Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS11, Excel2003, & Windows 7?

2010-07-06 Thread DJ
Hi Justin,

What is supposed to happen after I follow those steps? Does JAWS then know
that the cell I've applied that to is a title cell? If that is the case,
isn't that similar to setting the column title to a particular row In the
JAWS Options dialog box?

  Thanks.

DJ

You must use the key sequence alt I n d.
Then, tab over to new and hit enter.
Type in the work Title. Remember to use a capital t.
Then, hit enter for okay. You can also tab to okay if you would like.
After that, tab over to close and hit enter.

When I tell JAWS to read column and row titles using the Options dialog,
JAWS does not retain the setting. Therefore, column titles are not read as
I navigate through the spreadsheet. I haven't even tried row titles because
it resets. Anyone else experience this?

Hello.
If using jaws 11, the keystroke when the message is displayed is alt
insert W. this will open the message in a separate window, and allow you
to select all control A and copy control C to the clipboard, then you can
paste it control V in to a message.
If using jaws 10, the keystroke is control insert W. the rest of the
procedure is the same. By the sounds of it, windows live mail appears to

way, avast's kicking in and wants you to disable security. i don't use

Just to throw in my experience with this update:
I updated my jaws 11 yesterday through the check for updates feature under
the help menu. The update went smoothly, my computer restarted with no
problem and seemed to be running well, so I shut it down for the night.
This morning, when I started it, jaws no longer spoke at the log on screen,
and when it finished booting up, JAWS said, "jaws for windows is ready,"
just like normal, but any key I pressed said "unknown function," and then
the function of the key. For example, if I pressed the down arrow key, jaws

said, " unknown function say next line." My laptop is virtually unusable
right now. Fortunately, I have a netbook to use, but I'm reluctant to run
the update on my netbook. I tried putting the jaws cd in my laptop to run a

repair, but it won't respond to any key commands. I can't shut jaws down
because it simply says "unknown function unloading jaws." I can't even shut

down my computer the proper way with the keyboard. All I can do is wait
until a sighted friend comes over later and hope my laptop will respond to
the touch pad. . . .
Maybe I should have run a repair before I updated my jaws, but I have never
had such a problem with an update before. If anyone has a suggestion,
please let me know. I suppose I will say to those who haven't run the
update yet, do so with caution.

that won't cut it with CAPTCHA's. If it were that simple, spammers
would have overcome it completely and there would have been no need for
a service like Solona. The seen image (because it is distorted
deliberately, to prevent machine OCR) must be interpreted or resolved.

Ok, try enabling images in your browser. Also, try maximizing the
browser window. Solona uses human operators, so if they can't see the
image then they can't help you, simple as.

No. Solona is the way to go with Internet Explorer. Where there is

Mobeen said" the setting that says the system uses higher graphics to
represent different aspects of the program," could be unchecked. Glad you
mentioned that because that's something I actually did initially myself. I
had to use the jaws cursor to find where to start a scan. There was another
issue in which avast wanted me to change something in my email settings but
when I closed the program the message didn't come up again after avast was
opened again. I believe it related to the advance area in the account
section of windows live regarding "this server requires a secure ssl
connection" but I could be wrong about that one.

[JAWS-Users] Problem Reading All Messages in Windows Live Mail

2010-07-06 Thread wild.flower
I am running Windows 7, 64 bit, and the Latest version of JAWS 11. The problem
that I'm having is that I can't read all of my messages in Windows Live Mail.
Some messages are read correctly and in their entirety but, some messages don't
read anything at all. In order to read these messages I have to hit forward or
reply and then read through the message and then just cancel actually sending
the message. So, it's not that I can't read the message but, I have to go
through these extra steps to read it and it is very unnecessary and annoying.
Is any one else having this problem and does anyone know what I might be able
to do to fix it. It's confusing to me since it does not do it on all of my
messages. Thanks in advance for your help.

Smiles Across the Miles,
Gena

Skype 4.1 or later, preferably 4.2. If you're brave enough you can opt

HI

Using windows 7, latest jaws

When I look at my c drive I have two program Files one of which has
x86 after it and this is where everything seems to be going.

Any idea how and why I have got this, I would prefer to have just the
one program files folder.

Is it something to do with dual accounts, I am and wish to be the only
user of this laptop.

However I did buy it from the shelf and windows was pre loaded and I
was using there password to log in. I have changed the password and
stopped the log in screen from coming on.

My personal folder was called Store obviously this is what they named
it and I have managed to change that so it shows as just Graham now.

However when I look at System Info the pc name is Graham store.

When I look at user accounts it shows Graham with adminastrative
rights and a guest account which is off.

Bit of a mess would like to get all this sorted before doing much more.

Appreciate any help.

Ok, try enabling images in your browser. Also, try maximizing the
browser window. Solona uses human operators, so if they can't see the
image then they can't help you, simple as.

No. Solona is the way to go with Internet Explorer. Where there is an

Re: [JAWS-Users] Arrowing and looking at the file/folder search results

2010-07-06 Thread David Bailes
Hi Prateek,

After reading your message I've modified the beginning of the Searching section
to include some comments about the folder path and how to read it for a result
- setting the view to the details view rather than the content view is probably
preferable. Does the beginning of the section on Searching now contain the info
that you need? I'm not quite sure what you mean by "finding the folder path for
each of the results and then open them up". From a result's context menu you
can choose open file/folder location, and this opens the folder which contains
the result - was this what you're trying to do?

David.

Thx much for this effort and guide. while I can land on the search box within

the list of results, find the folder path for each of the results and then open
them up. Easy in Win XP and still don't know in Win7.  Do you know the JAWS11

I didn't have to use the jaws curser at all, just out of curiosity,
which sections did you have to use the jaws curser? i'll drop your
comments in an email to avast support if you want, or you could contact
them directly? it just helps to know what different issues people are
having. i don't know of any settings you could change apart from the
setting that says the system uses higher graphics to represent different
aspects of the program, i think that's in general/basic settings, try
unticking that and see what happens.

[JAWS-Users] Empty Folders

2010-07-06 Thread Nicole
How do I delete empty folders off my hard drive? I've uninstalled the programs,
but the folders remain. Also, how do I delete a shortcut off the my documents
submenu?

Hi.

I didn't have to use the jaws curser at all, just out of curiosity,
which sections did you have to use the jaws curser? i'll drop your
comments in an email to avast support if you want, or you could
contact them directly? it just helps to know what different issues
people are having. i don't know of any settings you could change
apart from the setting that says the system uses higher graphics to
represent different aspects of the program, i think that's in
general/basic settings, try unticking that and see what happens.

If you are using window 7 and jaws 11 the beta version of skipe works well.
