Hmm, where did you fail?
Let's try it this way.
>From the inbox do alt f and right arrow until you get to the manage rules
and alerts button and press spacebar.
Now tab to the "move down" button and press spacebar.
You will now be in a list of all of your rules, down arrow and press the
delete key on the rule of which you would like to delete and then tab to
apply and tab to ok.

  Mike,

Given that the script is present in JAWS:
  1. Open the message whose sender you are going to reply to privately.

  2. Press insert+shift+r.

  3. Maximize the window. If you don't maximize here, the script won't
  work.

  4. now Look at your To: field.

[JAWS-Users] Openning pdf links from Google search results

2012-07-10 Thread Cristobal
Hello list,

So I was wondering if anyone could lend me a hand. I'm trying to access some
Google search results that are mainly pdf files but when I click on them,
Jaws either goes all wacky and sometimes crashes or the page simply doesn't
load. I've also tried clicking on the quick view link option provided as
well and no luck there either.

Right clicking and selecting the save as option doesn't help since all it is
is a url and openning in another tab or window doesn't bring anything up
either.

I do know that being able to view a pdf will depend on the quality of the
pdf and whether it's just an image of text or text itself and so on, but
assuming that at least one result has got to be more or less ledgible text,
how can I go about either getting Jaws to read it or to be able to download
the file first?

All this is in IE9. I may even give it a try in Firefox and play with some
add-ons, but would like to know if it's possible to do this with IE or
without having to use some other third party add-on with Mozilla first. I'm
using the latest JFW 13 too.

Thanks,

not sure which key that is, all I do when in an e mail is to simply press

Hi all,

Has anyone used the Reply directly to sender, Insert+Shift+R feature
successfully? The results I get when using this feature differ as in some
cases, it will work as expected and in other cases it will input the
mailing

list address. I have tried it with JAWS 10, 11, 12 and 13 with the same
result.

Kind regards

Re: [JAWS-Users] Alt Tab in Windows 7

2012-07-10 Thread David
Hello;
Let me try to right these keystrokes again;

Windows-Key+(1 through 0)
Opens the pinned taskbar icon
that corresponds to the order that they are in from left to right on the
taskbar.

Windows-Key+Alt-Key+(1 through 0)
Opens the jump List
of recently accessed items for the program pinned to the taskbar in the
position indicated by the number.

Windows-Key+Ctrl-Key+(1 through 0) Switches to the last active window of the
program pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number.

Windows-Key+Shift-Key+(1 through 0) Starts a new instance of the program
pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number.

Windows-Key+T Cycle through programs on the taskbar. Press Enter to open the
one selected.

Windows-Key+Shift-Key+T Cycle backwards through programs on the taskbar.
Press Enter to open the one selected.

I would suspect,
The WindowsKey+t would be the best to cycle through the programs instead of
the tab key.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Alt Tab in Windows 7

2012-07-10 Thread David
Hello there;
Here's a few more keystrokes you may want to consider, getting from program
to program while they're opened.
Using windows7

Windows-Key+ (1 through 0)=Opens the pinned taskbar icon that corresponds
to the order that they are in from left (1) to right (0) on the taskbar. 0
is for 10.

Windows-Key+Alt-key + (1 through 0)= Opens the Jump List of recently
accessed items for the program pinned to the taskbar in the position
indicated by the number.

Windows-Key+Ctrl-key+(1 through 0)= Switches to the last active window of
the program pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number.

Windows-Key+Shift-Key+(1 through 0)= Starts a new instance of the program
pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number.

Windows-Key+T=Cycle through programs on the taskbar. Press Enter to open the
one selected.

Windows-Key+Shift-key+T=Cycle backwards through programs on the taskbar.
Press Enter to open the one selected.

