Sounds like something on your PC needs to be freshly reconfigured.

I just tried it again, with the PC freshly IPLed after a night's rest,
and still get the "page not found" error. I guess IBM doesn't like me
any more. :-(

Clearing the cache, deleting all cookies and restarting the browser
didn't help, either.

Another subscriber sent me a copy of the document off-list yesterday, so
I now have it in my collection.

You're URL worked for me - once I had made sure there were no "<" or ">"
framing characters polluting the text. It took a while but finally a 12 page
.pdf file entitled the "IBM System z Software Pricing Reference Guide April
2006" (ZSO01378-USEN-12)appeared.

IMHO this is one of the most complicated things in mainframe world.

Unfortunately it is NOT well explained. My impression is this is
intentionally kept complicated.

Part (most?) of the software is MSU-based, but not all.
Part of MSU-based software is eligible for WLC (usage-based).
Even for WLC, there is some constant base, but the base is dependent on
your configuration: in single CEC or "qualified parallel sysplex" you
pay for single base, while in multi-CEC you pay the bases separately.

Of course the variable part is not linearly dependent on MSU value.
The pricing formulas are not published.

There are also special licensing programs for small installations, new
customers, developers, etc.

When it fails take a close look at typically the end of the URL in the
"Address" line and check for an odd character such as "right bracket"
character which has confused the site trying to handle your request.
