It's still worth reinstalling hlds_l

Also, are you running 3110c, or vanilla 3110?

Seems to be some sort of DLL error, hope I could have helped you more.

ps: Why is hlds contacting ET? Didn't he phone home by now? :>

I seem to remember that we used to be able to set a minimum time that
the
score screen would stay up. I know by default it will be 2 minutes or
until somebody does something. Is there still a way to make a minimum
time
(e.g. one minute) so that even if somebody fires it will stay up? I
can't
find anything in the command reference so far.

Thanks,

Since you narrowed it down to the config.cfg, go over that, look for

s_eax 1 = full positional audio

Will you stop going with the head into the wall and just listen to what we

EAX enables positional audio, and I don't know about other games, but half
life will not give you any positional 4speakers without enabling either eax

Re: [hlds_linux] Bans!?!?!

2002-08-27 Thread MoD

When someone goes for the "I will never cheat again" option, doesn't that
also mean he stops following polls on OGC forums?

Do all cheaters go to the OGC forums on a regular basis?

Does the 12 year old cheater that's afraid to be banned admit it, or want
OGC to appear "cool"?

I wouldn't take this poll that seriously, it only addresses the hard core
cheaters, that follow the forums regulary, and tend to post
http://ogc.forums/polloption?=4 links all over the place, if you catch my
drift.

Your #1 advice, "Enable VAC" is mistaken... VAC runs by default, and the
"secure" liblist.gam value is irrelevant, it's only disabled if you
place -insecure in commandline.

Re: [hlds_linux] Server Booking Software.

2002-08-03 Thread MoD

A good way for that is putting the default rcon_password in server.cfg and
add a line in end of server.cfg
config

when you book your server, you create some .cfg file, with chosen settings,
maybe make a custom mapcycle.txt and change mapcyclefile, and do alias
config "exec whatever.cfg"

Re: Re[2]: [hlds_linux] [OT] HLGuard

2002-06-30 Thread MoD

VALVe stopped caring about the core HLDM a long while ago.

It was the last mod to have lag compensation and client side shooting.

Besides, CS is HLDM with other weapons :D

VALVe, just pull the plug alredy? Tell me where's the button, i'll hit it
myself.

Re: [hlds_linux] restricting classes

2002-06-30 Thread MoD

Just make sure they don't conflict with those in server.cfg, because it is
executed after the values in mapcycle.txt.

If you feel real naughty, you can use ripent from zoner's tools, and add the
following lines to classname/info_tfdetect:

"maxammo_shells" "1021"
"maxammo_nails" "1021"

which will disallow those classes withing the bsp file (server side change
only), like the class restrictions in hunted. Surely would put a look of
surprise on newcomers :P

The folks over at cheating-death (www.cheating-death.com) have released a
new version for all mods that can't currently use the VAC - This includes
TFC, DOD, etc. For those of you looking for an anti-cheat solution, I
suggest you head over to the CD page and download the beta. =D

Re: [hlds_linux] CS 1.5: server verification failed

2002-06-13 Thread MoD

Look in linuxreadme.txt, around the end there is a list of all ports, make
sure they are open for you.

I'm pretty sure someone will just send a message within a couiple minutes
with the actual port, but it should give you a hint.

[hlds_linux] Any "for dummies" thourough HLDS_L setup guide?

2002-06-07 Thread MoD

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
--
[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
Hello, I went over all the sites of all the add-ons, but little of them refer to each
other in terms of collisions, so I was wondering, is there any full guide of setting
up hlds_l with metamod and admin mod and HLGuard and halfd and hlstats with screen
without having the machine explode?

Any small tips will be appreciated as well.
