Yang jarang dihitung adalah berapa ‘biaya’ migrasi-nya, terutama jika sistemnya besar (saya dulu bekerja di company dengan jumlah user yang ditangani lebih dari 500). Biaya migrasi ini cuma kelihatannya saja ‘free’, padahal kondisi user yang kesulitan akan menyebabkan ‘hidden cost’ juga, belum lagi masalah team support yang belum familiar dengan sistem baru. Kemudian masalah migrasi data, migrasi email user, in-kompatibilitas file type/aplikasi, aplikasi internal perusahaan, dst .. dst .. dst. Untuk system yang besar, migrasi sangat-sangat tidak disarankan, kecuali kepala kita siap ‘jangar’. Lebih baik tetap diarahkan untuk menggunakan software yang sekarang dipake, dengan lisensi tentunya. Yang terjadi malah posisi dia malah mau dipecat :(, karena dianggap tidak bisa bekerja sesuai permintaan owner. Mohon masukan : 1. Sebagai IT, langkah apa yang paling tepat dilakukan jika kita tau bahwa software yg dipakai perusahaan kita bekerja ilegal ? 2. Apakah langkah seperti yang dilakukan rekan saya tsb dengan membuat perjanjian terpisah, jika terjadi pemeriksaan pihak berwajib , maka perusahaan dalam hal ini ownerlah yg paling bertanggung jawab atas penggunaan software ilegal. Saya pernah ada di posisi bapak Waktu itu langkah saya, saya install OS di HDD lain... lalu HDD yg rusak tsb dijadikan slave/secondary HDD. Di OS saya, saya jalankan OnTrack Easy Recovery saya scan HDD yg rusak tsb... tunggu beberapa jam akhirnya kelihatan datanya di beberapa partisi, lalu untuk recovernya kira2 habis 12jaman... Data yg terecover kira2 95% akurat, 5%nya ada doc yg nama filenya berubah, file mp3 yang tiba-tiba 2 lagu jadi satu... dlsb. Saran saya, jangan diformat dulu, apalagi langsung diinstall OS di HDD yg rusak tersebut. A, pada saat komputer C dial ke komputer A maka muncul nada sibuk, nah saya berfikir mungkin ada modem yang bisa menerima multi koneksi kayak yang di ISP :) --- supaya hanya perlu menghapalkan satu nomer, A bisa mendaftarkan nomer X dan Y jadi satu nomor hunting di telkom, sehingga baik X dan Y bisa ditelpon melalui nomer Z. jadi nanti si B dan C tinggal memutar nomer Z, pihak telkom yang akan mencari mana di antara nomer X dan Y yang sedang tidak sibuk dan akan disambungkan. --- jadi ada pertanyaan baru nih, apakah ISP yang punya layanan dial-up pake sistem seperti di atas ? berarti isp tsb punya line telp. sebanyak jumlah pelanggan isp tsb yak.. itu artinya saya harus cari solusi lain nih :) thanks atas bantuannya Yana Nugraha ___ The all-new Yahoo!