Hi Everyone,

I posted about this a while back but I didn't get any response. I thought
that I would try again and see if I can explain myself a bit better. Sense
I have started using Windows 7, I have been having a problem with using alt
tab to switch between programs. For example, lets say that I have open
JAWS, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. I am in Excel and I need
to look up something on the net so I alt tab over to Internet Explorer.
Now, I try to alt tab back to Excel but I cannot. Alt tab will only go
between IE and JAWS. So, I use insert F10 to bring up the JAWS window list
and select Excel from there. Now that I have done that, I can again alt tab
between all of the open programs. Is there a setting that I can change to
make it so that all of the open programs are always in the alt tab rotation?
I don't know for sure that Windows 7 is what is causing the problem but I
have used all flavors of Windows back to Windows 3.1 and I have not had this
problem before. I upgraded to JAWS 13 at the same time that I upgraded to
Windows 7 so I suppose that JAWS could be the problem. I would appreciate
any suggestions.

Thanks,

Scott Duck

I don't think it is, there are many Jaws computers where alt-tab works very
well.

I think this may be a JAWS issue, although you may want to
check with Freedom Scientific, as I have this very same
issue with JAWS 13 on an XP Pro machine

Re: [JAWS-Users] Replying directly to sender

2012-07-10 Thread Flor Lynch

Mike,

Given that the script is present in JAWS:
1. Open the message whose sender you are going to reply to privately.

2. Press insert+shift+r.

3. Maximize the window. If you don't maximize here, the script won't
work.

4. now Look at your To: field.

5. your mileage may vary, between versions of JAWS and email clients, as
to whether the script will work or not.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Replying directly to sender

2012-07-10 Thread David Ferrin
It turns out the reason I never posted the key map files is because I was
waiting for a chance to finish out my research, but since I have made it
work in outlook express and outlook 2003 I am going to go ahead and post
those two key map files.

So by the time you read this they should already be up on the tips and
tricks page under their appropriate headings along with instructions.

2012-07-10 Thread Don Marang
Yes, this happens to me often when there are a lot of applications
open. Mostly when Excel 2010 is one of the applications. Since
entering Tab characters into each application is not desirable, I give
up and use another method. I use the Insert + F10 key combination to
bring up the JAWS list of running applications dialog.

Thanks,

Hi all,

Has anyone used the Reply directly to sender, Insert+Shift+R feature
successfully? The results I get when using this feature differ as in some
cases, it will work as expected and in other cases it will input the mailing
list address. I have tried it with JAWS 10, 11, 12 and 13 with the same
result.

Kind regards

Re: [JAWS-Users] Replying directly to sender

2012-07-10 Thread David Ferrin
I have made it work with outlook express and outlook 2003. It didn't work
with 2010 and I have yet to have a chance to try my fix with outlook 2007 or
2000 either for that matter.

I don't have 2000 or 2007 and somebody offered to have me try it with 2010
over tandem. I'd like a chance to try it with 2000 or 2007 some time.

Sometimes you need to hit Alt Tab twice really fast. I've always had that
problem even with XP even before my sight got bad enough I had to depend
mostly on Jaws. I just hit Alt Tab twice rapidly and it moves to the next
open application. I use Windows 7, Jaws, and Magic.

Hello Steven,

You might want to try using the software that came with the scanner before
investing in anything else. If you don't have software for the scanner, you
might be able to download it from the manufacturer's site. Check under the
program groups in the start menu or perhaps there is an icon on the desktop for
the scanning software. Otherwise, you can go to the support area of the
manufacturer's web site and try to find software and drivers for your specific
model of scanner. If your scanner software can save scanned material as a text
file then it might be all you need for reading simple documents. I have used
JAWS with various scanner software with good success.

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] photo software

Does anyone know of a photo creative software program that works with jaws.

I want to scan a photo and send it out as an attatchment using window live mail.

I have a scanner that came with my open book 9 but do not know right now what
kind, an epsom I think.

Thanks,

David

because I'm thinking of buying a reader like that. Thanks,

Hi, how are you? I'd like to know if the pearl camera that replaced the
scanner could be used to take screen shots of musical keyboard screens?
