yes but if the file is locked/secured and/or accessibility is turned off as
well, then it can't scan it, don't know where folks got that notion, unless
K9 did something to circumvent pdf security? if its secured its not scanable
in K8

This is what I was doing, but it didn't work. I will give Ryan's method a
try to see how it goes.

If you have Open Book or Kurzweil you can send the file to the printer
then

select the appropriate one and the image file is converted. Jaws OCR is
best used just to get a look at what it is so you know if you want to
proceed further with a conversion process. It is not meant to read long
documents. For that you really need some kind of scanning program that
will

convert image files to text.

Hi,

I am assuming that the PDF document is an image. If you have a scanner,
you

can print the document and then scan it to have Jaws be able to read the
document as a text file.

I don't have open book or Kirzwell, but I understand that either one can
read the image file and convert it to text. I also understand that there
might be some site on the web that will do the same. Sorry to say, but I
don't know where that would be. Perhaps a Google search can find one for
you?

Take care.

I've tried everything and cannot get it to work.

Thank you.

[JAWS-Users] Saving Window 7 Contacts

2012-06-25 Thread Trish
Is there way to save the windows 7 contact list found in my Trish folder?

I have a reason to have the existing one as it is now, but want to remove
some of the entries for another app which I do not want in contacts.

Hope that made sense...

The contacts as is setup now works for my mail client. I want to put this
somewhere else, but some of the items I plan on removing before I put it in
the new program. So was thinking maybe I need to save the one now just in
case something doesn't work or, for having 2 contact list info for 2
different programs.

I did a test by zipping a section of my contacts using 7 zip, it all seemed
to still be there as is after I unzipped it. So if there's not a different
way to do this, then at least that will work..

Appreciate any help,
Trish

[JAWS-Users] Help needed posting an item to sell on ebay.com with JFW13

2012-06-25 Thread Dujari, Prateek
Hello.
JFW13, Windows7, IE9. Trying to post an item on eBay to sell. I am running
into accessibility issues in the second step wehre I'm supposed to pick a
category and subcategory to post my sale item under. There is a list box for
each and it's pretty hard to unworkable for me to access it. After hitting
enter on the browse category tab there is a list box that appears. using the
jaws cursor I can pick clothing and accessories but then again selecting the
sub category is turning out to be unworkable. And unless I make a selection
for each of these the next or continue button stays ghosted out.

Do you have any tips to be able to successfully post an item for sale at
ebay.com?

[JAWS-Users] Using JAWS With Quick Books

2012-06-25 Thread Scott Duck
Hello Everyone,

I use to operate a small management accounting consulting business. After
having been away from it for a few years, I am about to restart the
consulting business. Previously, I found Quick Books not to work well with
JAWS And so my clients who used Quick Books exported their data for me to
work with. This was a workable solution but I would like to occasionally be
able to access it for myself. How well do the current versions of JAWS and
Quick Books work together? Are there any scripts out there for Quick Books
and JAWS? I am using JAWS 13.

Thanks,

Scott Duck

Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW and Outlook 2010

2012-06-25 Thread John Justice
I'm not sure what is happening, Sir, but it is most definitely not an issue
I'm familiar with at all. Outlook 2010 is my default e-mail client. The
issue in question sounds like it might be local in nature.

I tried Microsoft Outlook 2010 yesterday on a test machine and couldn't get
JAWS to read the messages when I was moving up and down in the inbox for
some odd reason.
I uninstalled and went back to 2007 and it is working fine.
I don't know if this is a known issue or not?

Not everyone wants to delete messages on exit, I don't because generally
just after I have done that I need a message that just went away. I do mine
every few days to every month, amazing when you look at all the e-mail you
have received in one month, in January it was something like 8000 messages
in there when I deleted them on February second.

Normally I don't let it go that high but I sort of wanted to see how much
e-mail I was getting and that did not include the e-mail that comes to one
of my gmail.com address.
So, if you do not want it automatically Alt H, move across the ribbon until
you hear folder, then start moving the right arrow until you find it, it
takes quite a few arrows. I do it so fast now that it takes almost no time
unless I am distracted.

Hello Rob,

When in your list of messages in a folder use Alt+F followed by Alt+T to go
to the Outlook options. In the categories list box use the letter A to move
to the Advance category. Use Alt+E to move to the checkbox that determines
if the deleted folder is emptied when exiting Outlook. Use spacebar to
check or uncheck the box. Tab to OK and press enter key.

Take care.

Hello
I'm not sure what the advantages are using cDex to rip audio,
But you can do this using windows media player quite easily.

1, place the audio CD into the drive, assuming you use windows media,
Windows media player will start playing the CD.

2, press ctrl+s=stop.

3, now navigate to windows media player,
And tab to the rip button press spacebar or the enter key.

Note,
By default all the tunes are selected by default,
So you will need to
Select the one's you wish to burn.
Aalso,
If when you open windows media player and you land into the library, and
you

only see the burn button,
Press ctrl+#3,this places you into the now playing,
Now you should see the rip button using the tab key.

Hope this helps.
