Re: [hlds_linux] New browser engine support for steam?
Even after you uninstall IE in Windows 7 the dlls that handle the rendering is still there because so many 3rd party applications uses them to render help files and such. So yes they can still expect it to work even if you uninstall it, it's just the gui you uninstall. 1nsane wrote: > Windows 7 has an option to remove IE as part of windows features. [hlds_linux] Can't query server if -nomaster is used
Hi, Dunno if anyone else posted this, but since last update of vanilla hlds if I use -nomaster I can't query the server for status, but connecting and playing on it works fine if I connect from the console. Removing the -nomaster and the server shows up just fine in the favorite list and I can query it for status again. Anyone else noticed this and is there any fix, beside not using -nomaster? greetings JS ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

Re: [hlds_linux] Half-Life 1 Engine Update Released
Alfred posted info about it to the list: We have released an update for the Half-Life 1 engine, run the hldsupdatetool to get the update. This update fixes crashes on startup if you had a banned.cfg and the sv_password state not being displayed properly in the serverbrowser. There is a known bug with servers not listing if you use the setmaster command, so remove any setmaster calls until we can release a fix for the issue. - Alfred We have released an update to the Half-Life 1 engine, run the hldsupdatetool to get the update. This update fixes the "Assert( IsIdxValid(i) )" and then crash error when running a server and fixes a crash on startup under linux if you had virtual interfaces. Hi, What I did find out is that the server will only crash when running glibc 2.3.2 on Linux kernel 2.6.12.1, running kernel 2.6.8 works without no problem. I have not tested the kernels between those two. Upgrading to glibc 2.3.5 on kernel 2.6.12.1 made the problem go away. I've also talked a bit with Alfred off-list and he confirmed the problem on my server and ran some debugging on it. I've also gave him access to another server we have here so he could debug it better, but I guess he left work before reading my last reply. He also told me that he might have a solution for it. Hi! After this release all my servers just crashes, it happens right after all cvars are printed to the console for logging. Tried removing the metamod and just running a plain server, same problem. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike and Half-Life 1: Engine update
Hi, I get this after upgrading: gid.cpp (101) : GID System not inited It's showing when the first player joins after a restart. Server seems to run fine, anything I should worry about? Server is running Linux 2.6.x.y and glibc 2.3.2 greetings Joachim Sehlstedt Alfred Reynolds wrote: We have released an update to Counter-Strike and the Half-Life 1: Engine. Run the hldsupdatetool to get this update. If you run ANY server that uses the Half-Life 1: Engine (i.e TFC, DMC, NS, DoD, etc) then you should get this update. This update enables VAC2 by default for all Half-Life 1: Engine dedicated servers and fixes a couple potential exploits. To disable VAC protection for your server add "-insecure" to the command line when you run it. The update also disables old style queries by default. To enable old queries set "sv_enableoldqueries" to "1" (this is NOT recommended, if you set this you will expose your server to a potential DDoS attack). [hlds_linux] Question about A2S_PING
Hi, What should I send to the server to do a A2S_PING? FF FF FF FF ?? I saw Alfred talking about it in a mail, but he never mentioned the byte value for A2S_PING. Why isn't it mentioned in the documentation? http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Source_Server_Queries greetings Joachim Sehlstedt ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
