The Bible and Christian tradition taught that alcohol is a gift from God that makes life more joyous but that overindulgence leading to drunkenness is a sin………There are many many many lay catholics in bombay who after attending the Sunday Mass go to the local Country liquor shop and have a quarter or half or full bottle of country liquor - some go to the local whisky-rum-brandy-beer shop and take a quarter or half or full bottle of brandy or whisky or rum - some catholic youth take beer……..unlike the parish priest who drinks a very tiny cup of wine during the Sunday mass eucharistic celebration due to which the priest remains in his senses the same is not the case with some of the lay catholics in bombay……the lay catholics are drinking bottle or bottles of country liquor or rum or whisky or brandy which results in drunkenness and they start behaving erratically or sinfullyAn interesting point to note is during the Sunday Mass only the communion bread is served for the laity and not the wine whereas Jesus Christ had shared the bread & wine with his disciples………In the Early Church both clergy and laity received the consecrated wine by drinking from the chalice, after receiving a portion of the consecrated bread. Alcohol is a product of fermented fruits, grains and honey. In this process, yeast is used to turn the sugar into alcohol. Alcohol is used in many forms like as a sedative, as a cleaner and as an antiseptic agent. The alcoholic beverages are consumed by humans, from the prehistoric period, for many reasons. Large amount of alcohol consumption leads to intoxication and hangovers. The regular intake of alcohol in high dosages, causes many long and short term effects on the various body parts, like the bone structures, bloodstream, liver, stomach, pancreas, heart, peripheral tissues and mouth. Regular or high consumption of alcohol can cause serious central nervous system disorders……Alcoholism may also lead to depression, antisocial behavior, psychosis, delusions, ataxia, seizures, craving for food and irritability. In the catholic seminaries (college where youth are trained to become priests) in Bombay the Parish Priests were not given any training on what type of sermons they should give that will enlighten the laity to improve their health & wealth………neither the Priests were trained on how they should use church funds for the benefit of the parishioners…….neither the Priests were trained on how they should utilize vacant church properties for the housing needs of the parishioners……neither the Priests were trained on what they should do to ensure that minimum 50% students in parish schools are from the catholic community. The Catholic Clergy in Bombay have programmed the native catholics of bombay to remain non-combative non-aggressive non-ambitious politicallyinactive this explains why catholics in bombay don’t have any vision and mission and courage to agitate for land rights – govt jobs – govt. housing – civic facilities……….the official magazine of the Archdiocese of Bombay also does not have any content in it that will awaken the catholic laity in bombay from their deep slumber………some lay catholics in bombay need to pool in resources and start a weekly lay catholic magazine and put content in it that will awaken the laity from their deep deep deep slumber and make the laity combative aggressive ambitious politicallyactive and make the laity agitate for land rights – govt. jobs – govt. housing – civic facilities and awaken the laity to control the corrupt activities of some of the parish priests who are misusing church funds – illegally selling away vacant church properties and siphoning off the money – refusing admission to children of poor catholics – behaving like dictators. Its time the Government of India realized the significance of the 1st day of the year and declare the 1st of every year i.e. 1st January a National Holiday...China has become a great economic power because during the last 30 years the chinese govt. followed a combination of industrial development & population control measures although because the news media & internet is censored and filtered by chinese govt. due to which issues related to human rights violation, pollution, female foeticide, labour exploitation, corruption, etc have been pushed under the carpet. The Bhaiyas and Biharis whom the Thackerays accuse of being outsiders in Mumbai, come from the region, which was a part of Ashoka the Great's empire.. We judge everything according to history and the history of Mumbai proves that its earliest known ownership was with a North Indian. The seven islands of Mumbai passed through many hands, the sultans of Gujarat , the Portuguese and the British. Every ruler left behind proof of residence in Mumbai. The Mauryans left behind the Kanheri, Mahakali and the caves of Gharapuri more popularly called Elephanta. The sultans of Gujarat built the Dargahs at Mahim and Haji Ali, the Portuguese built the two Portuguese churches, one at Prabhadevi and the other St Andrews at Bandra. They built forts at Sion, Mahim, Bandra and Bassien. The Portuguese named the group of seven Islands 'Bom Baia', Good Bay. The British built a city out of the group of seven islands and called her Bombay . The original settlers of the seven islands, the Koli fishermen, worshiped Mumbaidevi, her temple still stands at Babulnath near Chowpatty. The Kolis called the island Mumbai, 'Mumba, Mother Goddess'. In 1662, King Charles II of England married the Portuguese Princess Catherine of Braganza, and received the seven islands of Bom Baia as part of his dowry. Six years later, the