If you have Jaws 11.1430, you can down load AIM, and it's accessible with
the chat feature. And you don't need to sign up with AOL either, just
choose to use your current email address, and it will import your facebook
contacts right in to your buddy list. Not only that, if you use twitter you
can post to both that and facebook at the same time. And the best thing
about it, there is no caption!

 Hi,

This is for Internet Explorer 7.

 Go to www.facebook.com

Press Enter on the link which says, Open Chat

A new window will open. You can now choose the person you wish to talk to.
After finding that person, press Enter on that name.
On top of the page, arrow down till you hear, View Profile.
Below it, there should be an Edit box where you can type the message.
This box is like the history window for Windows Live Messenger.
If you hear your name followed by the time stamp spoken then by the
message, you have sent that message. If your friend responds, you
 should hear a Pop sound.

  Hope this method works.

Ok here it goes. 1.) go to facebook.com. 2.) move down the page to where
JAWS says Chat and the number of people on will read after it says chat.
 3.)
Route to Jaws cursor by pressing jaws key + the minus key on the number
 pad.
4.) At this point it gets a little tricky you will need to move to I
 usually
go to about the second letter of the word chat and do a left mouse click
using the number pad that key is the divide sign). 5.) After pressing the
left mouse click you should turn back on pc cursor and scroll down
underneath chat it may say loading at this point I usually will press the
jaws key and the escape key at the same time this key combination updates
the screen usually it works the first time but should it not then try it
again. So this is the instructions for opening the chat area.

Instructions for getting a chat going:
1.) scroll down with PC cursor activated to the name you want.
2.) Once you are at the name you want press enter on it.
3.) I then will pull up the jaws find using the key combination (control
 +
 the letter F)
4.) At this point I will type in the name of the person I am wanting to
 chat
with and repeat this step until I am in the chat screen. You can find
 this
out by each time you find their name scroll down a bit and see if their
 is
additional information on this person such as view profile or close chat
window. another option is scroll down underneath the chat list and find
 the
 chat window that way.

NOTE: I have autoforms turned off using the jaws key and the letter V and
scrolling down to where it says auto forms on. I am not sure about this
 but
I believe you then press enter to toggle auto forms off if enter does not

 do
it then try pressing space bar.

My best bet is to uninstall the latest one first, followed by the
previous version, etc, without shared components. Removing shared
components will cause your other versions to stop working properly and a
reinstall would be required to bring them back. Hope this helps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] HAVING PROBLEMS WITH LATEST VERSION OF JAWS11

2010-04-25 Thread Jo Luland

Hi All,
After downloading the latest version of JAWS, when I go into my computer to
access my c: drive, JAWS doesn't speak. Not only does it not speak, but it
keeps losing focus. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, how can
it be fixed? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Sometimesw, at least keep one earlier version. Sometimes, new bugs are
introduced, or in some instances, an earlier version of Jaws seems to work
better with certain applications.

But, you probably don't need every one of your older versions.

Re: [JAWS-Users] uninstalling previous versions of jaws.

2010-04-25 Thread kimber
Hi Chriss. I'm finding that jaws eleven is a little slower at getting to where
I want to go. Well I mean the speech, and I have to press the control button
so I can change properly. This might sound confusing, but even well after I
have pressed where I want to go, it's still speaking on the previous menu, and
it's really annoying. I hope you understand what I mean. Not very good at
explaining.

You just click ok after checking or unchecking the box. Note when you
uncheck the box JAWS will confirm you sure you want to do this, so click
 yes after clicking ok.

Sometimesw, at least keep one earlier version. Sometimes, new bugs are
introduced, or in some instances, an earlier version of Jaws seems to work
 better with certain applications.

But, you probably don't need every one of your older versions.

I installed it on my computer and had no problems, but, he has installed
winamp just the same way I did and he is having many problems.

I have a movie and video collection and Rich can't seem to access many of
them.
We have a home network so we can get things from one computer or the other.
and we can also listen to the other's music and such.

We are using Windows XP. home addition.

Hope this is enough information.

Re: [JAWS-Users] uninstalling previous versions of jaws.

2010-04-25 Thread Tim Appleby
Its possible that you need to have Typing interrupt engaged, that way, your
menus and other stuff should stop speech when typing another letter or up or
down arrow moving from item to item in the menu structure

to change that behavior, go too your config manager and then go to user
settings then tab down until you hear JAWS say Typing interrupt checkbox not
check, check that box then your issue should go away.

I hope that I was able to help you out successfully

Tim

Hi Jim, how about downloading the latest version of JAWS from the web
site.

Then, if possible, uninstall the version of JAWS that seems to be hanging
around. You then, regardless of whether the uninstall works or not,
install
the latest version of JAWS which you downloaded. Perhaps your key count
has

reached the limit, 3 I believe.

the other day, there was a mager issue with Verizon, and it happened just
after I installed jaws 11.1430so, I thought it was because of the jaws
update, 11.1430, but it wasn't. well, in resolving the Verizon issue, I
realized that I didn't have to uninstall the latest jaws update. So, I
tried

to reinstall it again. But, jaws keeps saying that the product is still
running on my computer. it isn't. I have jaws 11.1.34 on here but not the
latest update. Is there any way I can get FS to download the latest update
to my computer again?
It was my error to uninstall it, I realize that, but I'd like to reinstall
it again. I am running windows 7, 64 bit machine and jaws 11.1.34 on it.
