Re: [JAWS-Users] Happy Birthday
I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to everyone, for the birthday wishes. I would have responded earlier, but I am without internet service while switching ISP's. I am currently using a neighbor's internet connection, which is not always reliable. Hope to be back up and running in the next day or so. Hi Roseanna, If you just want to add someone's email address from an email you just received, then with the email open, press and hold down the "left alt key" and follow this with pressing the number 1 just above the letters twice quickly. Now press the application key and from the resulting menu choose "add to outlook contacts" A new contact page will pop up containing the persons email address and if you wish you can insert extra information about the person. When finished just press alt + F4 to close and answer yes to have it saved in your contacts list. Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessing the toolbar
Jose, I do not know about this program but, I am assuming that this is not a program that Jaws has some scripts developed for. you can check this by using insert key plus letter Q to see if you hear jaws say default, then there are no jaws scripts. If jaws announces the name of the program, then that would mean jaws has some scripts it is using for the program and so you can check jaws help for the program and helpful hints or keyboard shortcuts. Usually if there is a tool bar, the jaws command insert key plus F8 might invoke a tool bar.But you may still be able to use the program using the jaws cursor to help you find out about the program and if there might be tool bars or a menue bar and short cut keys. I would use the jaws cursor and look around the top of the page to see if you have some tool bar or menue bar at the top of the page. You could try using the alt key to see if it brings up a menue bar so you can arrow around and see if there are some keyboard commands to invoke actions. You might find the programs help file and read it using the jaws cursor. Hope these ideas might help you try and figure this all out. good luck. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Jose Lomeli Sent: Sunday, August 15, 2010 12:37 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Accessing the toolbar Hello; Listers, Ok here is the deal. [JAWS-Users] exporting Outlook 2007 contacts with custom field mapping
I want to export Outlook 2007 contacts to use on our phones, but don't want the dozens of fields Outlook uses. I cannot figure out a keyboard way to select only the few fields I want to export- using the 'Map custom fields button'; under File, import and export, then selecting export and choosing a .csv file. The latest JAWS11 reports several different graphics- but routing JAWS and left clicking does not seem to produce the results I've experienced in similar screen situations. I also tried clearing all the field mapping and attempting to add just the fields I wanted, but could not accomplish anything this way either. I'll be most appreciative of any experiences or advice.
