Does this content originate from some distinguishable location? As a GSP,
I'd rather block the ads all-together (via iptables, etc) than potentially
advertise a competitor on my own servers.

I want to know when they will solve the age old:

Checking bootstrapper version ...
Updating Installation
Updating 'Linux Server Engine' from version 1 to version 2
Downloading: .\core_i386.so
Downloading: .\engine_amd.so
Connection Reset
Every time an update comes out. They say the network will support it,
but it never does. Perhaps you have to live in America. Although with
a direct connection to WorldCom and Level 3 I would have thought it
would be okish.

Re: [hlds_linux] Server update

2003-11-13 Thread Mad Scientist
Great update

I see the following improvements:

- When a user is downloading maps and other CONTENT from my server,
they are now mislead to believe another company is providing that
CONTENT. Meanwhile, I pay for the bandwidth and somebody else is making
money off of the marketing. I'm sure glad you fixed that banner slot.

- Flaginfo still DOES NOT WORK in TFC. It's not like flaginfo is very
important - it's only the main objective of the game.

I'm too tired to test the other TFC bugs since I assume none of them
were fixed.

In other news, after being an exclusive HL server shop for four years,
we know have UT2K3 and ET servers in test. They should provide a nice
change.

RE: [hlds_linux] Kernel hz patch

2003-11-13 Thread Jakob andreen
Ok, tested but nothing happened. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/linux# patch -p1
/root/variable-hz-rml-2.4.20-pre10-ac2-1.patch

That's what I did but nothing happens, just was that way for 5 mins then I terminated
it. Oh well, guess I'll just install 2.6* soon instead.

go into your kernel source and do
 patch -p1 <../(directorytopatch)/(patchname)

If you see any rejects then you will have to manually patch the patch in.
 ( ie
go line by line and add in the code )

 Subject: [hlds_linux] Kernel hz patch

Hello, got a question for the hz patch.

I'm using Slackware 9.1 with the 2.4.21 kernel and I would like to apply
the
1000hz kernel patch. I don't know how to do it or where to download the
patch(searched on ftp.kernel.org but didn't find it) so if I could get a
URL
and what to do when you've downloaded it please?
