Mark,
Most of the same commands that worked in 2003 will still work in 2007.
Centering text is still control e.

Hi
Personally, I find office 2003 easier to use but I am learning how to
use MS Office 2007. I just don't know where to find what I want (like
centering text) in the new version.

God bless,
Mark

[JAWS-Users] Follow up question on how to save attachments.

2008-04-08 Thread cutolo.albert

Good MorningGene, Mark, and Rosmary.

I have a follow up question to ask about how to save attachments. Sometime
ago, I saved an attachment that I had created as a Microsoft word document,
and then saved it in the my documents folder. I wanted to practice sending
the attachmemt to my girlfriend, using the steps that were provided to
me by all of you. However, when I went into the file menu and hitthe alt f
key for the file menu, and arrowed to where it says save attachments,I hit
the enter key on that option, it said save attachments unavailable. My
question tooall all of you is,is that option gone? Because when I tried it
yesterday, the option seemed to be in theier, but this morning when I
triedit, it doesn’t seem to be their. It just says, save attachments
unavailable.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Follow up question on how to save attachments.

2008-04-08 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Al,
The, save attachments, selection is only available on incoming messages that
have a file attached.
Once you have saved a file, it is no longer an attachment.
However, if you wish to practice saving attachments, you can open any saved
message that came with an attachment, and
repeat the steps others have already given.
If you want to practice sending attachments, then start a new message, and
then
while in that message, go to the insert menu, and select, file, and then
follow the prompts in the dialogue.
If you get stuck, let us know.

Re: [JAWS-Users] display driver update help needed

2008-04-08 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Cher,
It depends on what type of driver file you have.
For example, if the driver you are wanting to install is contained within a
.zip archive, you will first have to extract the files.
On the other hand, if it is a.exe file, you simply need to run the
executable
and follow the on-screen prompts and the driver or drivers will be placed
where they need to be.
There are several other ways, but this may sound like to much already. smile
Why don't you give us some more details on what display driver you have, and
we can better guide you.
Whatever the process, it really is straight forward, and no matter what you
do, you will need to re-install the video intercept for Jaws.
If you need more help, you can contact me off-list, and I'll be glad to walk
you thru it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Follow up question on how to save attachments.

2008-04-08 Thread Estelita
Hi,
This is my procedure to send an attachment.
When you’re ready for an attachment press the following:
1. Alt+I, for file attachment
2. Press Enter, JAWS says, “insert attachment”
3. Alt+I, to look in
4. Up/Down arrow to search for the folder where your desired file is saved
5. Press Enter on that folder
6. Tab to list view
7. Up/Down arrow to the desired file, press Enter and your file is attached
into your message.
Now: to check whether your file has been attached successfully,
Press insert+A
JAWS THEN WILL PROMPT YOU IF THERE IS AN ATTACHMENT OR NO ATTACHMENT IN THAT
MESSAGE.
Cheers,

Estelita

Note too that you can left justify the text with Control L
and right justify the text with Control R
JAWS will say, Alighn left, or Align right.
So if you center something and want to uncenter it, use the Control L
command.
Blessings,
Tom

Re: [JAWS-Users] Follow up question on how to save attachments.

2008-04-08 Thread Bob J.
Hello Albert,

The problem here is the failure to communicate your intention. As I see it,
you are wanting to attach a file to a message that you are about to send to
someone. All of the instructions that you have received are based on the
assumption that you wanted to save a file that was attached to a message
that you had received from someone.

To attach a file to a message that you want to send to someone, you do the
following.

Compose your message and then go to the menu bar. Select the Insert menu.
Next, select the File Attachment... sub menu. Tab through the resulting
fields entering the appropriate data where needed. When you complete that
dialogue, you will be returned to the body of the message you are composing.
When you have finished composing the message, send it as you normally would.
You could send the message to yourself to see if the attaching process had
worked properly.

Re: [JAWS-Users] display driver update help needed

2008-04-08 Thread Don and Cher Bosch
Richard- I've got an NVIDIA GeForce 6100. I could not execute the driver-
got a 'windows no disk' error. (This may be related to the fact that my
local drive is 'I' not 'C'.) So I had to go to the control panel and try to
do it from there- which caused additional problems. I had to do everything
manually and had difficulty getting the wizard to look in the correct
folder- and was not sure it ever did. After the wizard completed, I did get
a video-intercept error, but am wondering if that is positive proof that the
driver installed or if it would also trigger the same intercept error if you
just re-installed the old driver. Then I lost all speech, including
Narrator. I called FS because I didn't just want to hit the off button
without talking to someone. After they directed me to hit the off, JAWS did
come up talking. I tried to verify that the driver really installed, but
could not verify this under the display adapters property under System in
the control panel. At the moment, I'm ready for a long walk on a short
pier. Not fun.

Hi Cher,
It depends on what type of driver file you have.

Dear List,

JAWS and my video driver are not happy together, but I've never updated a
driver before. Think that I've found the correct driver, but what is the
safest and best way to do this and to undo it if JAWS quits working?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Ms office

2008-04-08 Thread Ryan MacIsaac
The spell checker works fine in Office 2007. The only problem is if you try
to use it on a Windows XP system with Outlook Express. The dictionary files
used in Office 2007 are not compatible with Outlook Express. That is why
people find they can only use the French dictionary on a system with Office
2007 and Outlook Express.

[JAWS-Users] jaws and outlook express

2008-04-08 Thread Michelle Brandt
hello, i am wondering if someone can help me, please. i am new to
this. I have a gmail email account that i use in outlook express. i
use a laptop and have a wireless connection. jaws behaves very
inconsistently. i have my settings set up to autofill the email
address as i type them in. sometimes jaws reads the autofilled
address so i know what address is listed in the to line, and sometimes
it doesn't. If it doesn't, I have no way of knowing which address is
listed there.

