any
specific person or event and skip over the deeper truths and history
behind what happened. For most people that's enough. The day people
graduate from high school they just stop studying history, and that is
very sad because history is extremely interesting if presented
correctly. The Apaulo 13 mission is a case in point of history that
is very interesting and has books and movies written about it. There
is really no excuse not to know about it.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] Happy Star Wars Day

2011-05-08 Thread Bryan Peterson
Of course if he hadn't survived it's entirely possible that the Emperor
wouldn't have been defeated. Vader, or perhaps Anakin reborn would be more
accurate, was after all the one who killed the Emperor to save Luke. You
could argue the same point for Lord of the Rings, since it's entirely
possible that if Bilbo had killed Gollum in The Hobbit, or if Sam or Frodo
had done so later, that Frodo would have been unable to destroy the ring.
Heck, it's entirely possible that they might have failed even if Frodo had
succeeded in turning GOllum back to good. And he almost succeeded in that
and might have if not for Faramir. But the same principle applies in Star
Wars. If Anakin had died that day on Mostafar it's entirely possible that
the Emperor might eventually have overcome the rebels.

That's kind of like what you were talking about when you were saying how
people associated three-headed dogs and other monsters with Harry Potter
alone yet don't realize that they've appeared in legends from all over the
world. Obviously Fluffy was based on Cerberus or Kerberos depending on your
translation. I'm not sure what the real Boggart is (although I'm pretty sure
it doesn't assume the form of a person's greatest fear), but I do seem to
recall it being a real creature of folklore. Kapas are from Japanese legend
I believe. THe point is they get fixated on one idea and forget or don't

Cheers!

[Audyssey] history -Re: Apollo 13 - Re: Apollo - Re: Space sims?

2011-05-08 Thread Charles Rivard
The teacher of history has a lot to do with how much we know. I still have
a mental block, although I really shouldn't, when it comes to history. Our
junior high and high school history was an old woman who, at the beginning
of the class, told us the points of the chapter to remember. Then she would
say something like, "There are 45 minutes remaining in the period. Read the
chapter silently. What you don't finish in class is your homework." Our
classes were 50 minutes in duration, so you know how much time she spent.
If someone raised their hand to ask a question, it was asked, and then she
usually told the student to look it up. The answer is in the book. On
Friday, we were given an aural test of the week's chapters. We got blasted
if we gave wrong answers. Her comment, after the first wrong answer would
be, "Well, I can see that this class didn't do their homework, either." It
was the most boring class I ever attended, other than Latin class, which she
also supposedly taught. The same method was used in both classes.

Re: [Audyssey] Apollo 13 - Re: Apollo - Re: Space sims?

2011-05-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Bryan,

Yeah, very true. There is a lot of history, mith, and legend packed
into the Harry Potter series that most people frankly are holy unaware
of.

For instance, let's take Serious Black. There is some very special
history linked to this name. The name Serious is the name of a star
commonly known to the ancients as the Dog Star or Death Star. Not
surprisingly therefore Serious can turn into a black dog which has an
interesting legend in and of itself. According to British mith and
legend a black dog, called a Grim, symbolizes death much in the same
way some people think of black cats today. So I personally find it
interesting that Serious Black's name and dog form is tied to death
legends, but if you try and discuss this with your average Harry
Potter fan they won't know anything about it. Most of them probably
can't even tell you that Serious is a star let alone all the mith and
legend attached to it in ancient times. This kind of ignorance of
history is what really gets me upset at our school system etc.

I think the reason why so many people say history is dull, boring,
uninteresting, etc is simply the way it is taught or presented to
students. History teachers seem to focus on dry facts, names, dates,
etc rather than letting the stories tell themselves. With the total
anti-religion movement in our schools today they don't even want to
get into mith and ancient religions as that involves religious debates
and discussions. So they stick to dry, boring, and largely
uninteresting facts instead of all the cool stuff history has to
offer.

For example, I myself am a big fan of Egyptology. Have studied it in
depth since I was a kid. However, memorizing what Pharoe ruled when
and what wars he faught in is only the plane ordinary part of the
history. To really understand them as a people you have to study their
myths, their legends, their religion and you will begin to see them as
who they really were and things will get a lot more interesting.

