Its more thank likely too big ( the number of characters )
There seems to be some sort of limit there some where.
Over a specific number of chars and more makes it just not
render at all :(

If it's like 1.6, the limit is 1536 characters.  You can always set up a
redirect from with in the motd.txt too, then there isn't a limit.

I just tried that, and it didnt work for some reason.

Set the motd up on a webserver, then all you need to do is put the link in
the motd.

As such, my game servers just link to the main page of my website, my motd
looks like this:

I've found it's easiest to use a redirect. You can either just put the
URL for the redirect as the ONLY thing in the motd.txt, or use a regular
ol' meta refresh:

html
head
titleDexworld.org -- We Got Yer Proff Right Here, Pal!/title
meta http-equiv=refresh
content0;url=http://dexworld.org/cssmotd.htm;
/head
body
pRedirecting, gimme a second here.../p
/body
/html

This lets the player know something's coming, and if they wanna read it
they'll hang a second while it loads. I didn't like just redirecting
without letting the user know, because while the page loaded it looked
like the motd was just blank. But, test on your own and determine which
you think is faster.

eg. your motd.txt in server would look like this:
http://www.hardgaming.com/motd.txt
Just put that line to your motd.txt (nothing else!) in server and make
sure that you have your _real_ motd in that address and make sure that
it's in .txt.
