I have a feeling you are right.

If I want to hear something sing, I will listen to my music collection.

Way back when Jaws used the Dec Talk Express, I remember it was able to
sing several songs. It could even warble on certen notes.

I remember 1 of the songs was Moonlight over Vermont, that name might be
wrong, but close enough. It was sooo qute on the warble!

It would be fun, but sertenly not productive.

May be Dancing Dots could make use of the singing screen reader for its
Lime Aloud Braille music program?

Re: [JAWS-Users] rules in window 7

2010-05-26 Thread John Justice
Patty,
I looked through the rest of the messages to make sure that someone hadn't
satisfactorily answered your question.

1. Type Alt T for the Tools menu:
2. Locate Rules and press enter. It might be called message rules.
If you confirm that you want rules for e-mail, there should be a list. If
you line up on that particular rule, then you can tab to Remove and press
enter. That should work Patty.
Let us know if I missed something.

Hi

I agree there is still something wrong with Jaws 11 and Live Mail, my
main problem at the moment is that it opens the message below the one
I am focused on.

I really cannot understand why FS have not got this working properly
and i am sure they are well aware of all the problems with it. I
wish they would either fix it or tell us they can do nothing with
it. Lets face it there are not that many other email option out
there and i dont particularly want to purchase Outlook for the amount
of emailing I do.

2010-05-26 Thread Erin B. Edgar
I have noticed this, although it may not be specifically related to Live
Mail; it seems to happen in other programs. I've found that if I tab
around, I will eventually find a link or another field. If I hit
control+home to get back to the top and then do say all, it reads fine.
Somewhat clunky, but it works. Fortunately, this doesn't happen for me very
often.

Well I've got a bit of news for you. Sighted people are running into a lot
of these same problems. The innovative operating systems and web design are
making computers that are on line only fit for kids of all ages to go in and

If this discussion can find it's way back to some direct relationship to

then it may continue, otherwise, bring it to an end, now!
It is agreed that everyone experiences frustration with the internet while
using a screen-reader,

but this is not the forum for discussing such a general topic.
Additionally, comments on how the discussion is going, serves no purpose.

wish that more of us blind people would have the guts to come out and own up
with regards to our frustrationabout itsreal lack too ease of access, and
not hide our heads in the sand and pretend that everythingis all wonderful

I understand what you are saying here, but what good are these standards if
there not enforced. I for one, am tired of the excuse that we'rejust a small
market, and that we don'tmatter much anyway. WhenI see that a sighted
person can click the mouse more efficientlyon a button or graphic, and it
takes that very same blind person twice as much time too perform that very
same action, then how can we ever hope to be as proficient in the use of
computers as well as people with vision do. If we as blind and visuallly
impaired users keep allowing companies, web designers and developers too
justify that arguement, then we'll never be includedwhen it comes too using
computers in areas of employment, and entertainment.

and they surely don't make sites inaccessible on purpose.

They probably just don't have in depth knowledge of the intricate facets
of screen readers like jaws.

If we, who use the program, don't even always have it, how could one
expect it from sighted web designers?

Sometimes it helps to have JAWS redraw the page--insert and escape.

Hi Leonard, I am a bank Of America customer and have had no luck with the
site. Of course I am using an older version of jaws.

I hope you will be able to solve your problem.

There is a section to edit "safe pass preferences." There are two options
to either "save your preferences" or "don't save preferences." Don't save
preferences has a clickable link but save preferences just says graphic
save preferences. Using spacebar, enter, route jaws to pc and left mouse
click won't work. Any ideas what I could try? Thanks.

Dear Betsy,

Wouldn't it perhaps help to exit forms mode after having completed the
details, navigate to the relevant button and then just enter on it?

I don't use jaws 11, but at some sites I use that work around.

Regards,

Riana

This isn't helpful for you, but I am hoping that someone else has an
idea. I bank with American Savings Bank, and they recently did an
upgrade to the marvelously accessible site, and now I am having
similar trouble. There is a place where all of my payees are listed
and then you fill-in the amount that you want to pay. When I opened
that section, the items are on the screen and I can find them only by
using the JAWS cursor, but I can't make the Make Payments button
work. I didn't even know that the items were on the screen until I
had someone check the monitor. I don't know if my problem is a
setting in JAWS or what to do. Using JFW 11.
