Re: [JAWS-Users] Need to partition the C drive into two parts with thehelp of jaws

2014-02-02 Thread David Ferrin
I must add that this demonstration assumes you are adept with using the JAWS
cursor for clicking on items. I figured at the time I recorded it that if a
person had the chops to partition a drive they should be able to handle a
couple of mouse clicks.

Over all though I believe the procedure is quite easy.

Partition Assistant is accessible with Jaws, perhaps this demonstration will
help:

http://www.jaws-users.com/audio/Utilities/partitionAssistant.mp3

Even though the demo is with the home edition, the principles are the same.
Keep in mind that Windows requires a minimum of 15 percent free-space to
perform maintenance and proper operation.

Hi friends in my laptop C drive consists of 153gb, which I want to split
into two parts, 53 and 100gb each. only 37gb of this space is in use. I am
using Win 7 professional registered version with jaws 14. So far I have
tried through disk management, it is only shrinking the sise of the drive
but not splitting this drive into two parts. And this disk management is
giving predefined sise upto which it can be shrinked. Say for e.g. it is
giving me 21755mb for shrinking which made my drive to 131gb from 153gb but
didn't make new drive. More over I tried through AOMEI partition assistant
pro edition, but it seems not compatible with jaws. Please help me to split
my C drive into two parts, as I have 110GB free space on my C drive.

Hi list members, i'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem that
after your computer starts and jaws 14 is loaded that your start menu seems to
hang? I don't remember this problem happening until recently. I have not had
anything done that I don't have done like using windows cleaner, Mc Cafee,
Spybot, spyware. I usually use these tools to clean my system. I don't know
of anything else that could be happening. Thank you for any information that

The TinySpell works constantly and will beep anytime you misspell a

It is my understanding that the Windows spell checker has to be activated by

Hi all,

Win 7 and 15.0.

Does anyone know of a spell checker that works well with JAWS?

I'm looking for that that works on the fly in all applications.

Tiny Spell used to work for me, but I can not find the download now
that I
switched computers.

I got a nasty virus when I thought I downloaded this program.

It must have been an imposter web site.

Thanks so much.

George,
The TinySpell works constantly and will beep anytime you misspell a
word.
It is my understanding that the Windows spell checker has to be activated by
a keystroke after completing the editing.

And another question to whoever reads this:

[JAWS-Users] headphones, Skype and win 8

2014-02-02 Thread Lenny McHugh
My grandson uses Skype on his computer. He use to plug the headphones into
the back of the soundcard. The set has two plugs plus a usb connection. I do
not know my way around win 8 or Skype. can it be tailored to use this
hardware? If so where do I look to make the changes. I installed the demo
copy of jaws on his machine so only have about 30 minutes to make the
changes.

2014-02-02 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

The tutorial on Partition Assistant says that the home edition is free to
use on 32 bit Windows. But it looks like the home edition has been replaced
by a standard edition. The standard edition of Partition Assistant is
free for both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows. It looks like you can
use it with JAWS by following the steps in the tutorial.

What is wrong with the spell checker of windows that jaws reads out to you?
And another question to whoever reads this:

If, a person DL's the link that was posted, will it interfere with the spell
checker you are using now?

Thanks,

When I tried to open it up after saving it then running it.I got a message

I went in to Programs and Features and saw at least 3 programs that were

I use Skype all the time. So if you just get a headset with a microphone that
has usb connection all you would have to do is plug in the usb to your pc and
it will automatically connect to Skype when you turn Skype on..You will not

My grandson uses Skype on his computer. He use to plug the headphones into the
back of the soundcard. The set has two plugs plus a usb connection. I do not
know my way around win 8 or Skype. can it be tailored to use this hardware? If
so where do I look to make the changes. I installed the demo copy of jaws on
his machine so only have about 30 minutes to make the changes.
