Yeap that is just HLSW checking to make sure it has control or something
like that. It wasn't the mygot dude. Peronsally I would grab his steam and
ban his steam and IP but that's just me.

Pretty sure that's just an HLSW bug as IIRC that port is just for HLSW.

[hlds_linux] An issue??

2004-12-10 Thread InspectorGifts
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
--
[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
Just a bit ago, I was watching one of our servers and noticed a [myGot] god
or similar spelling hehe sitting in our server alone. As I was watching via
hlsw, I noticed the following changing:

20:02:58 L 12/10/2004 - 19:58:32: server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "7130"

20:02:58 L 12/10/2004 - 19:58:32: server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "7130"

20:02:58 L 12/10/2004 - 19:58:32: server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "10"

Now I notice 7130 is the port for the logaddress function, is something
screwy occurring and how would this freak have access to changing the cvars?
What was he trying to accomplish? Or am I just dumb lol?

2004-12-10 Thread admin
Lol. Im wondering what spell checker / grammar checker he used. He got the
dollar store version im afraid lol.

The best part tho is that he is able to offer CS at $3 a slot using "the
fastest multiprocessing servers made to date"

Anyone wanna venture a guess at how many clients hes got to have on a box to
make money on that? lol It would have to be dual xeon 3.6ghz or opteron
850's to make his advertising statement true. To rent a box like that with
the amount of BW and ram you would need to put enough clients on to make
money would cost you 300+ a month. If he built it then colo it it would be
at least 100-200 for colo fees (using the amount of bw he would) plus the
initial outlay of $3k+ per box. You couldnt put that many people on a box
using IDE so it would be SCSI HDDS and the procs are easily 800-1200 per.

Re: [hlds_linux] multi_manager

2004-12-10 Thread kennycom
The .bsp is just plain scoutzknivez.bsp, here is a line out of the readme..
CS:Source scoutzknivez created by: [Simiancage]Imp

I did contact Imp and got a reply, here is the jist of his reply...
[quote]
Yes I am having problems with the multi_manager which removes the scouts from
the players for the next round, when I made the map only part of the SDK was
out and was waiting for the full version (help files).

The version out was meant to be a BETA but I fucked up and made it Master!!
I will make the changes to fix the map JUST to stop everyone GIVING ME SHIT!!
Thank you for giving me the link it will help me in fixing SZ
[/quote]

I had sent him the link to that valve-erc.com site. He was actually being
comical in his reply there even though it might look as if he was being pissy.

Has anyone tried it?

I got it to work, but when I connected it was bugs galore.

No matter what I did, I could'n stick to one player, it was constantly
switching no matter what I tried to do. :(

Also, I couldn't get a slave hltv to connect. I just wanted to record
demos 24x7 so I can review some demo after players complaints.

For me only right argument is to pragram it both ways, compare and draw a

really those in the USA, and I still feel that someone like that - you
should directly be taking this up with [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of here

Also, I couldn't get a slave hltv to connect. I just wanted to record

I take it it is more a map related problem then. The server is running
scoutzknivez as the only map at the moment as per request of the clan that the
server is hosted for. I did find information at www.valve-erc.com on the entity
I/O ststem stuff and it looks like an issue the map maker would need to resolve

Ty for the information...