Has anyone had similar problems? Any suggestions for a different
email client to use?

thanks for your help,

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws and outlook express

hello, i am wondering if someone can help me, please. i am new to

Any suggestions for a different
email client to use?

thanks for your help,

michelle

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and outlook express

2008-04-08 Thread Derek Roberts
Hi, Not sure, but try pressing tab and shift tab. When you hit tab it should
say the address it selected, and shifttab goes back to the to: field. Also
alt 1 may work. Have you tried restarting jaws and your laptop? Another
client I've heard of is Thunderbird, but never used it. Someone else will
have the url for it.

[JAWS-Users] bank of america transfer revisited

2008-04-08 Thread Leonard Morris
For the gentleman or anyone else who states the Bank of America transfer screen
is totally accessible I would like to challenge you to go there right now and
do a transfer. You can of course choose "don't make transfer" because this link
button or whatever it is seems to show. I emailed BOA and got some
disappointing response about what a valued customer I am. I told them to get a
demo copy of JAWS from Freedom Scientific and troubleshoot what I am talking
about. Man! oh Man! very frustrating indeed.

It's not just you. This happens to me also including jaws saying edit eddit
edit as you tab through the input fields for to, cc, subject. If I unload
jaws and bring it back sometimes the problem fixes itself but sometimes not.
This issue you are talking about is JAWS specific because I use occasionally
windowEyes and System Access and I can not duplicate this behavior.

If you ever find that you have to upgrade or use Office 2007 on a system
running Windows XP and Outlook Express, you can always find a third party
spell checker to use with OE. You can easily find one using Google. I don't
remember for sure, but I thought I also saw one on the Jaws users site as
well.

Another suggestion for learning Word 2007 is to turn on your announce all
commands in Jaws. Then when you press your alt key to access your ribbon,
you will hear the hotkey for accessing that item. When you are familiar
with the hotkeys, you can turn them off again.

[JAWS-Users] free credit report.com

2008-04-08 Thread Larry Stansifer
Hi folks,

Has anyone attempted the "free credit report.com" website with jaws? It
works beautifully up to the point that they want a credit card number to
sign up for their service. I have had it happen to me before where the
advertising and log-in pages were accessible but the targeted material was
not.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Beware of this one! It is not really free. When you enroll you are
automatically enrolled in another program, which if you don't cancel it,
will start to charge your credit card. Their ads are very misleading.

Re: [JAWS-Users] bank of america transfer revisited

2008-04-08 Thread Larry Stansifer
Leonard,

I don't deal specifically with B-of-A but the three banking web sites I do
deal with are with a lot of Jaws cursor and even more patients accessible.
Wells Fargo is probably the easiest followed by AMEX with my small regional
bank bringing up the rear.
Currently their accessibility is strictly voluntary but this is destine to
change over time. I can remember in the 70's when a California based bank,
"Crocker Citizens bank even took a crack at Braille bank statements. It was
a thiasco but they got an A for effort.

For the gentleman or anyone else who states the Bank of America transfer
screen is totally accessible I would like to challenge you to go there right
now and do a transfer. You can of course choose "don't make transfer"
because this link button or whatever it is seems to show. I emailed BOA and
got some disappointing response about what a valued customer I am. I told
them to get a demo copy of JAWS from Freedom Scientific and troubleshoot
what I am talking about. Man! oh Man! very frustrating indeed.

You could send the message to yourself to see if the attaching process had
worked properly.

hth

Bob

Re: [JAWS-Users] free credit report.com

2008-04-08 Thread Rosemarie Chavarria
Hi, Russel. I've heard their adds on the radio and there's no way I'd sign
up with them. Wow--since when does a person pay for free service? Figure
that one out.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and outlook express

2008-04-08 Thread Michelle Brandt
Hi all,Sorry to say but I have tried all suggestions and it still
isn't working. I am using Jaws version 9.0. sometimes it will fill in
my email address and sometimes it doesn't. Not sure what else I can
do. It doesn't appear to be an outlook problem, i think it has to be
a jaws issue since it is inconsistent.thanks for all your

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Ad-Aware 2007 Scripts

Does anyone know if there have been any scripts developed for Ad-Aware 2007?
The scripts that can be downloaded from the JAWS-users site are for version
1.06 and do not work with 2007.
Thanks,
Erin

Re: [JAWS-Users] display driver update help needed

2008-04-08 Thread Victor Gouveia
HI Cher,

I have good news and bad news for you.

First, the good news...

Your problem can be fixed, and the best part is that once you fix that
problem, a great many other problems will be fixed.

The bad news?

You have to do a re-install and format of your drive.

My brother made the mistake of doing that, namely naming the local drive
another letter, other than C, and it completely didn't allow him to install
a bunch of other things, including Jaws and Zoom Text.

The major problem is that programs like Jaws and others, look for the
default of the C drive when it installs and access the various program
functions, so, if you don't have a C drive, you get a number of errors when
you go to run a program.

I should also point out that the Jaws Video Intercept doesn't ask you which
drive to install to, it will automatically install on the C drive, so if
there is no C drive, it isn't getting installed properly.

I'm sorry to have to be the bearer of bad tidings, but this is the reality
as I see it, and, as I see it was garnered through experience with this sort
of problem.

By the way, who was it that installed the system in the first place?

The reason I ask, is if it's a new computer, then you can take it back and
get them to install the OS and format the drive correctly.

If it isn't a new computer, then who did your last install, as they should
be able to re-install the entire works.

Victor

You can still use the version you
mentioned with the scripts for it. Someone said that it updates automaticly,
I've tryed it and it is true.
