According to the manual, the option is in the BIOS.

No. No! This is easy in Windows 7. Open your menus with the Windows key and
type "mobility center" without the quotes or enough to find it. Go through the
settings and there is clearly a setting about function keys. Select the other
option and it is all fixed. I cannot see the specific steps from where I am but
if you need them, I'll be glad to write it out and e-mail again.
Jaws will work perfect. I fought this for years till someone told me the same
thing on this list and life is so much better.

Hi friends,

Does anyone have a Packard-Bell laptop.
For some reason, the function keys 1 through 10 don't seem to perform

there is a way to turn this feature off?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help,

[JAWS-Users] start menu search box?

2012-04-17 Thread Kliphton
Okay, didn't know how to word this question. When I go to the top of my
start menu in windows 7, there is a search box. Up until about 3 weeks ago
when I typed the word "net" it would bring up my network, so I could manage
the devices, see what was connected, and let me make any changes. Now when
I type this word, all it brings up is something to do with my all in one
printer. Even when I go all the way down, it doesn't bring up the network,
it says "see more results" Is there any way to reset this without
restoring to factory defaults?

Not such a dumb question...
Since that link is too long just to click or hit Enter on, highlight the
whole link and then go on Internet Explorer or whatever browser you use and
then hit File and Open, then paste that link in the address bar that just
came up and hit OK. Short way for that is Control Plus O and then paste in
the link...

Another thing that you might want to try is using the search box in
Control Panel, as opposed to the one in the start menu.

I need help with jaws scripts for skype: I installed 'jaws Revision

to support skype ? up to 3X with jaws 7 to 10, and I'm running skype

So it compiled fine, but when I try to access the most important
function the 'jaws Skype

script manual', as instructed by pressing jawskey twice + F1 I get a
clearly unconfigured

window
text below

***

JAWS may not recognize this control.
To show JAWS what type of control it is, press JAWSKey+7.
To see more technical information on the control, press Control+JAWSKey+F1.

*when I press JAWSKey+7 I get

skype.jcf jaws configuration manager classes

new class assign classes
*edit field*
TMainUserList

I recompiled with no luck...

Please does anybody know what went wrong here? And or where I can get
a text copy of the

'jaws Skype script manual' 'jaws Revision 653b', or even some tutorial
on how to use the

script features?

Any solutions welcomed...Thanks in Advance!
