There's my SourceMod extension to change the team size for arena beyond 
the normal limits. If there are any problems with it, please post them 
in the extension's thread instead of bringing them up here, that way it 
keeps things more organized.

Sourcemod comes thru again, nice work.

As for setting maxplayers to 32 and visible players to 24, i tried this but
the server crashed when player 25 tried to connect. Cannot confirm, but it
may have something to do with sourcemod running on the server.

Devicenull has released a basic plugin to get rid of the "waiting to play team" 
so its 12 on 12 and 16 on 16 (crazy) or w/e your maxplayers is.

It hasn't crash beacuse no one try a connect on your server while it's full,
I just try  with those settings with a full server, then i connect via
console and i crash the server.

I was able to get 11v11v2 on a 24 slot server by setting +maxplayers 24,
then in the config_arena.cfg set maxplayers 32 & sv_visiblemaxplayers
24.  Hasn't crashed on me yet.

There's three teams! 32/3 = 10.6 == 11v11v10. You need a plugin to
override this behavior, unless I'm terribly misinformed. the 12v12
thing valve mentioned was a mistake.

i had some success (sort of...) by increasing maxplayers to 32, managed to
get 11v11. Only problem with this is that its not a 32 players server, only
24, so when player 25 tries to join, server dies.

Anyone else had any more progress on this yet?

yeah, the gameplay mode is good imo, coz you have to be more careful not to
die, as mentioned, like permanent sudden death. But it would be much nicer
if everyone could play at the same time, instead of having to wait.

here. Really need to get this sorted as i could include arena maps in the
normal rotation but of couse no-one wants to wait to play. 12v12 should mean
everyone plays, all the time!
