Re: [JAWS-Users] problem with alt key on the right

2014-11-15 Thread Flor Lynch
I don't have Windows8, so can't tell you exactly where it is there.
It'll be in the equivalent of Control Panel, Keyboards, settings, layout
tab control. Unless it was changed radically in Windows8, Easier to just
play with the left alt+shift keys, and see what comes on. . Thus you
would press left alt+shift keys, repeatedly if necessary, and when it
says, "setting keyboard layout to US" leave it there. If you don't know
how this setting got changed, accidentally pressing those keys together
is the most likely way it happened.

 Hi,
you've probably changed the keyboard layout from the US keyboard to
a
European (or UK) keyboard. To restore it, the key may be, left alt

[JAWS-Users] Copying a Program

2014-11-15 Thread Trish
Hello,

I need to figure out how to get a program from one computer to another, the
deal is, this program I inran it as install instead of downloading it.
So, I see it in programs/features, but how do I get a copy of it to copy to
a flash drive to put on another computer?

I don't think pretty sure here, I cannot go back to the site where I got it
from, because it has updated the program, and I want the one prior to the
new.

So any help on helping me figure out to do this please. I am using Window's

Hello list,

An odd behavior I’ve been experiencing with JFW 16.

In Firefox, I have DuckDuckGo as my default search engine. When I want to
search for something, I’ll open up the search edit box (control+e) and type
in my search term. I’ll then be taken to DuckDuckGo’s webpage with the
search results, but then either Jaws will crash right away or right after I
press “h” to jump to the first heading. So far, the improved recovery
feature in JFW 16 has worked flawlessly and Jaws does come back every single
time, but still… After Jaws comes back, I have no problem moving around the
DuckDuckGo results webpage.

Also, if I do the exact same search with a different engine, be it Google,
Bing, etc. I don’t’ have this crashing problem.

I’m using Firefox 33.0.2.

Is anyone else dealing with this issue?

I want as little extra information being read as possible and things not

Trish,

You require the executable for the old copy, to transfer it over and
install, etc. A site like www.oldapps.com > or, www.oldversion.com > -
might have it. or, you could google for results on it by typing the
program's title and version number into the search edit field.

I believe your issue to be different from diane's, and I've already
stated why. Have you got a different keyboard to hook up? If you have,
that might determine if it is your JAWS that's causing the 'stickiness'
if it happens randomly with that keyboard.

 Hi,
you've probably changed the keyboard layout from the US keyboard to
a
European (or UK) keyboard. To restore it, the key may be, left alt
plus

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Copying a Program

Trish,

You require the executable for the old copy, to transfer it over and
install, etc. A site like www.oldapps.com > or, www.oldversion.com > -
might have it. or, you could google for results on it by typing the
program's title and version number into the search edit field.

[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 and date on incoming messages

2014-11-15 Thread Liuda Balcius
I use Outlook 2010, Win. 7 and JAWS 16.

For whatever reason, new messages coming in do not have the day and date on
them, only the time. Where can I go and what do I need to do to again have
the day and date read, as well as the time???

Thanks for all help!

[JAWS-Users] Spell Checker in Outlook 2010

2014-11-15 Thread Liuda Balcius
I use Win 7 and JAWS 16.

When I go to send an e-mail, the spell checker automatically checks the
message. In the past, everything was perfect. For some reason, it now says
that there are no spelling suggestions, when there absolutely are on the
tab. How can I get this back to my normal setting? I really did not change
anything in Outlook settings to make this happen, as far as I know.

Thanks for all help.

Mike,

Word 2013 on my PC, by default, when saving as a "Word Document" in the Save
As feature, saves the documents as .doc files, reading as Word 97-2003 in
the Type column in File Explorer. So I guess the answer is yes.

Re: [JAWS-Users] need some help with saving attachments

2014-11-15 Thread TheHangMan
 Hi,
Open the mail
Then, shift tab.
Then, right arrow on the message heading.
Use the right arrow, until you locate the first attachment.

Press F 12 and the save menu option will read.
Next, tab through the menu until you hear the save button, which is next to
the tools
You can also rename it and change the format, before you save it.

You will have to save each attachment.
OR press control + shift + right arrow to select
I believe it's easier saving one at atime