Also there are plenty of interesting things left open to debate like
was Tutankhamun murdered? There are many people who believe this
because of a letter Queen Ankhesenamen wrote to the Hitite king
stating that she feared for her life, and she believed Ay had ordered
Tutankhamun's murder. What we do know for a fact is Ay had forced
Queen Ankhesenamen into marrying him so he could assume the thrown,
and then she vanishes from history and her body has never been found.
What we have there is a 3,500 year old murder mystery/conspiracy. So
there are plenty of interesting things to study in history if people
get passed the dry boring stuff taught in public schools.

Cheers!

 Hi Shaun,

No, not true. Grevous was a cyborg not a droid. A droid is a 100%
robot like C-3PO. A cyborg is part organic part machine. Come to think
of it Darth Vader himself is a cyborg as one of his arms both legs,
etc are mechanical since Obi-Wan chopped them off in Revenge of the

Ah ok. So Vader still had a living arm even after he was fitted with his
suit. For some reason I always thought it was the other arm that Obi-Wan cut

off. Guess my mom didn't explain that part to me right when I watched the
movie in theaters.

Cheers!

your

sure

it doesn't assume the form of a person's greatest fear), but I do seem to
recall it being a real creature of folklore. Kapas are from Japanese

I believe. THe point is they get fixated on one idea and forget or don't

Hi Bryan,

In deed. I don't recall which book it was, maybe At Don We Slept,
where the author presents some convincing evidence we knew the attack
was coming but conveniently ignored the information in order to bring
us into World War II. F.D.R. knew if we were attacked people would get
behind the war 100% and so they let Pearl Harbor happen without any
initial warning or resistance from the high command. Of course, the
U.S. government, even today, will deny that accusation, but there is
plenty of historical documentation etc to back up the claim that
F.D.R. intentionally let Pearl Harbor happen to get us into the war.
Of course, we are now getting way off topic so we should try and get
things back on topic here.

Cheers!

2011-05-08 Thread Clement Chou
There are certain areas in history that are interesting. I find
European and Asian history much more interesting than, say, Canadian
history. There just isn't anything interesting about the history of
this country... it's all trading and politics, and especially the way
it's presented in textbooks is ridiculous. I love history... always
have. But I prefer European and Asian history, especially in the
areas of mythology, military and weapons.

At 07:45 AM 08/05/2011, you wrote:

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] ways to play interactive fiction titles on the pc

2011-05-08 Thread Zachary Kline
Hi Fred,
Tads and Adrift require other programs, but Filfer will play both ZCode and
Glulx, I believe. That last might not be true, as I've not used it for some
time, and can't remember for certain. The other two mentioned systems have
their own, dedicated interpreters.
Best,
Zack.

Re: [Audyssey] ways to play interactive fiction titles on the pc

2011-05-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Fred,

It all really depends on what language the interactive fiction game is
written in. If it was written in Inform then you will need something
like Frotz or Winfrotz. If it is written in Adrift then you need
either Scare or the Adrift Runner. If it is written in Tads then you
need Wintads. There are suppose to be sort of all in one interpreters
out there, but they usually don't support everything completely. What
I mean about that is some interactive fiction games may have some
graphics and sounds. Some interpreters don't support graphics and
sounds but supports multiple interactive fiction file types. It often
is a trade-off in terms of features.

For example, an if interpreter I use for Linux is called Rogue. It
supports Tads, Adrift, and a couple of other if type games. Its a nice
handy all in one application, but there are a few accessibility issues
with it, and it lacks some features I might get with using the
official Adrift Runner for Windows. One of those being the ability to
play sounds/music in the game. So if I happen to download an Adrift
type game that has sounds that feature won't be supported using Rogue.
However, the advantages for me in using Rogue is it is supported on
Linux, supports multiple game file types, and is reasonably accessible
with Orca. So in this case I'm willing to forego the sounds/music for
non-Windows compatibility. However, if I want all the features of the
Adrift adventure format I have to use the official Adrift 4 Runner for
Windows instead.

Cheers!

Hey, I was wondering if their might be any games just like aurifi? I

But instead it being about instruments it is some kind of superhero you
