[JAWS-Users] turning off protected view

2014-01-30 Thread Judy
Hi, I am sending these instructions that I received from someone on this
list when I asked the same question. Judy

There is a way to turn off protected view for Word documents.
1. From within Microsoft Word, Press Alt F followed by the letter T for
Options and press Enter.
2. Press T to highlight Trust Center.
3. Press Tab until you get to Trust Center Settings and press Enter.
4. Use up and down arrow keys to highlight Protected View.
5. You can tab to four checkboxes, and you can uncheck the ones that you
feel are safe to uncheck. Perhaps the last one regarding data execution
should remain checked.

If you want protected view completely turned off, then you will want to
uncheck all the boxes. Were you able to find the category that said
protected view under trust center settings? There are 3 boxes, the first
turns on or off protected view for documents coming from the internet.
The second turns on or off protected view for documents in potentially
unsafe locations. The third turns on or off protected view for
attachments in outlook. I'd leave the second box checked.

Hit alt+f, then go to options. Go under trust center, then hit trust
center settings. There will be a listing for protected view under there,
along with several check boxes. Uncheck the boxes to turn protected view

I am looking for an Internet converter. My dream would be to type a
measurement in it and have it convert it to the opposite, from metric to
Celsius or backwards. For instance, I would type in 18 C and be able to
get
a Fahrenheit equivalent or 8 feet and get a metric equivalent. Of course,
I
would love to have all puzzles resolved with one converter, but I am also
a
realist and if it would take one each for different measurements, I can

Yes, as I found out through some trial and tribulations, totally remove any
signs of iTunes from the PC.

This means removing all the references to iTunes from the program files
folder under the C Drive and any signs of iTunes in the add remove operation
under the Control Panel.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was happening until I
removed all signs of iTunes from the PC. Hopefully, this will save lots of
time for anyone else.

It seems the problem is Apple is ignoring removing the old version of the
"MobileMeServices" executable which conflicts with the new "Apple
MobileMeServices executable".

Totally uninstall the old, and install the new. See if that fixes the
problem.

You can still use the shortcut key strokes shift, control and F for font and
shift, control and P for the font size respectively.

[JAWS-Users] Converter accessible to JAWS 12

2014-01-30 Thread Liuda Balcius
I am looking for an Internet converter. My dream would be to type a
measurement in it and have it convert it to the opposite, from metric to
Celsius or backwards. For instance, I would type in 18 C and be able to get
a Fahrenheit equivalent or 8 feet and get a metric equivalent. Of course, I
would love to have all puzzles resolved with one converter, but I am also a
realist and if it would take one each for different measurements, I can deal
with this also. My goal is to place a link or web address for these on my
Desktop so that I can get to this information as quickly as possible.

Now, nothing is perfect and I am sure such a comprehensive tool does not
exist, but without dreams, they can never come true.

Any converters you successfully use with JAWS are definitely of interest
to me. In advance, I thank you for any and all help and guidance about this
matter.

It does seem that I am the only one who would like to play audio files
through skype though. I would example use this when talking to a friend
and

playing a track to him or her while we are talking.

I used to be able to do this with a hardware mixer but was wondering if
there is a software way to do this.

I have gold wave but it will not allow recording of a Skype call. It
either disconnects or only records one voice.

Thanks, I did download the Ifree one but am using GW connect for

Skype

and it didn't seem to recognize that? Do you know if these work with
the GW interface or does one need to use the regular Skype client?

Thanks,
Al
