[JAWS-Users] Application Key does not work
Hello. I have a new keyboard and the Application Key does not work at all; when pressed, there is only silence. What is the other keystroke to have the Applications Menu appear, something with a Function Key? Thank you very, very much. [JAWS-Users] JAWS losing focus.
Hi everyone. I'm using JAWS 14 with windows 8.1. When I open a programme E.G. internet explorer, JAWS speaks the name Internet explorer and then nothing else. I then arrow down but all JAWS says is blank, blank, blank. So I've found that I have to press shift and tab and only then will JAWS make the window visible and speak the name of my home page text and links etc. Is there a way of setting jaws to ensure that the window displaying the programme is visible when the programme is opened? Not necessarily, I also have a keyboard which is the same way and after having someone sighted look at it, it is labeled as an F/N key. When I had to use that keyboard, I just got used to using Shift + F10. Needless to say I don't use that keyboard anymore, but I may look into the documentation later to see if that key can be re-assigned, but I don't re-call it coming with any software. No, this keyboard also came with no software either. I'll just deal with it until it breaks down in about 6 months with all of the typing I do on a keyboard. The keys simply wear out. Then press this key which will determine that the key is being recognised by the system, however it may not perform assigned task. If it is not working at all, request your supplier for replacement. you know, next to my applications key going towards the alt key is a key it also does nothing, could maybe the person maybe be hitting that key instead thingking it's the application key? If it helps any, I use a Microsoft wireless/bluetooth keyboard series 3000 I have only one window's key on the left side, but where another windows key should be on right, is this key that does nothing. Hello list members: In opening specific email messages, I am unable to complete the AltH, A, V keystroke sequence. After pressing AltH I receive a pin sound and JAWS says: ignore conversation. Tabbing over to cancel this message does not resolve the problem. I would appreciate any input regarding how to correct or resolve this issue. Trish, to the right of the spacebar comes the alt key first. Then comes the should be working application key and next to that is definitely the control key. Hello David, When after I give it a name, shift tab doesn't work as you described here. I tab and come to hide folders if I enter on that, it turns to browse folders, then I have to use jaws cursor to read, cause I have 31 folders in my Trish list, and my documents is not showing in the few that are. I can press first letter and hop to it. There is no other options to move to within this list, as for computer, library, etc. I also am doing this in notepad not in Word, if that makes any difference? I can save to my documents through my email client Windows Mail no problem. I don't know if the Jaws 13 will or will not work with your Office Outlook Complete E-mail if you have the complete package 2013. I can tell you I am using the complete package which Microsoft Help station center offered their services and converted me from 2003 to.. They said too that the best result for their program was Jaws 15 latest release. Which was two back and with the two newest I have had no issues. Just a matter getting use to the ribbons. hi, JAWS 13 does not work with office 2013. their were office 2013 scripts added in a JAWS 15 update. it will cost $800 with out an SMA to upgrade from jaws 13 to jaws 15.. Hello, Once you got a programme in your downloads folder, you go there, select the programme you donwloaded and press enter to install. Another way is to, again select what you want to install, the go to the context menu by pressing the application key or shift F10 and press open or execute. This, will install your programme. Ok, I didn't ask the right question earlier. Maybe I can get it right this time. I accidently mute the volume on my HP laptop running Windows 8. Is there a way to rescue myself when I do this? I used hostgator for my web hosting needs. The site is accessible. When I did the research, out of all the web hosts I looked at, hostgator clearly came out on top.
