[google-appengine] Re: unable to configure SSL to my custom domain in both SNI and VIP

Hi,

did you get this resolved? I am in the exact same situation and it's really
frustrating.

Nothing in the logs that would help. I tried to get support from Google
Apps 4 Business but no useful response.

Thank you,

Robert

Re: [google-appengine] App Engine Id

2012-11-16 Thread Igor Kharin
YouTube ID may differ from a Google Account one, so your best bet is
to email clou...@gmail.com and ask them to sell you account or
register an appid for you (set you as Owner).

I'll try to clarify Barry's answer: my GMail address is igorkharin,
that also reserves the same App Engine ID so no one other than me can
register it. That happen to be useful for me a couple times, but also
makes finding a free appid really hard. And yes, at the same time
someone might just have taken the ID and there's no clou...@gmail.com
account whatsoever.

[google-appengine] Re: What to do if you have problems signing up for an App Engine account

2012-11-16 Thread Andrew Pham
Hello Amy!

I just recently picked up a new number and cell phone plan, and would like
to change the SMS or mobile phone number associated with my Google App
Engine account, since the number that I initially used to register with was
associated with some free texting service online. Alternatively, I would
like to completely purge App Engine from my Google account, so that I can
at least reregister for App Engine with my new number.

How can I go about enacting these changes? Who do I turn to for assistance
with these issues?

Thanks!

P.S. - When I click the link below, I get a listing of my applications

Hi Mike,

For saving the datetime data the filed's datatype should be "datetime". It
seems you are using "int" datatype.

[google-appengine] Re: yellow clock. Appengine hangs

2012-11-16 Thread Blaine Hodder

Hi Catoto,

I am at work right now, and don't have access to the imac I was trying to
run GAE on... however I am pretty certain there was not an "import webob"
in the code. If I recall correctly, the import statement in the .py file
was 'import webapp2'.

The code was simply the standard hello world code generated by appengine
when I created a new project. I'll get you a screenshot of the error when
I get home, however what I posted before was a direct copy/paste from the
log:

*** Running dev_appserver with the following flags: --admin_console_server=
--port=8081 Python command:

I'll also double check the import statement and print an ls of the GAE lib
directory. I would have assumed when I downloaded GAE, the necessary
modules would be in the correct location, but perhaps that is it.

I am sadly getting close to giving up on GAE.

Thanks again for the help,

Blaine

Re: [google-appengine] Re: What to do if you have problems signing up for an App Engine account

The number is only used once to initially verify the account. You dont
need to change it to keep it current.

As you say you can see your list of apps, so have no further use for
SMS verification.

[google-appengine] Re: yellow clock. Appengine hangs

2012-11-16 Thread Kord Campbell
Something is (obviously) preventing the process from starting. Just in
case, kill GAE Launcher (alt-right click if it won't stop) and then start a
terminal and type 'ps -ax |grep 8080'. If you get a process back, you've
got a hung dev server. Kill it with 'sudo kill -9 ' and see if
that fixes it.

Double check you don't have anything else listening on 8080 by doing a
'netstat -an |grep 8080'.

Lastly, throw a '--debug' in your extra flag field and watch the log window
for something obvious to pop out at you. Paste it here if you like!

[google-appengine] Check Our AppEngine Powered Chrome Plugin

2012-11-16 Thread Brandon Wirtz

This is our latest AppEngine App. We will have an API shortly. Drop me an
email at Brandon at Stremor dot Com if you are interested access to the API
which provides sentence segmentation; keyword analysis; extractions of
people, places, dates, phones; sentiment analysis; reading level; technical
level; formality analysis; tense and person agreement checking; and more...

Oh, and if you hit the Find More Like button you get an early prototype of
our search.

*Too lazy to read? Let TLDR shorten it for you.*

TLDR Plugin (beta) is an extension that reduces the length of any web article
without leaving the original page.

Overview:

Stremor’s TLDR Plugin (beta) extension provides a streamlined way to get
condensed views of articles online for quick and easy reading. Powered by
Liquid Helium, the plugin analyzes the content and creates summarized versions
in four different lengths on any web page, including web applications such as
Gmail, ZenDesk, SalesForce, SugarCRM, and many more.

Features:

TLDR Plugin provides the finest, fullest-featured content summarization
available online:
• Creates fast 350 +/- word executive summaries of any page
• Delivers three synopsized versions of about 25%, 50% and 75% of original
article length
• Preserves the structure of the original article
• Summaries pop-up as an overlay on the web page
• Uses language heuristics for highly readable summaries and synopses
• User-defined default summarization configuration
• Works on secure HTTPS pages (must be enabled in options)
• Users can define specific text on any page to summarize
• “Find More Like This” feature uses heuristics for more specific search results

More Information:

TLDR Plugin (beta) is available for free and requires no account or other
activation.

More Details (non-TLDR version)

Too long; didn’t read...

One of the incredibly useful ways in which our language heuristics technology
can benefit the average web user is in the real time analysis of content. By
going beyond simple natural language processing and using heuristics to
actually understand copy, we can make instant decisions that benefit the web
experience.

For the casual content consumer, something we all do, using that understanding
of the content to synopsize long-form material down to eloquently short
versions has tremendous advantage.

A common problem...

We’ve all been there before. You find an interesting link only to land on a
long page of content that you simply don’t have the time or inclination to read
-- or at least you need to know if you should invest the time to read it. Other
times you click a link only to realize, halfway through the article, that the
headline was misleading, wasting your time. Someone should step in to solve
this travesty before anyone gets hurt.

Our TLDR plug-in is just the ticket...

We understand that your time is valuable. Stremor’s TLDR plug-in is the ideal
solution for everyone from lazy underachievers to time-starved college
professors. Wrapped up in a convenient plug-in for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox,
it shortens the text of any Web page viewable in your browser.

But wait there’s more! If you realize the page isn’t exactly what you wanted,
use the “Find More Like” feature to find similar documents on the web. Liquid
Helium will analyze the document and find you more articles on the subject,
offering choices with greater specificity, or on related subjects (or that are
just plain better written).

So is it magic?

Yes. All science sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic. Stremor
uses Liquid Helium, our language heuristics engine, to analyze and understand
long-form content, then synopsizes it. Reducing content to a more desirable
length of text, along with analyzing language and writing. We use “fluff”
detectors that can remove sentences that are extraneously long, wordy, overly
detailed, repetitive, redundant, unnecessary (or basically sentences like this
one). This leaves you with a concise version of the document that can be easily
expanded back if parts or all of an article sparks your interests.

[google-appengine] Extract data from Datastore

2012-11-16 Thread Steven Zeng
Hi, I am new to GAE and have a lot of questions related to getting data in
& out.

I have one application that uses high availability datastore. This
application collects data from my customers, and I need to send a subset of
data the app collects everyday to my business partners on a regular basis.

Here are my questions:
1. How can I backup data in the datastore on a regular basis, say
daily incremental backup and weekly full backup?
2. what are the best practices to generate daily data dump files that can
be downloaded or send to my partners in a secured approach. I expect few
hundred mega data everyday and eventually will be in Giga range.
3. Can my client be authenticated though basic HTTP auth, or have to use
OAuth?

Thanks in advance!
