Hi,

I'm gunna ask this here cuzz I am not getting answers from google or
any other list.

I have a folder that has folders within the folder and I am wanting

However, when I press delete it says recycling dialog cancel button
and when routing jaws to PC and read current line it says
discovering items.

I have waited at least twenty minutes to see if this folder will
delete but it doesn't. Why does it say recycling dialog and
discovering items. WDoes anyone have the slightest idea why this
folder isn't deleting? Its just a random folder I created with a
bunch of notes in them.

Thank you.

2011-12-05 Thread Kimsan
I did it! Finally! It only took me almost seven hours lol!
I have no reason why I couldn't do what anyone else suggested and to have it
work so I had to download something called unlocker.
I managed to remove this dam folder from 2 out of the 3 destinations but I
will remove the other one tomorrow I am tired! If anyone cares to know about
unlocker here is the info I got...

Ever had such an annoying message given by Windows: Cannot delete file:
Access is denied. There has been a sharing violation. The source or
destination file may be in use or the file is in use by another program or
user. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is
not currently in use. Unlocker is the solution. Unlocker is an Explorer
extension that allows you with a simple right-click of the mouse on a file
or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder,
cannot delete folder: it is used by another person or program.
I still don't know why I had to go that far...

Kimsan,

This is a rough description. In your My Documents folder, in the Tree View,
find the highest-level folder you would like to delete. Now press
right-arrow. Now tab over to the list view, and look at what you've got.
Select and delete, as appropriate. There may be some files that won't
delete, so maybe here's a chance to find out their names. You may have made
some read-only. if so, you'll have to make them read-only not checked, a
checkbox in the alt-enter general or the other tab control property sheet.
Hopefully, by the end there will be nothing in the folder you right-arrowed
into. Then you can shift+tab and left-arrow, and delete it.

Another alternative? Cut the whole thing to the clipboard. leave it there,
and reboot.

Another alternative, find something like ReVo Uninstaller, or some other
professional file deletion utility.

As an xp dino, I am not sure of this but does win 7 have a setting to
hide inactive icons in the system tray? I do not know what this would
be called under win7 or if it even exists but under xp, vanishing

taskbar properties.

Just a guess! Good luck!

2011-12-05 Thread Kimsan
Hi, Meared,
1. Reboot your system and try to delete the folder. (I did this and it still
says recycling dialog cancel button.)
2. if the reboot doesn't solve the problem, try to rename the folders
starting from the last one in the tree and delete each folder inside-out.
(When I do this, my laptop freezes)
3. If the renaming/deleting doesn't work from the Windows Explorer, use the
"Command Prompt". (can you give steps on how to do this?)
BTW, this folder is called tech emails and inside the folder are .msg's of
emails I have save over the months. I can delete any folder on my computer
but this folder seems to be a pain in the arce to remove. I have a copy even
on my external hd and it will not delete from there neither.

Thank you.

Re: [JAWS-Users] deleting a folder

2011-12-05 Thread Flor Lynch

Kimsan,

This is a rough description. In your My Documents folder, in the Tree
View, find the highest-level folder you would like to delete. Now press
right-arrow. Now tab over to the list view, and look at what you've got.
Select and delete, as appropriate. There may be some files that won't
delete, so maybe here's a chance to find out their names. You may have
made some read-only. if so, you'll have to make them read-only not
checked, a checkbox in the alt-enter general or the other tab control
property sheet. Hopefully, by the end there will be nothing in the
folder you right-arrowed into. Then you can shift+tab and left-arrow,
and delete it.

Another alternative? Cut the whole thing to the clipboard. leave it
there, and reboot.

Another alternative, find something like ReVo Uninstaller, or some other
professional file deletion utility.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] deleting a folder

Hi,

I'm gunna ask this here cuzz I am not getting answers from google or
any other list.

I have a folder that has folders within the folder and I am wanting
to

remove the entire thing.

However, when I press delete it says recycling dialog cancel button
and when routing jaws to PC and read current line it says discovering
items.

I have waited at least twenty minutes to see if this folder will
delete but it doesn't. Why does it say recycling dialog and
discovering items. WDoes anyone have the slightest idea why this
folder isn't deleting? Its just a random folder I created with a
bunch

of notes in them.

Thank you.

