Re: [hlds_linux] Mysterious server crashes

2011-11-30 Thread Kyle Sanderson
we don't have it on right now so he is just being stupid
not sure why some aussie needs to get his panties in a bunch when
we don't have any servers in australia

Quite a few large communities still run fake clients with ease... Mind you
it's changed from faking player counts to having actual bots playing
disguised as real players. Will this change? Probably not. Even if Valve
tries something client side, their content/login servers die every time an
update hits regardless of the size. With how poorly 'P2P' authentication
was implemented, I'd be worried if they tried anything to be honest.

Just keep going around in circles, the end result is nothing will change
either due to lack of investment or effort.
Kyle.

Sorry, the correct variable to disable to work around the problem is
sv_parallel_sendsnapshot.

Are you running with replay also? I believe there is a known issue running
SourceTV + Replay that we are working on. The workaround is to disable
sv_parallel_packentities. There will be a performance penalty for doing that
though.

Doesn't SourceBans have a log_address option in its settings that can

haven't got it on and getting crashes on 4 servers and i just don't want

FYI I have three servers, two with only replay enabled, and third with
replay+STV. The third server (with STV) randomly crashes once a while.

Will try to disable STV, too and report back.

Re: [hlds_linux] Mysterious server crashes

2011-10-15 Thread Andre Pozos
orangebox had the rcon exploit problem who used to crash server, try to
block the rcon port(tcp) in the firewall.

I disabled all mods and the server is still running, about 10 hours of
uptime and full for about 6 of those hours. But it could just be luck.

I am going to try the 1.4-dev build of sourcemod and see what happens.

Re: [hlds_linux] Mysterious server crashes

2011-10-15 Thread Emil Larsson
Nope, forgot to say but it didn't help. Disabled Sourcemod and Metamod,
server would crash after a mapchange (or soon after). Not always happen
after a mapchange, but it seems to happen when the server have a sizely
population too, such as when nearly being full.

Re: [hlds_linux] Mysterious server crashes

2011-10-15 Thread anna rack
Clients were crashing at different times, small groups then large groups with
no steam logon. The server would also crash but not has often as the clients.
An HL2 error would come up on the client crash and would close the program.
Unfortunately I did not take note of the actual error.

Anyone else get those? Server runs fine for about 30-90 minutes (usually
averages less than a hour), then crashes... usually when it's full of
players too. Only happens on our Linux servers too. Sourcemod does not seem
to be the culprit (Gamedata is up to date as far I know), though I'm
currently testing to run one of the Linux server with Sourcemod off.

The server simple freezes and/or crashes. One of the crashes we had earlier
seemed to be related to the item servers screwing up.

Try this instead of vanilla.

 a) install gdb
 b) start the server with -nobreakpad and -debug arguments: ./srcds_run -game
tf -nobreakpad -debug +ip ...
 c) Add ulimit -c 2097152 to startup script.

A file named debug.log will be created when the error occurs.
