Re: [JAWS-Users] Merging settings
ok, sense no one has answered this. i will at last. you can merge from lower versions to higher, but not the other way around. This is, because the higher version may have a element or function that is not recognized by the lower version. Witch would give you script errors. At 08:33 PM 7/17/2009, you wrote: Hi All, I have never merged settings before. Is it possible to merge settings from a newer version to an older version? Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook express.
Correct Kimmie. When you use "Restore" from the Recycle Bin, the folders go back exactly where they were before. There are no alternatives. I'd recommend restoring everything, then starting all over again. Somewhere on here, one of our list members sent along a very extensive set of instructions for servicing Outlook Express. Importantly here, files that were deleted i.e. put into the Recycle Bin - including .dbx files, between the Restore point (a restored time point) and now, will be restored to where they were at that time. A System Restore is just one step among a couple more that may be needed, unfortunately. It wouldn't be my first resort for this type of problem. I think I and a few others have outlined or described alternative, more directly relevant, procedures. - Original Message - From: "Chris Hallsworth" To: Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2009 9:04 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook express. If you are going that route: If you aren't happy with the results, there is the option to undo your last restore, which does just that and brings you back to where you were before you did the system restore. Hi John, already tried that. But all I get is a bit of a bong noise. I usually can also just press escape, and that takes me back to google. But now I am having to alt F4 out of it altogether. For example, whenever I launch Internet Explorer. Jaws announces "favorites". I don't think I remember it ever doing this before. In addition, when I open a webpage. I usually use insert numpad 3 to read the status line. This lets me know how many items on the page are left to download. However, what Jaws tends to do now, is read out a couple of my favorites. However, if I do in fact want to access my favorites. I still need to use control I to bring up my favorites list. Has anyone else experienced this? I am using XP home, IE7 and Jaws 10. Would upgrading to IE8 be of any help? It is sitting in my system tray. But I have been cautious about installing it.
