Keuntungannya, anda bisa memanfaatkan PC lama/tua sebagai client.

Kerugiannya, anda harus punya Server yang powerfull.

60 User mau jalanin ERP?

Dengan asumsi setiap client butuh 128MB di Server (untuk jalanin aplikasi
standard seperti Office, browser, aplikasi ERP), berarti anda butuh RAM
sekitar 8GB. Karena Win Server 32-bit hanya mampu sampai 4GB, anda butuh Win
Server 64-bit.

HDD Server wajib SCSI, lebih baik kalau HDD terpisah untuk OS Server dan
aplikasi (Office, dsb). Tentunya perlu dipertimbangkan juga, apakah anda mau
pakai fault-tolerance seperti RAID 1.

Prosesor mungkin butuh dual Xeon atau Quad-Xeon.

ERP adalah aplikasi serius. Berarti anda perlu beli 1 server lagi khusus
untuk akses database ERP.

Backup Storage dan UPS untuk minimal 2 server.

Sebelum menentukan pakai platform Win atau Linux, yang perlu diperhatikan
adalah, apakah front-end aplikasi ERP anda itu hanya platform tertentu (Win
only, Linux only) atau independen?

Kebetulan di kantor saya sudah coba pak.
Maaf bukan promosi tetapi share pengalaman aja.

Teknologi ini cukup bagus pak.

Keuntungan :

1. Tidak perlu beli CPU jadi lebih hemat biaya
2. Tidak butuh banyak tempat untuk menaruh CPU / hemat tempat.
3. Hemat Listrik
4. Lebih mudah untuk maintenance software dan virus karena semua terpusat di 
server.
5. Security lebih terjamin karena di user tidak ada Ploppy Disk maupun Port 
USB ( saat ini sudah ada yang pakai port usb )
6. Masing-masing user bisa mendengarkan MP3 maupun Video karena tersedia 
Port Auduio.

Kekuarangan :

1. Jika server mati / hang maka semua client jadi mati hang.
2. Jika server kena Virus otomatis Client juga kena virus.
3. Jika Specnya servernya kurang bagus jadinya lambat.
4. Membutuhkan server dengan spec yang tinggi.
5. Di Client belum bisa pakai Keyboard dan Mouse dengan Port USB masih pakai 
PS2
6. VGA di Client hanay 16 Mb Jadi kalau untuk menjalankan aplikasi yang 
membutuhkan VGA dengan Resolusi yang bagus ya tidak masimal.

Jadi yang harus diperhatikan Spec server harus disesuaikan dengan jumlah 
Client dan applikasi yang akan dijalankan.
Jika ada yang kurang jelas bisa ditanyakan kembali.

fs = feasibility study? bukannya berarti situ memaparkan dulu apa saja
yang anda sudah ketahui? :)

keuntungan sih banyak.
- kalau pakai citrix metaframe / protokol rdesktop, bisa jalan dengan
hanya 5 KBps per client, asalkan tidak banyak mainan grafik (ERP sih
lancar2 aja). jadi pake dial-up pun bisa.
- centralized. artinya mau deploy cukup satu kali, bukan ke 60 klien.
mau troubleshooting cukup ke satu titik, bukan ke banyak titik. mau
ngadmin / maintenance juga cuma di satu titik.

kelemahan:
- sangat bergantung pada network, tidak ada offline mode.
- kalo server bermasalah, ya 60 user itu juga nggak ada yang bisa kerja.

Wpy:
Beda notebook beda cara men-disable touchpad. Lebih enak
sich pake notebook Hewlett Packard (dhi Compaq). Tombol
untuk disable touchpad ada di bagian atas touchpad. Klo kita
klik sekali maka touchpad akan disable dan gak berfungsi.
Klo merk notebook laen, biasanya cukup ribet juga, harus
disable via BIOS atau via software yg harus di-install terlebih
dahulu.

Dear All,
Saya punya flash disk, jika saya masukkan di komputer A, maka akan 
muncul file MTH.exe. Yg sudah dilakukan adalah scan pakai Symantec dg 
update terbaru, scan pake PCMAV terbaru (10-2006), tapi tidak diketahui 
sebagai virus. Saya sudah coba format terus coba masukin lagi ke 
komputer tersebut tapi akan muncul lagi MTH.EXE sebesar 28 kb. Adakah 
yg tahu apakah ini virus? jika ya bagaimana solusinya?

permasalahannya sama persis,, malah gw sempet nyari arti kode2 pas BSOD
tp sekarang lupa wkk 

gene, dolo jg gw kirain memori or something else...
padahal gw jg sempet beli Corsair DDR 512 tp sama aja ghak ngaruh,,,
trus gw kirain prosesornya...
gw masukin ke toko kompie yang pas itu gw telanjangin trus gw kasi
cuma mobo + pross..
sehari dy bilang lancar2 aja tp gw minta dipanjer terus beberapa hari
eh,, taunya dy bilang error jg kayak biasanya haghaghag

trus dy coba ganti pake barton eh lancar2 aja...
[pross gw athlon xp 1600+ taon 2002an kejadian itu ptengahan 2006]
digonta-ganti pake mobo laen eh sama aja [athlonnya] 

trus akhirnya gw ganti aja mobo + pross

[ITCENTER] KVM Switch tidak bisa untk Projector ?

