Hi Damien, That will do it. I don't know why but the Cepstral voices are best if you don't remove them. I think they remove something the rest of the Sapi engines need, and that is why they crash. What I can suggest to fix your issue is to use the Windows restore point feature and rollback to a date before you removed Cepstral, or even better yet before you installed them. Damien Sadler wrote: Hi Thomas, Yeah, it was uninstalling Cepstral that caused mine to break. Hey All, I can remember i've had the same before, after removing nextup scansoft voices. If you have removed some voices in the past, install them again. - Regards, Leonard de Ruijter e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On zaterdag 9 augustus 2008, at 4:41:29, wrote Thomas: Hi Damien, I guess in order for us to solve your Sapi 5 issues I think it might be helpful, and try to find out how it got broke in the first place. Re: [Audyssey] Sapi problems with games
Hi Munawar, There is no need for a special program to fix that error. there is actually a Sapi program that ships with Windows you can run that corrects that particular issue. I think what we need to do is put up a faq on our web sites that addresses the common Sapi issues with known problems and solutions. If noone else is up to task with this I would be happy to write and submit such a faq. Munawar Bijani wrote: Hi, Try going into control panel and changing the voice to a Scansoft voice. Hi Bryan, When my Microsoft sapi5 voices stopped working I did a search on google for sapi5 repair and the first match was a file on the GW Micro site. The file name is deluserlex.exe. When I ran it, it seemed to do nothing. It didn't say or do anything that I was aware of, but it did fix my sapi5 voices. I hope that it might do the same for you. [Audyssey] Sapi problems
Hi all, I know this is off topic but it does affect my gaming, so I'm posting it here. I recently began experiencing a problem with Sapi 5. Can't say about Sapi 4 but Sapi 5 doesn't seem to want to run anymore. I can't use it with JAWS, and more importantly I can't play many of my favorite Kitchens Inc games. I've tried all the usual stuff, uninstalling and reinstalling the software and the voices, but it's as though Windows isn't recognizing that it's installed, even though the program says it was installed successfully. I'm wondering if this is a problem that can be fixed with relative ease or if I'll have to reformat the hard drive on my Laptop again. I doesn't say that any files are missing, but I'm wondering if that's the case, and if so where I might go to look. Any help would be appreciated. Since I might be using Sapi speach in some games I create I kinda need to get this sorted out. Bryan and Jennie ___ Gamers mailing list .. Re: [Audyssey] Sapi problems
Hi Bryan, You should check in the control panel, go to speech then choose the TextToSpeech. This will let you set the default SAPI voice from those installed and will also allow you to preview the voices. Pick one that works and see if it fixes the problem. I think most programmes that work with SAPI probably just use the default.
