[hlds] StackOverflow for Game Servers
Apologies in advanced for this slightly off-topic post, but I think it's relevant to this list. StackExchange (the thing that powers StackOverflow) is accepting proposals for new Q&A sites. So I submitted one for game servers. I thought it was a good idea since the topic isn't really covered yet in this format. Anyway, in order to get to the next stage it needs to get 60 followers. So if you like the idea, you can help out by following via the link below. If not, please disregard this post. http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/12553/game-servers?referrer=S0s951R7rmJUZvrx04eTvg2 If you aren't familiar with this type of site, it is basically a Q&A site that allows users to ask and answer question. Good answers are voted up until the best answer is chosen. This helps people looking for answers in the future to sift through the noise. I think it's a perfect format for game server questions. Re: [hlds] Help With "sv_pure" Settings to Block Cheating
Bypassing consistency is easy, bypassing pure is harder. No combination or configuration will make harder since kigen's tool will attempt to Jerusalem alongside settings. It is rendered impotent once cvars are renamed. I would write a serverside anticheat if I got paid for it. Otherwise, you are doing the best you can. You may contact me off list of you want to discuss this further. On Jul 10, 2010 10:38 PM, "Mike Vail" wrote: Hello Fellow Server Ops, Our Community has 5 CSS Servers. Re: [hlds] Help With "sv_pure" Settings to Block Cheating
sv_pure 1 and setup your whitelist to allow sprays and the models that you use. Whatever the paths are to the models and materials they use will need to be whitelisted. Sprays is already in the file. sv_consistency 1. Get a voteban feature. On Sat, Jul 10, 2010 at 7:34 PM, Mike Vail wrote: > Hello Fellow Server Ops, > > Our Community has 5 CSS Servers.
