Re: [info-tech] Skills Iowa & Lightspeed
Spirit Lake has had much trouble with Skills Iowa as well. Their tech support seems to ALWAYS say it is on our end. Hearing that other districts are having the same issue makes me wonder if that is indeed the case. Last year at Okoboji we had the same issues and they always said it must be something with our system. I come to Spirit Lake this year and it is more of the same. Hmm... We have had some trouble with it also and their support has not been very helpful. I thought it may be a Lightspeed thing also but without changing anything, the problem went away the next day. We have had nothing but trouble with Skills IOwa this year as well. Some students can get in others, no. Some students have been assigned to the wrong districts and I can't change that without calls to skills Iowa. Students have had answers disappear. It has been quite frustrating. Karl H. I had one student not able to take the OCT. reading test. Blockers were off-it is still a mystery. Ugh. We have had numerous issues. One we have seen in the classroom is the student answers change. They put in one answer, and it changes their answer to a wrong answer. I was skeptical, but the math teacher also noticed this. We had students write down their answers on paper as well as answer on computer to be sure. I have let Skills IA know this. Keith would know more about the issues in elem. level...
