[Geoserver-users] Print module feature requests

2017-05-31 Thread Paul Wittle
Hi,

Where would you put feature request discussions that relate to a particular
plugin?

We would like to know if geospatial pdf's are being investigated as an output
format for the printing plugin?

I'm aware that there is a community module which supposedly adds it as a WCF
output format but I was unable to get it to work. We have been able to manually
add the information to portrait prints which are output using ItextSharp
libraries but we are unable to do this for landscape prints due to MapFish
using the rotate 90 option when generating landscape PDF's.

We note that QGIS is able to produce geospatial PDF's which work in both
portrait and landscape so it would be great if that functionality were to make
it into GeoServer generally but I do understand they are completely independent
code bases. I only point it out as the work that project has done may be useful
in terms of scoping out dependencies that might be required.

Best Regards,
Paul

Re: [Geoserver-users] Print module

2016-04-21 Thread Jonathan Moules
Hi Paul,
We have a standalone MapFish print which isn't timing out at all at the MapFish
end, I have some requests go up to 90seconds. Any timeouts are all at the
GeoServer and/or HAProxy end (60 seconds by default). This is both MFP 1.x and
2.x. There is nothing in the config.yaml to configure timeouts.

So I wonder if a stand-alone MFP might be a solution; they're pretty easy to
setup. Timeouts for us are influenced by either the thing doing the serving
(GeoServer), or the MFP container (Tomcat).
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi,

We have just put that setting into the YAML as follows:

connectionTimeout: 9
socketTimeout: 18
brokenUrlPlaceholder: default

The result was that it still completes in around 30 seconds but with missing
layers and the following error message:

2016-04-19 17:07:58,309 ERROR [print.PDFUtils] - Server returned an error for
http://{host}/aerial/wms?BBOX=367120.90931137616%2C70718.54520964148%2C369092.93715805584%2C72076.73961963497&HEIGHT=3208&WIDTH=4658&TRANSPARENT=true&map_resolution=300&VERSION=1.1.1&FORMAT=image%2Fpng&SERVICE=WMS&format_options=dpi%3A300&LAYERS=aerial%3Avap%2Caerial%3AIR_VAP_INDEX&REQUEST=GetMap&STYLES=%2C&DPI=300&SRS=EPSG%3A27700:

A number of these settings marked since v1.2 just don't seem to work; no error
reading the YAML but they don't have any effect.

Hi Paul, I had a quick look at the code and it seems that you are right:
those settings are ignored.
I don't know if they were supported in 1.2 and deprecated in 2.x.

A patch to the library would be needed to (re)implement them.

Yes, you should ask on the MapFish list. The GeoServer extension provides
almost no special integration with the GeoServer; it is just an easier way
to deploy (one WAR instead of two.) So whatever configuration you must do
for authenticated WMS will be applicable here as well.

[Geoserver-users] Print module

2011-11-23 Thread Hugo
Hello all,

I'm using mapfish print module successfully through a web application
developed with GeoExt. Everything runs smoothly before setting a wms
service security rule.
In the app, i was having some troubles with geoserver authentication but i
was able to solve it and now all requests (wms, wms getfeatureinfo, wms
getcapabilities and wfs requests) are working fine under authentication
through a cookie with JSESSEIONID value. My only problem now is that, when
printing, all wms are not printed due to the authentication (in the pdf i
can see error 401 - access not authorized).

Is there any possibility to allow the mapfish print module override this
restriction? What approaches would you advise?
Regards,

Hugo