I'd like it much better if my control back space and control delete worked
like that have in all previous versions. When home I do a lot of editing

I'd have to write support since I am in Arizona and work 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

2011-12-05 Thread Rose Combs
Really, words sound the same to me as they have for years. Occasionally
there is a funny one but after so many years I have gotten used to it. I
almost never use the dictionary manager because when you change versions you
generally lose things you put there I usually won't run the merge utility,
although in my particular situation I just might try that.

I could not get my voice to work or read the way version 12 did.
This is probably due to my lack of computer skills.
I like the original eloquence voice and could not find this when I went to
13.
The voices in 13 mis-read many words.
So, I went back to 12.

Good luck.

Do the tree things and delete all the info in the last folder first and than

My understanding is FS gets their info from
ESPN, and ESPN keeps updating/changing their web

scores until they work it out with ESPN again.

As others have mentioned, this does not seem to work in JAWS 13 as of last
week. I am not really a football fan, but it was a nice easy way to see if
the home team had lost yet again for social conversational reasons.

Does this breakage result from changes on the website where Research It
looks for results? Just curious as to why these problems with sports
results occur.

Having just migrated to JAWS 12 and 13 from an earlier version of JAWS, I
will say that I do like Research It for its quickness and the ease of
glancing over headlines, definitions, and other things.

I have seen this occur in both JAWS 12 and 13, where, for me, the profile
for DecTalk Access32 speech uses the Eloquence voice. You can go to the
Voice Adjustment dialog by going to the JAWS menu and choosing Options,
Voices and then Voice Adjustment. In that dialog just under the profile
name field is a field that lists the actual speech synthesizer that the
profile is using. I think you used to be able to tab to it and change it
under some earlier version of JAWS, but now it's read only and you have to
use the JAWS cursor to read it. For the Eloquence profile, the synthesizer
should be Eloquence. If it's something different, such as SAPI 5, that
would explain why you are hearing a different voice. I think it has
something to do with the settings in the Voice Profiles file located in the
same folder that has the ENU folder for your user settings. I don't know
how or why it's getting changed, nor what can be done other than a
re-install to fix it.

On my student's lap top, even though it says the voice is Eloquence, it's
Tom from Nuance. Go figure!

Re: [JAWS-Users] can't run jaws from start menu search box

2011-12-05 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

Any hotkey, such as control+alt+j to start JAWS can only exist in one
icon/shortcut on the system or it won't work at all. If you have icons for
other versions of JAWS, check each one to see what shortcut key is assigned.
If it's control+alt+j, press backspace to erase it, tab to OK and press
enter.

That's exactly what I did for the icon, and I always type jaws13 with no
space. It still doesn't work.

hello there;

first,

when your using the run box,
do not type a space between jaws and 13.
type:

jaws13

regarding your jaws icon,
shortcut,

highlight the jaws 13 icon,
press alt+enter to bring up properties,
tab over where it says,
shortcut key none,
type the letter j and press enter.

Hi,
Using windows 7, I can't seem to launch jaws from the start menu by typing
jaws 13 into the start menu search box. I get an aerror message, but can't
tell what it is because jaws is off. This is a big problem, because it means
that if jaws crashes, it is difficult if not impossible to relaunch it. A
control-alt-j keyboard shortcut also doesn't work.
Thanks,
Tasha

Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 13 with Kindle for PC

2011-12-05 Thread Ralph Supernaw
There's a Kindle program that runs on a PC. There is a version that works
with access software such as JFW. It is free to download and use. I can't
remember the link but you can find it by searching Amazon.

This program is set up so that Jaws reads the menus and one of the Solo
Direct voices reads the book. Someone else can give you a better
description.

Ralph, Would you please explain the Kindle/PC connection? Are you only
refering to downloading books on to your Kindle? Or are you saying, that we
can buy and read on our computer, a book from the Kindle book store?

Thanks for any answers! Vicky

[JAWS-Users] Research It NFL results

2011-12-05 Thread Joni Colver
As others have mentioned, this does not seem to work in JAWS 13 as of last
week. I am not really a football fan, but it was a nice easy way to see if
the home team had lost yet again for social conversational reasons.

Does this breakage result from changes on the website where Research It
looks for results? Just curious as to why these problems with sports
results occur.

Having just migrated to JAWS 12 and 13 from an earlier version of JAWS, I
will say that I do like Research It for its quickness and the ease of
glancing over headlines, definitions, and other things.
