2006-02-07 Thread Sandeep Agarwal
Dear All,

Please help me in building the right solution.

My requirement is:

1st I want to club both ISP bandwidth to get 512kbps.
2nd, In normal condition, it should be in Load balancing.
3rd , In ISP Failover condition, traffic will automatically route to working
ISP.

What I have:

I have the link from two ISP both 256kbps. Both ISP given 8 real IP Pool.
One ISP is through Lease line, terminated at my router CISCO 1841. Output of
this is connected to ETH1
2nd ISP is through Ethernet connected to ETH2
ETH0 is connected to the Local zone.

What I have done:

Is RHEL with kernel 2.4.21-9EL be OK for this OR any other flavour (Debian /
Mandrake / SUSE etc.) is required?

I have gone through http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt AND further
http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/

Is I am on right track? OR there is any other simplest way to achieve this?

Awaiting your valuable suggestion.

also check your /var/log as maybe the logs are taking up all the space

Re: [ilugd] Re: Suggestion required on CBQ !!!!!!

2004-04-01 Thread Sandeep Agarwal
I have done as you suggested. In iptraf under LAN station monitor, It is showing
ethernet
address not the IP address. Also I want to see the real time bandwidth usages (In
Cumulative) by the
different interfaces. So that I can show/convince the same to management.

Any other tool by which I can see the bandwidth usages in graphical mode?

Thanking you,
Sandeep Agarwal

The files seem to be ok. I am guessing that you must have already tried
it out. Ipchains has no relation to this as far as my knowledge goes and
I doubt that there would be any relation found.
If you have not already done the following please do it.
 Bash# chmod 500 /etc/init.d/htb.init
 To start bandwidth management give
 Bash# /etc/init.d/htb.init start

 To stop
 Bash# /etc/init.d/htb.init stop

 To check status
 Bash# /etc/init.d/htb.init stat

To check bandwidth usage run iptraf
Go to LAN station monitor and select the interface
You will get the upload and download rates in kbps

First look for the following files in
 /lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/net/sched

 sch_htb.o sch_sfq.o cls_fw.o cls_u32.o cls_route.o

if these files exist then great you can go directly to HTB config below.
Else you will have to compile these. To compile do as follows

 1) bash# cd /usr/src/linux-2.4
 2) bash# make menuconfig
 3) Go to Networking options --- press Enter
 4) Go to QoS and/or fair queueing --- press Enter
 5) Select * for QoS and/or fair queueing, QoS support, Rate estimator,

Download htb.init and the sample config files from sourceforge
Copy htb.init to /etc/init.d
Copy sample files to /etc/sysconfig/htb

Read the htb.init file to learn how to configure the sample files. It's
pretty simple.

And Viola! You are done.

Best of luck

[ilugd] Help Require to divide Bandwidth

2004-01-15 Thread Sandeep Agarwal
Hi Everyone!!!

Please help in the following...

I have Lease Line of Bharti (64k in 1:4). Presently it is connected as

Lease Line (Copper Pair)- RAD HTU E1--RAD FCD-2---Cisco Router 1720
(WIC1T)--Gateway Server

Gateway Server (RHL 7.3 with IPChains) have 3 NIC's which are connected as

Eth0--Cisco Router
Eth1--Switch (For Server's)
Eth2--Switch(For Users)

Now we are going to upgrade this Lease Line to 128k as one new sister concern is
going to open in the same premises. Management wants to divide this 128k into 50-50%
in parent sister concern. Can we achieve it on Gateway ? If any other solution has,
please suggest.

Thanking you in advance.

It shows less no. of mails. I have seen this problem mainly with the yahoo mails.
None of yahoo mails is comming upto user mailbox, while other mails are comming.

Run fetchmail in debug mode and not in daemon mode.

 Steps:
 1. Kill any existing fetchmail session
fetchmail -q
 2. Run fetchmail in debug mode
fetchmail -vv -d 0

See if you get any clue from the messages. It is helpful to open an

Dear Mr. Sandip,

Thankx for your valuable response.

I have found that this problem occurs due to following SPAM RULES in sendmail which I
had put earlier just to
stop the users for not to send the mails from Official mail ID's [From their PC -

[ilugd] Fetchmail Problem

2003-09-17 Thread Sandeep Agarwal \(Hotmail\)
Dear ALL,

I have RHL 7.3 box for mail. When this server is going to fetch the mail for the user
from ISP end, it shows No. of message fetched, but when I am going to see the mails
in /var/spool/mail directory by the command

mail -f /var/spool/mail/useraccount

It shows less no. of mails. I have seen this problem mainly with the yahoo mails.
None of yahoo mails is comming upto user mailbox, while other mails are comming.

Please help...

Thankx

Sandeep