Saya mencoba untuk memakai KVM Switch sebagai input dari projector
(beberapa notebook terhubung ke kvm, dan output KVM terhubung ke
projector), ternyata projector malah tidak bisa mendeteksi adanya input.

Tetapi kalau KVM tsb di coba untuk output ke monitor, maka KVM bisa
berfungsi.

Mohon sharing dari rekan rekan :
1. Apakah memang KVM switch tidak bisa dipakai bila terhubung ke Projector ?
2. Bagaimana untuk memudahkan apabila ada lebih dari 3 notebook yang akan
dipakai presentasi, sehingga memudahkan pergantian dari satu notebook ke
notebook lain ke dalam 1 projector ?

coba check ip/domain Anda di cbl.abuseat.org dan xbl.spamhaus.org
pastikan tidak ada dalam database mereka.

karena rata2 server sekarang sudah mengacu ke anti spam internet.

untuk clean ip butuh waktu +/- 3 jam CMIIW..
soalnya saya juga pernah ngalamin yg kaya begituan ...

itu juga dengan prosedur yg bebelit2 dan pasti repot
mudah2an jgn sampe keulangin lagi :(

dulu sebelum harddisk saya rusak, 1 bulan sebelumnya sering-sering restart 
sendiri. Mungkin juga ini tanda-tanda bahwa harddisknya udah mau rusak (kalo 
memang harddisk-nya udah dipake beberapa taon).
Kalo kena brontok juga suka restart sendiri loh..

  biasanya tu masalah dari listriknya/powernya,
  coba deh lo cek : 
  1. listrik nyape 180-220 v nah biasanya kalo kurang dari itu biasanya 
  restart kadang kagak mau boot...
  2. cek tegangan dr powersuply ke mainbord seluruh..udah bener blon

  tu pengalaman di tempat gue yang listriknya nggak nyampe 180-220 v 
  kalo malem, jd semua saya saranin pake stavol yg motor...kalo nggak 
  ya setiap malem sering restart sendiri

Di sini juga ada beberapa user notebook komplain hal yang sama. Kalau
dilihat, kemungkinan paling besar adalah touchpad yang terlalu sensitif,
sehingga pada saat mengetik cepat, tangan kita ngga sengaja "menggosok"
bagian touchpad, sehingga kursor berpindah. Karena disini usernya pakai

Untuk mengetahui hard disk masih bagus / ngak , coba lihat S.M.A.R.T
valuenya ...

Ada softwarenya : active smart dari www.ariolic.com

Saya setelah beli hard disk 160 GB seagate barracuda (yang di win2000 Cuma
kelihatan 130 GB) langsung saya test pake active smart

Dan memang beberapa variable yang penting seperti 
1. Reallocation sector count

Memang masih jauh diatas rata2x ...

FYI: hard disk saya yang sudah "almarhum" reallocation sector countnya = 1
... dan turun perlahan2x dari 100 ke (batas ambang wajar 30) terus sampe 1
... ampai akhirnya di "almarhumkan" :) setelah hampir 5 tahun ...

Waktu sudah 30, saya sudah tahu, soon or later pasti bakal mati ...

Cara install software ini memang report, harus jalan di minimum win98 (tapi
sy pake sejak win 2000 di rumah).

biasanya tu masalah dari listriknya/powernya,
coba deh lo cek : 
1. listrik nyape 180-220 v nah biasanya kalo kurang dari itu biasanya 
restart kadang kagak mau boot...
2. cek tegangan dr powersuply ke mainbord seluruh..udah bener blon

tu pengalaman di tempat gue yang listriknya nggak nyampe 180-220 v 
kalo malem, jd semua saya saranin  pake stavol yg motor...kalo nggak 
ya setiap malem sering restart sendiri

web Symantec ada solusinya 
Sebenernya pc anda kena Virus yg ga terdetect dgn Symantec...jadi dia 
Merubah string Shell yg ada di regedit...tapi lumayan panjang agar sampai ke
string "shell" di regedit.. he he ...

Saya pernah mengalami hal ini waktu memakai symantec corporated edition
versi 8.1 bahkan setelah upgrade ke versi 10.1 tetap begitu.
   
  Agar bisa normal kembali coba ikutin langkah seperti di attachment (.pdf)
dari situs symantec.

mail.yahoo.com lalu pilih untuk tidak menggunakan yahoo beta, nanti Ypop-nya
ga error lagi deh..

Teman km itu install Adobe Acrobat Professional, bukan Adobe
Acrobat Reader, jadi di MS Word dia muncul icon untuk create
PDF. Solusi untuk create PDF adalah anda download GhostScript
dan CutePDF Printer dari link berikut ini:
http://rapidshare.de/files/35185535/AFPL_GhostScript_8.11.zip.html
dan
http://rapidshare.de/files/35187514/CutePDF_Printer_1.2.zip.html

Sebelum anda menginstall CutePDF Printer, anda harus menginstall
GhostScript terlebih dahulu.
Lalu klo anda mau create PDF dari file word atau excel, anda
tinggal klik tombol Print, lalu arahkan printernya ke CutePDF
Writer, pilih lokasi atau folder tempat file PDF tsb mau disimpan.
Selesai sudah, file PDF sudah terbentuk.
