Re: [Audyssey] Flight simulator

2011-04-28 Thread Tj Squires

Hi,

it is possible for us to play some aspects of it. We can't, for
example, fly online with friends due to the lack of air trafic control.
More out there than I would probably know if that is false, however. I
play it every now and again for the offline flights.

You will need a copy of flight simulator, no earlier than 2002, the
FSUIPC program and it's your plane.

http://itsyourplane.com has all the confiiguration details.

Keep in mind, though, this isn't actually a game in the sense of the
word, but, a simulator.

I'm looking at Monday again. For those of you that may miss the second

[Audyssey] TDV Show

2011-03-07 Thread Tj Squires

Hi all,

FIrst off, let me appologise profusely. I stated that we would start at
ten eastern, however, some soundcard settings got in the way.
Therefore, we will be starting at 11:00 eastern. I will be on JJRN
until then, however, to make sure everyone gets settled.

Once again, I must appologise profusely. I didn't forsee this, and in
test runs earlier today this didn't hapen.

[Audyssey] 3d Velocity Playthrough

2011-03-07 Thread Tj Squires

Hello all,

Tonight, on the jammin Jerry Radio Network at 10:00 Eastern time join
Munawar and I for a live show about TDV! Also, I will be attempting to
beat the game in three hours. Failing this, I will be attempting to get
as far through it as I possibly can.

For those of you that do not own the game, JJRN is running a contest
from now until next Friday, in which a licenced copy of TDV is the main
prize! If you do not own the game, yet wish to, visit jjrn.net and
click on the contest page to find out how to enter!

I hope to see you there!

Re: [Audyssey] Kitchensinc was BGT problem!

2011-01-17 Thread Tj Squires

Hi,

This might be the difference in OEMs of windows, but I think Thomas you
have it backwards. I have a c:\program files and a c:\program files(x86).

On 1/17/2011 11:11 AM, Thomas Ward wrote:

Hi Jim,

First, a note. You stated that Windows 7 has "two Program Files
folders." Actually, this has to do with the fact of Windows 64-bit
editions vs 32-bit editions. Not Windows 7 vs XP.

On Windows 64-bit editions there is the typical
c:\Program Files
directory where all 32-bit applications like yours are stored. Then,
there is the
c:\Program Files 64
directory where newer 64-bit applications are stored. Since I am
running a 32-bit version of Windows 7 I only have
c:\Program Files
  and no
c:\Program Files 64.
  Hope that clears things up.

On 1/17/11, Jim Kitchen wrote:

Hi Thomas,

The only problem that I know of is that Windows 7 has two different program

fine under Windows 7.

I am wondering what market I might be concerned with. I have been enjoying
my hobby of creating computer games for over 30 years. And yes I very much
enjoy sharing them and getting feedback and suggestions, but some market?
And I very much doubt that Microsoft would support audio games in the first
place. And I wouldn't care anyway. I know that my programming is way off
from what is considered business standards. And that is perfectly fine with
me as business standards are just so that one can be replaced. You know
write the code so that it can be understood by others, so that you can be
replaced.

It doesn't cost money? Darn. I bought it back in the day.

Anyway, it's really not that hard with a little memorization. While I
totally agree with you that people should push for active accessibility
on apps, I also believe we should meet them half way. Meaning we should
go the extra mile if an app is like pretty accessible and we can figure
it out, (shoot them a note with there acessibility faults yeah), but
don't complain about it. If an app is completely crutial to your
survival, sure, ralley and send begging letters. As you'll probably
either know or find out, some companies like soul trapper will
steadfastly refuse, and others will say their looking into it to please
us, and others still will make them accessible. I don't agree that we
should all spam the developers. A patition maybe.

Hi Hayden,

You are partially correct. I did not use a semicolon at the end of my

testing it rather quickly, that it will work either way.

As a habbit, though, I would suggest putting semicolons at the end of
said statements simply to get into the habbit of using them when you
want your program to do something, in this case, include a file. If one
does not get in this habbit, you will have the exact same issue
Muhamid did.

Also, Muhamid, don't get discouraged. This doesn't come easy to some,

*Read the manual*. This is going to be your friend, lover, ally, family

BGT. That manual is the, pardon all the religious types out there,

made reguarding learnign BGT that I had posted to the blastbay forum.

Hi,

To put ti simply, if the line doesn't start a function, conditional
statement, or a loop, it should have a semicolon. For instance, switch,
if, do, while, for, and function declarations (void main(), void die(),
etc) should not have semicolons. string words; int blah; alert("Woo",
"I like myself very much,"); sound.play(); anything the directly gives
your script an action to perform or a variable to change should have a
semicolon. Again. Read the manual. It explains it better than I ever
could.

3. You have the semicollon(;)'s all in the wrong places. 4. Your

read, and understood the manual? If not, I would suggest taking some
time with it. If so, I would suggest re-reading it again. There are
many examples of a simple alert script, and how it works. If you still

tried your game yet for the same reason; a lack of time.

Subject: [Audyssey] Pull 1.3 is here!

Hi all, I'll cut to the chase. Here are the new changes.

1.3
*Decreased the area of fire from 12 units to 4, thanks members of the
Audyssey List!

