Hi Dean, Yes, the back space works in my input routine when asked to enter the name of your coach. You do not want to use any commas or punctuation. Really just letters of a name. And don't for get that you need to run the uninfoot.bat file to delete all of the football*.dat files first. Hi Dean, I was able to put my own coach name in for my team without any problem, but I had to use my arrows to find the % in the opposing teams coach and then I backed it out and then to make sure it was out I hit the delete key. I then just hit enter letting the opposing coach be whatever name it wanted to use. Hope this helps. I will try running the uninstall then installing again. I had been deleting the .dat files for the football program. There were three each time I went there. Jim, I uninstalled the football game and reinstalled it. so when setting it up I hit the backspace several times before typing my coach's name\ masters Then when it asked for my quarterback name I hit the backspace several tiomes and hit enter to let it set its own name. then when it asked for the visitor's quarterback name I backspaced several times then hit enter and accepted the name it gave me. the game started and again during the kickoff I got the error message. So now what? Hi Sharon, Cool! I'm glad that you were able to fix the problem with my football game. I guess that I should have had my input routine check for invalid characters like that. Before you fixed it I was going to say Two things that I know of that will cause that mismatch error in my football game are, one, using alt f4 to close the game, two, just pressing enter instead of typing in a name when asked for the name of your coach. What has more often than not fixed the problem is to re install the game. However you must first run the uninfoot.bat file. And if you are running Windows 7, you may need to run the uninfoot.bat file as administrator as it definitely needs to delete all of the footbal*.dat files to fix the problem. I hope that helps. Hi, Well it would be interesting to see how many others were experiencing this problem. With doing the coach picking I tried putting in a name and the other time I just let the game use its own name. Totally strange that it works on your windows 7 64 bit, but on others computers running windows 7 64 bit it doesn't work. I'm running Jim's NFL on a Toshiba with Windows 7 64-bit and have never experienced that bug. I wonder if a file must have gotten misplaced or something as I can confirm that shouldn't be happening on a Windows 7 machine. I wonder if we can figure out how many people are having this problem and then can compare notes? Hi, I wanted to let anyone who was having trouble with the football game that I finally got it to work. I had noticed that when it came to the opponents coach that there was a % sign in that field. When I removed it and put my own coach name in it I still was having the same problem, but if I just hit enter after removing the % sign it seems that I could play the game. [Audyssey] Jim Kitchen's football error help
Hi, I was wondering if anyone is having a runtime error when they play Jim Kitchen's football? When I start the game I can get as far as the kickoff of the ball to start the game, but then I get a runtime error '13' type mismatch. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
