Hi, Just go ahead and remove all the old versions and if you have a backup, remove shared components if you want a fresh start. Is it activated? The only thing I am not sure of is that if you completely remove everything, the activation is removed but I would suggest that it is so you would have to re-activate on line. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Graham Smith Sent: 27 November 2012 16:57 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Updating Jaws I am going to update my old laptop which I use as backup to my main laptop. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS
Absolutely, if you want people to use it, brand it with the product. I almost bought Microsoft Windows 8 until the supplier kindly advised that I would actually need the 8 Pro version to include WMC. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Hamit Campos Sent: 24 November 2012 14:14 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS Well, I guess it would be exactly what you said. I did but I just don't get why MS is wining about not enough people using WMC when it's parcially their own falt for not marketing it the right way. Pall Thurrot said once that HP's M495C ruined it too since it was a tower and not one of those dvd player looking HT PCs'. Maybe so, but who knows. It's just too bad they gave up on it. Actually you need to install the same version of jaws on the citrix server as well as your desktop. This is usually the show stopper. You also need to pro version of jaws. Re: [JAWS-Users] question about downloading bank transactions and the accessibillidey of softwair
I pointed out the comma delimited version because it will import into most spreadsheet software as well as some accounting packages. If you don't use any spreadsheet programs or accounting packages then you need to figure out what program you want to learn. For your needs to just review your transactions then you might want to have another go at Excel. I can't think of another program that would be easier for just reviewing your transactions. If you want to do more than just reviewing then you may want to learn an accounting package. I haven't used any of them so I can't suggest any. Re: [JAWS-Users] accessibility on gotomeeting and citrix online
My appologies, Yes it would have to be hosted by the provider. It is on the citrix server where jaws needs to be installed and it needs to be the same version or newer than what is on the desktop. In this case you probably can't. I Haven't ever heard of a provider installing jaws on their server. I Haven't had to use "Go To Meeting" so I can't speak to it directly. [JAWS-Users] What's a good database for use with jaws!
Hi Recently my workplace mentioned they were going to move to a new database software called "File Reader Pro" and wanted to know what its accessibility was like and if it would work with my version of jaws. I wasn't sure about this and did some research on Google where I found that while the makers of File Reader Pro were touting it was accessible this is not quite the truth as I discovered from various other web forums etc. Now I would like to know if someone here has a particular database other than say MS Access or File Reader Pro that would be pretty good accessibility wise. Many thanks for any help. Paul. -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter. SPAMfighter has removed 1442 of my spam emails to date. Re: [JAWS-Users] question about downloading bank transactions and the accessibillidey of softwair
If you're familiar with spreadsheet software like excel, I recommend the .CSV format. This will give you the raw data, and you can then manipulate it in anyway you like to fit your needs. If you're not familiar with Spreadsheet software like excel, my question is "why not"? Re: [JAWS-Users] question about downloading bank transactions and the accessibillidey of softwair
Hey Mitch, There's a good tutorial (webinar) for excel for $30, and a free webinar on the MS Office suite interface, along with one for ribbons on FreedomScientific's training website. In fact, that site is chalk full of good training material - much of it free. Hi. As far as i know, so is'nt it possible to make scripts for the Microsoft Works package, because all the applications are using the same Window Class. So whatever you're working in a spreadshead or text editing or database program, the same Window Classes are beeing used. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS
Ah, I think I get your point. If you're talking about how it use to be part of it, well that wasn't really the problem so much. What I'm talking about is the fact that Not many people knew about it, those that did were few and some thought it was an OS, then there's the probability of the influence of what Paull said. Again, I can't really say if the M495C really effected anything not having touched it,and the only comments I've heard on it being from Larry Scutchan. In other words, did it look nice at all to a sighted person particularly to any women? Who knows. The reason I bring up women is because you always hear thixs with anything home theater, the guy may want it, but the girl doesn't want the stuff yucking up the prettiness of the room. But I digress. Point is, what I'm saying is there weren't many home theater PCs, the set up wasn't as simple as people may have liked I guess. It wasn't plug and play like with a TV, and WMC wasn't too well known. Ask some of your friends and see if they know what WMC is and you'll see what I mean. That was my point. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Hicks Steven (CORNWALL IT SERVICES) Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2012 3:27 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS Absolutely, if you want people to use it, brand it with the product. [JAWS-Users] strange problem with folders in outlook 2010
Hi all If this is not jaws related and off topic my sincere appologies to everyone On one of my outlook accounts I have quite a few sub folders for different kinds of messages. Since about a week ago, for some obscure reason, I am unable to see these subfolders. When trying to move messages to the existing folders I am also not able to do so. So it does seem as if they are still there but hidden somehow! Can somebody assist with this perhaps?