British Crown leased the seven islands to the English East India Company for a sum of 10 pounds in gold per annum. It was under the English East India Company that the future megapolis began to take shape, after the first war for independence Bombay once again became a colony of the British Empire . History has forgotten this but the first Parsi settler came to Bombay in 1640, he was Dorabji Nanabhoy Patel. In 1689-90, a severe plague epidemic broke out in Bombay and most of the European settlers succumbed to it. The Siddi of Janjira attacked in full force. Rustomji Dorabji Patel, a trader and the son of the city's first Parsi settler, successfully defeated the Siddi with the help of the Kolis and saved Bombay . Gerald Aungier, Governor of Bombay built the Bombay Castle, an area that is even today referred to as Fort. He also constituted the Courts of law. He brought Gujarati traders, Parsi shipbuilders, Muslim and Hindu manufacturers from the mainland and settled them in Bombay. It was during a period of four decades that the city of Bombay took shape. Reclamation was done to plug the breach at Worli and Mahalakshmi, Hornby Vellard was built in 1784. The Sion Causeway connecting Bombay to Salsette was built in 1803. Colaba Causeway connecting Colaba island to Bombay was built in 1838. A causeway connecting Mahim and Bandra was built in 1845. Lady Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy, the wife of the First Baronet Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy donated Rs 1, 57,000 to meet construction costs of the causeway. She donated Rs. 1,00,000 at first.. When the project cost escalated and money ran out half way through she donated Rs 57,000 again to ensure that the vital causeway was completed. Lady Jamsetjee stipulated that no toll would ever be charged for those using the causeway. Today Mumbaikars have to pay Rs 75 to use the Bandra-Worli Sealink, connecting almost the same two islands. Sir J J Hospital was also built by Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy. The shipbuilding Wadia family of Surat was brought to Bombay by the British. Bombay based RTI – Civic – Citizen – Environmental Activists & Bombay based associations forums sabhas & any bombay based citizen who are interested in doing any good for bombay then they should agitate for the following : Political parties who have not disclosed on their websites sources of election funds should be disallowed from fielding their candidates in bombay……any political party candidate or independent candidate who is associated directly or indirectly with the builders lobby, corporate lobby, slumlords, landmafia, criminals, religious groups, casteists groups, fundamentalist groups, terrorist groups, facist groups should be disallowed from contesting elections in bombay. Marathi people account for 35% of bombays population and their share in jobs in BMC, Police, Collectorsoffice, city survey office, mantralaya, rationoffice, urban development dept, town planning dept, mmrda, mhada, other administrative depts. of maharashtra government in bombay, central/state/publicsector undertakings in bombay, etc should be restricted to 35%. The other 65% jobs should be shared by other communities (gujratis, parsis, eastindians, kolis, goans, mangaloreans, jains, sindhis, south indians, north indians, Punjabis, south indians, muslims, etc etc etc) living in Bombay. Indian Govt. & Maharashtra govt. collects every month from Bombay thousands or Lakhs of crores of rupees through income tax, customs duty, import duty, excise, sales tax, vat, stamp duty, wealth tax, sale of govt. – collector land, profession tax, etc etc etc. Most of this revenue is diverted for the benefit of other states in India and backward districts of Maharashtra. Its time a fund is created for Bombay and 25% of the revenues accumulated from bombay through income tax, stamp duty, customs duty, sale of govt. land, excise, etc is deposited every month in this Bombay fund and this fund is exclusively used for the benefit (better public utilites, better civic facilities, bigger water pipes, better roads, better public transport, better hospitals, etc) of bombay citizens. Bombays name was changed to Mumbai without a referendum from the citizens of bombay. A referendum should be held and if majority of citizens suggest the name Mumbai should be changed to Bombay then the citys name should be changed to Bombay. Anyone in bombay resorting to riots, corruption activities, taking bribes, aborting female foetuses, food adulterators, punching holes in water pipes to steal water, grabbing govt. & collector land, encroaching openspaces – mangroves – saltpanlands – sanjay gandhi national park, etc should be given minimum 10 years rigorous imprisonment. Any Hindu, Muslim, Christian religious or political leader in bombay who opposes two child policy should be expelled from Bombay. Polygamy should be banned in bombay. MHADA, builders, Corporates who want to construct any residential or commercial building in bombay exceeding Five floors should first get the NOC from local citizen associations of the area where the building or tower will be constructed. Since old buildings & new buildings get the same civic facilities hence the system of charging more property tax for new buildings is illegal & unjustified. Property tax system should be changed and any flat that measures less than 500 sq. ft. should be charged per month a certain amount and above 500 sq.ft. a certain amount above 1000 sq.ft. a certain amount. 