Your 32 player server hacks are out of date.

Valve was nice enough to include that message to tell us we need to update
our plug-ins that bypass the 24 limit.

Ok Looks like a vanilla install of the server does not report that it is out
of date. Must be
a server.dll or admin mod/mm problem. If someone has an update server.dll
and would
like to share it with everyone?

Re: [hlds] TeamFortress 2 dedicated server update

2007-11-08 Thread David Anderson

A long time ago we requested a user-editable file for loading alternate
game dlls and it got denied. We also requested a command line parameter
which got "accepted" but never added; though that isn't as useful anyway
because game server providers usually don't give access to the command line.

Andreas, if you are looking for an alternate solution, please post on
our forums ( http://forums.alliedmods.net/forumdisplay.php?f=74 ) and
we'll think of something.

Gameinfo.txt is controlled by TF, it isn't a user editable
file. We have made the motd and mapcycle user editable so
they won't get touched with each update (however, they will
reset if you do a "-verify_all", which is by design :)

I did the update and now I still get the message "Your server is out of date.
Please update and restart." Yet i can now connect to the server and play. I run
a couple 32 player servers and this happens on all of them. Am I correct in
assuming this is due the the 32player server.dll? and once their is an updated
version this will not be a problem for me?

RE: [hlds] TeamFortress 2 dedicated server update

2007-11-08 Thread Mark Chandler
I don't know why the updater doesn't implement the gcf files that the client
uses instead of having each file by itself.

Use it in the same way that the gcf file downloads to srcds/data and then
the files in the game folder overwrite the files in the gcf (if they are in
the same loc with same name)

Mark

I am getting "Failed to load the launcher DLL. Specified module could not
be found." now after the update when I try to launch tf2. Clearly the
appropriate move is to shut my tf2 server down until 6 months pass so maybe
that you have worked out some of the bugs.

RE: [hlds] TeamFortress 2 dedicated server update

2007-11-07 Thread Scott Tuttle
U..

Why are you updating gameinfo.txt with the exact same file that was pushed
out in the last update?

For the love of everything good implement the whitelist update change I
suggested or just don't update files such as this one unless a change REALLY
happened and needs to be pushed out

Alfred, please post to hlds_announce when there's an update. I have that
programmed to txt me and otherwise I don't see these for 30 minutes,
typically, since you guys always seem to release on nights when I'm not at