*Added a pause function. Thanks Thomas!
*added a pause sound.
*Made the background ambiance loop properly. Thanks Philip and
Audyssey List!

*Updated the keys section of the manual to reflect pausing.
*Moved the checking for updates to the main menu.

Now it's time for my little blerb! I know updates are coming rather
frequently, and those of you that have played the game can tell that
it's my first time ever doing something like this. I am getting
sentamental for a minute, bare with me! I've always wanted to put
out a game, or multiple games, and am overjoyed at the chance to do
so. I must thank all of you that have given me feedback, because
it's all gone into my learning process. I wouldn't be surprised if a
few of you have rolled your eyes at the amount of updates in the last
two days, 3 actually, and said "Oh god. When will he be finally
done!" Because I know I have! Lol. Anyway, for those of you that
are enjoying the game as I am enjoying making it, I have to thank
you. It's been fun so far, and I've learned lots. For those of you
that have had the misfortune to play Car Shot, I hope that you have
or will give Pull a try, because I think it'll be much much better
for you. I'm still learning what makes a game difficult in my mind
and in code are different, so, bare wth me as I struggle through
this, and hopefully come out, when completed, with a game that people
enjoy playing. So, once again, please send your feedback my way,
weather good or bad, I could use it trust me! Also, thank you once
again for taking your time to try my little game!

A note to sean: I know you enjoy the installer, however, because of
the updator thing, and just because it's been this way from the
beginning, I think I am going to keep the game as a zip file for now,
unless people really wish for the installer. Also, I'm not sure how
Phil does it, but, being on his games list, for consistancy, I think
it would make his life a little easier too. If I don't kill him with
the ammount of updates the seem to be coming forth. *grins*.

Thanks again,

Tj

Re: [Audyssey] Initial Pull feedback.

2011-01-07 Thread Tj Squires

Hi Thomas,

Yes. This is a major flaw, and unfortunately, there is not an easy way,
for me at least, to do this in BGT as of yet. I do believe it can be
done with a .ini/cfg file or what not, however, I'm unfamiliar with file
writing functions. A lot of what has gone into Pull has been me
learning on the go, and considering I just uploaded 1.3, as to which I
will post about momentarily, I will begin looking into this, and see if
I can, until BGT oficially supports it, implement some sort of workaround.

In the first five levels, I didn't notice any change in the pacing of the

that worked nearly perfectly, despite having no effective targeting data.
This may not be what you intend.

Hi Thomas,

I just figured out how to do pausing, so, that should be in the next
version for sure. Also, for those that are curious, the pidgins speed
up i think three or four times as fast now, and the panning in which you
can shoot them down has been increased by 1/3 thus far. Anything else I
should add? Hopefully I can manage to get it right this time! *grins*.

Also, Phill, the link for Car Shot has been fixed. Sorry about that!

many numerous occasions to find audiogames.

Peter, Yes. I can figure out difficulty levels and what not, I think.

Sean, thank you. That's very useful. I'll have to study how you did it.

Christopher, Thanks for reporting it was too easy. I naturally like my
games hard, so don't know much about what other people like. I guess
I'll have to get better with skill. That brings up a good question.
How many other people think it's too slow and it needs a change?

Thanks,

Hello all,

I have now released Pull 1.0!

You have just obtained a Spas12 shotgun, and want to give it a test
run. Your friend has access to a private shooting range, and has
offered it to you for your personal use. Meeting him there, you
notice he has set up a machine to launch clay pidgins into the air.
The objective of the game is simple. Shoot them out of the air. Be
careful, though, his standing rule is you must have your gun pointed
down for safety while a pidgin is not in flight. When a pidgin is
launched, you have to lift your gun, cock it, and shoot it out of the
air. If you hit it, your score goes up by one. Every so often, you
will advance to a faster rate of flight. You, however, do not have
limmited ammunition loaded. You must time things just right so that
you have enough bullets loaded into the breach. Be careful! Your
friend is rather sinical, and will deduct your score by two if you miss.

Feel free to download it from:

http://tjsquires.net/downloads/pull.zip

For those of you that may have downloaded it previously, I wish to
ask you to redownload the new zip file, as I can't make an installer
to save my life. Smile.

I will be going back to the installer once I can figure out where I
went wrong, and therefore can release a new version.

Hope you all enjoy the game,

Hello,

Thanks to a bunch of posative feedback from people, I have release what
I hope will be the last, bug free, version of Pull. After this, I hope
to begin adding new features to the game if interest is high enough.
The changelog is below.

1.2
*fixed the game's freezing if you don't wish to play again. Thanks
*allowed the speaking of status such as ammo warning, score, and shots
remaining interrupt
*added the right shift, right alt, and right control keys as an
alternative keyset.
*Added a "Press Y or N" portion to the game over sequence.
*Made it actually say "Game Over," when you lose.
*On game over, made your ammo reset properly.
*Made the game check to see if you lose before it subtracts a score,
meaning if you're under by 5 for the level, you will not have another
shot to keep the game going.
*cleaned up the spacing and made it more consistent in the manual.
*For safety, added a disclaimer to the bottom of the manual.
*Added a primative, yet functional, update checker. Unfortunately, at
this time, you have to download updates manually. Thanks Jiminald!