25% of Mill land in Bombay should be utilized for gardens, playgrounds, recreations facilities & 25% for setting up public utilities & the rest 50% for Residential & Commercial buildings. Indian Parliament, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, BMC Committees should take Opinions of bombay based RTI – Civic – Citizen - Environmental Activists in all matters ( FSI, TDRs, Stampduty, propertytax, watertax, etc) related to Bombay. CORRUPTION in CHURCH in INDIA: Christian (catholic/protestant) Missionaries in India receive more than 75% of their funds from some organizations in America, Canada, Europe & Australia. The Missionaries use all the funds for setting up ashrams & dispensaries only where the Dalits, Tribals & Slumdwellers live and try to lure the dalits, tribals, slumdwellers to Christianity by allurement & fraudulent means. Some of the Dalit, Tribals & Slumdwellers who were converted to Christianity now want the Christian missionaries to stop conversion activity in India for the next 100 years and utilize the foreign funds for the benefit of those who have been already converted. The Catholic Clergy believe they are the Kings & Bosses of the Church and don’t bother to respond to the queries of the catholic laity. Impressed by the demonstrations by Team Anna now some lay catholic associations also want to take to the streets and demonstrate at the gates of the local church and Archbishops house to find out how church funds are utilized, how much vacant properties in possession of church and which properties have been sold at what rates and to

All EastIndians in Bombay have Christian names and have deep faith in Lord Jesus Christ & Blessed Mother Mary. But because of the loss of their agricultural lands in bombay and the genetic problem of alcoholism & infighting the eastindians are suffering. Some EastIndian associations are only interested in organizing singing competition food festival dance competition instead of organizing political demonstrations at azad maidan shivaji park mantralaya parliament to demand a 5% quota in govt. jobs & govt. housing in bombay for eastindians. To be sure, the Shiv Sena has always acknowledged the aboriginal status of the East Indians. In a letter to the East Indian Journal (Page 5, issue dt. 15 January 1968) Sena chief Bal Thackeray tried to find Christian recruits for his fledgling chauvinistic organisation. Bal Thackeray wrote “The East Indians, who are essentially Maharashtrians, have also suffered,” he said. “Being sons of the soil, they find themselves strangers in their own land. Their ancestral lands are acquired, their houses are ruined. For want of money their children cannot get higher education, and for want of higher education, they cannot get better jobs.” His letter came only a few years after a community debate about its nomenclature. Many wanted to be called Maharashtrian Christians instead of East Indians to reflect their cultural milieu better and to shed the colonial past. The Sena’s position hasn’t changed since Mr. Thackeray’s letter. The Marathi manoos have monopolized the name Maharashtrians for themselves due to which it is unlikely any eastindian or koli can identify with the name Maharashtrian. There is no ideology in India only castelogy. But the most dangerous type of discrimination is monopoly of the Marathi manoos on BMC, Police, Collectorsoffice, city survey office, mantralaya, rationoffice, urban development dept, town planning dept, mmrda, mhada, politics and other administrative depts. of maharashtra government in bombay. Will the Marathi people share some of the jobs in BMC, Police, Collectorsoffice, etc with EastIndians & Kolis ? The Indian Government is preparing the 12th Five year plan www 12thplan gov in . What is the point in preparing such plans when the previous 11 plans could not lift people out of poverty even today majority of rural folks survive on less than Rs.20/- a day and most urban folks survive on less than Rs.40/- a day. China govt controlled Chinese population which enabled the Chinese govt. to uplift millions of Chinese out of poverty. China is now a economic power and a great military power. The Godless Americans are really worried of China and are trying to prop-up India to counter China. Nothing is as long and as boring as a Roman Catholic mass. There was absolutely nothing exciting in Sunday mass. Once you had memorized every hymn and prayer, and knew exactly when to stand, kneel and sit, there was really nothing left to hold your interest. But of course you can't fall asleep, or make any noise or touch anything, or you might go to Hell. The length of the mass was especially dependent on two things: 1. If there was a priest that insisted on singing the various gospels and psalms, or if they spoke it. 2. The length of the homily (sermon)….At least when the homily was finished, you know you were almost done. Then you could go home, and enjoy the best part of the week: the point at which the next mass is furthest away. Just thinking of that was enough to get you through the last fifteen minutes or so of the Sunday mass. IF GOD ATTENDED A SUNDAY MASS HE WOULD PROBABLY SAY “OH COME ON! THE PRIEST BETTER KEEP THE HOMILY SHORT AND SNAPPY!". Heart wrenching poverty, potholed roads, traffic jams, overcrowded trains & buses, water shortage, overflowing gutters, garbage, an all pervading stink, increasing slums, broad daylight encroachment of openspaces mangroves saltpanlands, stress & frustration due to poor management. Who is to be blamed? The Corporator who is powerless? The Bombay Muncipal Corporation (BMC), who is accountable to the Maharashtra State? The Maharashtra State, which is burdened with too
